The post is crap though and factually wrong. That's why it's an agenda.

You can't just post absurd opinion and expect not to be called on it.

How is it factually wrong ? As I've gladly admitted, one minute he's banging in a world class goal after smoothly controlling a difficult pass, and the next minute his first touch to a slow rolling pass is equivalent to Donald Trump shouting grab em by the pussy. The variations aren't a sign of class...More often than not he gets the basics wrong, more often than not his technique looks like Rooneys final days at the club. It should be the complete opposite

Don't think what MThomas has wrriten is 'wrong' here. He's just saying he's inconsistent in his play and that's true. Even Lukaku himself doesn't know what is going to happen when the ball is played to him.

It's got nothing to do with whether he had a good game, was MOTM or played well.

That said, he is 'improving' and most blame goes with Mourinho's lack of coaching.

Just think it's bizarre timing to pick on Rom tonight under the circumstances which is why I think it's agenda posting.

Never his biggest fan but like others have said, he's grafting and improving and you can tell it means a lot to him being out on the pitch wearing our shirt and trying to be as good as he can be.

Don't think he'll ever get over the glaring deficiencies he has technically but if his workrate continues to improve he'll always bang in goals.

His attitude is putting a lot of other players to shame.

He's having to do so much work it's incredible. We're just lumping balls up to him and saying go on Rom, take it down hold onto the ball and beat 2 or 3 men will you?

He was good again tonight, he works so hard for us and deserves so much more. So happy we signed him you can see he really wants to do well for us

Was he actually that good today? Not really but he was better than most of our other players.

Whole team was poor and he was very easily marshaled by their CB for most of the night. No9 under this Mou team is almost impossible given the isolation but at least he's giving it a go and knuckling down I guess.

He's had a great debut season.

No messing around putting him on the flanks, he's an out-and-out striker, a classic #9. He's here to score goals and he does just that. He's hungry, like Andy Cole, but more powerful.

The only one who was up for the fight. He's the undisputed man of the match.

I feel bad for him. He works his ass off making the most of our hoofball ways only to be surrounded by 5 players with no other United player within miles to help him. We really need to figure out how to play with 2 strikers again because he'd be that much better for us.

I feel for him. I bet he’s the most upset player in that dressing room. That’s why I wanted him here from Day 1. That passion and desire to win. We need more of that. He was the only player who fought tonight.

One out of few who can hold his head high after that game. Did his best but was letdown yet again by horrendous service and link up play (or non-link-up play) from Alexis and Lingard.

Worked hard, not sure he played thaaat well though. A few occasions where he definitely should've done better like the rashford ball to him. But probably the best player on the night and you can't fault the work ethic or attitude. We use him incorrectly IMO. Don't play to his strengths. The amount of time we just good it to him cause he's big instead of trying to play normally and whip balls in for him to attack is infuriating.

on nights like tonight, working hard makes you look like a superstar.
As I said in the last 3/4 games he looks like he has realized how good he needs to be week in week out, and I personally see a significant improvement in him.
If we had 4 more performance like lukaku's tonight we would have wont that game.
Disgusted overall, but certainly not with Rom.

Yeah definitely agree with him seemingly realized what he needs. His performance levels have significantly improved and they've been consistent in terms of his overall play. I was one of his biggest critics, but he just had to show his class every week for me to drop the criticism, which he has. I wasn't being unfair at all IMO. It's not like he's been fantastic in every game.. he's had good and bad moments, but mostly his play has been consistent, the work rate there, the focus and movement there, and looking more like a leader. Definitely a sign for optimism. Sadly though, not sure what use it'll be long term. We won't win anything important with Mourinho in charge, and I feel like once we move on from him, it could even be good for lukaku as we might stop hoofing it up to him all the time and start using him properly.

Once more consistency comes in the technical aspect of his game - he'll become unstoppable! He's only 24. In 2-3 years time with the attitude he's showing he'll be a firm fans favourite.

I bet he would already score more than 30 goals this season if he gets the same service as kane or aguero , watch him tearing it apart for belgium in WC with KDB and hazard behind

Probably only positive in the game. His footwork was good, dribbled past players few times, holding off 2-3 players. His good form in 2018 continues. Hopefully he will carry on this and kick on to next level.

The only one who had the balls to post an Instagram post after this disgrace - I really wish him much more goals and trophies with us

He’s looking more like the captain of the squad each and every week. He’s won me over.

Our best player. How has it come to this?

Only player that shows passion and determination, doesn't jog around and shows all he got every week. Really like him and feel a bit sorry for him for the shambles that's going on around him.

I thought he showed some fight for the shirt tonight and had a solid dig. Not brilliant but he looked like he cared.

That's the number one thing for me, he's slowly becoming my favorite player at United. He really gave it his all and can walk out of that game with his head held high.

If you put together a list of "People I would be really annoyed if sold" list... he'd probably be joint 2nd with Rashford (both behind DDG).

The rest of that list is Bailey, Mata... and that's it.

This kid wants it. WANTS it. If we could take his attitude and transplant it into our entire XI then we'd have a hell of a team.

He's a sneaky candidate in the washup to become our skipper next year, it is probably two or three years to early but the leadership core in our team is absolutely dire and Lukaku with the arm band barking at our players taking us forward is probably one of the few solutions to that problem.

I feel for him tonight, I really do. Completely let down by the rest of the attack.

He had a really poor spell earlier in the season when he was struggling with all facets of his game, not just technically but also looked sluggish with his movement, was finding it difficult to use his strength, almost as if he was trying to show there was more to his game than physicality and lost some of his natural game.

He looks in better shape, gained a little confidence and everything has improved. To steal a rugby phrase he has started to dominate the collisions, much more aggressive going into contact, looking to bully defenders again. Now looks more assured with his touch and hungry for the ball. He still makes errors with his control and lay offs but in these recent pressure games he has been a leader. Deserves a lot of credit.

Also shown a pleasing knack for a weighted through ball cutting the defense up.

At the moment he is our best attacker.

This means we will buy a more famous, much older player to replace him asap.

He is more aggressive in last few games and using his physical strength to bully defenders. He was able to hold 2-3 players easily and dribbled past them.

Love this aggression from him. Hopefully he will continue to play with same aggression.

Was going to post that. Earlier on in the season he wasn’t punching his weight but he’s finally started playing like the awesome physical specimen that he is. Defenders were bouncing off him all night long.

Yeah, earlier he used to lose shoulder to shoulder challenges, now he is just bullying the defenders.

I was critic of his but fair play to the guy he won me over these past few months with his attitude and glaringly obvious improvements, currently, being let down by our inability to attack with any speed though. Also, only player including management to come out from yesterday with any sort of credit.

For me, he is a leader. He wants to win all the time and doesn't seem to care how which I quite like. But most importantly, he is willing to say it how it is - criticising his teammates I think is good.

Also in his interview he said similar stuff to Mourinho regarding the match but added the criticism of the team. To me that means Mourinho did also give a complete bollocking to the players rather than just shrug his shoulders

He is Mourinho’s sergeant after all...
