He's a tank. Great player, always busting a gut and bullying defenders. Have been critical of him in the past and didn't really want him to join us in the summer but he's completely turning me around at the moment. I have the feeling he's a very intelligent and tactically aware player, so he's probably very good to work with from the manager's perspective, especially a tactically strict manager like Mourinho is.

Also, I freakin love his passion, so good to see for me as a fan.

Another great performance from him. Been great for us this season. Don't know what the guy has to do to make some people on here happy. Room for improvement of course, but we knew that before he came on. He's improving every week.

Really starting to look like a United player now.

He’s started to use his strength to his advantage, something I was critical of earlier in the season. The through ball to Mata for the second was delightful.

Great game. He's playing superbly at the moment, and getting the hang of the big games now - I don't think it's fair to use that stick to beat him with any more after his performances here and against Chelsea.

If Lovren had got the yellow he deserved for diving in on Fellaini twice in a row (incomprehensible refereeing), it probably would have given him just that tiny fraction of a hesitation enough to let Lukaku beat him to that ball at the end and go through on goal. He was unlucky there, but I love to see him getting into those foot-races.

Energy and commitment to the game in the dying stages is incredible. That alone makes him a Manchester United striker.

Gives his all and what I like most about him is what he said prior to the game:

Self-awareness and wants to improve. I don't think we need to look for Kane or any striker anymore, Lukaku has shown he can be good enough in the future, if he is not already now.

Great quote that.

He seems to have a great attitude. Another excellent performance today, and it's terrific to see him rising to the challenge of playing for Utd.

Does strike me as a player that will continue to develop, rather than peak at 25 which, sadly, is not uncommon for strikers, especially those that have played as many matches as he has.

Having a great few months, hopefully can keep that progression going. Very close to becoming a fan favourite methinks.

Almost perfect in the first half. Did almost everything that anyone could have asked of him.

Second half he didn't have as much success though. Somewhat understandable with the change in how we played, but he also lost the majority of the 50/50's which he was winning in the first half. If he'd been able to hold some of those balls up it would have given us the ability to get control of the ball a bit more again.

This sort of performance is what we need from him.

It’s nice him scoring chances - we all know he can do that. But the ability to hold the ball up and bring the ball down from goalkicks and get others involved is what we need from him.

Brilliant today.

That’s the first time I’ve seen him turn up in a match versus Liverpool

Talked big during the week, performances matching the words now, good to see

I loved the way Lukaku celebrated when Matic scored against Palace. Went on his knees and smashed the ground several times with his fists in pure joy. He did something close to that after Rashford scored his second goal today. And then he also rallied the United fans at one point. The guy has so much energy, passionnand he's getting better and better. What a player.

Yes today was massive compared to game against spurs but I have to wonder if it is due to quality of the opposition defender. Lovern pretty much allowed him to do whatever he needed to today, and as Liverpool don’t play with any shield in front of the back 4 there is a little more space where against spurs Dier was in there cleaning up in front too.

I am happy with him tho, his willingness to work and self confidence are special. He is still only young too. Keep it up Rom

Wait.. this is the second big game against top team Lukaku performed well and made significant contributions to both goals. Big game curse confirm over. He did made a significant assist for Martial against Spurs which have to be acknowledge. His performance against Chelsea is still the best and against Liverpool very recently is more convincing.

He did quite decent against Tottenham at OT. Even made the assist, but because he didn't score until now (hit the post in that Tottenham game), the media built up the whole narrative and people bought into it. Perhaps Tottenham is not a big team, huh?

I like how he finally has become aware that he is a pretty big guy, and impose himself.

Didn't even get a chance at goal today but was still crucial, that's what really matters.

People questioned me when I said he was Mourinho’s new Drogba.

I stand by it. His all round game is tremendous.

His hold-up play still needs to improve significantly, but it does seem to be getting better. If he can continue improving that he'll be incredible in two years or so. It's by far his biggest weakness IMO, considering what he could be doing with his size and power.

"Lads, it's Tottenham".

 But seriously, his performance then is like the rest of our players overall poor by our standard. That aside, Lukaku is easily one of our best player in that game. Overall performance of his in that game is still not convincing enough for me. This one against Liverpool is much much better.

Yeah. I pick the word decent for that performance for that reason. It's not overall imposing, but the work was there. You would be involved in many of few good moments in the game, if you don't perform at all; which the media and many people believe up until the Chelsea game.

I think that has to with Lukaku requires target to aim for air balls with players making that advance runs overlapping him. He's much better doing that kind of heading forward pass than back pass or side pass. There isn't much players for him to aim towards to with how we played and Liverpool gaining more posession upfield 2nd half and our 3 attackers had to do a lot more back tracking.

Edit: Couldn't remember a lot of good grounded pass towards him 2nd half for him to hold it.

My favorite was the way he sprinted to the half way line after scoring the equalizer vs Palace. It was as if he was possessed to win that game

He has as many league assists as Ozil, Eriksen and Firmino.

His assist tally is impressive considering the talk about him being clumsy on the ball. He's one assist away from equalizing Zlatan's number last season.

I think he deserves a promotion now. No more Sergeant Lukaku. Sergeant Major maybe?

Yeah, he seemed possessed. Incredible passion.

His all round game was superb today. Got an assist and bullied Lovren all game.

Well played Rom!

Lukaku is only 24. Drogba was 26 when he came to Chelsea. Lukaku is hard worker and I can't wait to see how will he look 2 seasons from now when he starts entering his peak.
