Two very good goals tonight and a good overall performance. If we seen this more often there would be no complaints.

His best match so far definitely, without Pogba he really took the mantle and was great. He needs early thru balls and with Sanchez and Mata he got that tonight which is very important.

Last few games his all round play has been excellent. All season he's been quite good at playing others through but his hold up play has improved

Pretty much everyone who had seen Lukaku at Everton, Chelsea and WBA could tell you, put the ball in front of him and he’ll do damage. He is not a target man. Ball put in front of him twice tonight and he has two goals. Hopefully the penny has dropped with the players and the manager.

That was certainly my impression before he came here, and at the start of the season. But there have been lots of games where his hold up play has generally been excellent. His passing in the final third is generally pretty clever and incisive. And there's a level of selflessness there that I definitely wouldn't have expected to see. Today his hold up play was great I thought.

Everything he does looks inelegant all of the time and clumsy much of the time, but he's got more to his game than goals. If anything I've been less impressed with his goalscoring than his all round play. He doesn't have any real capacity to score a goal out of nothing and he is definitely a confidence player in front of goal.

To me it looks like he's trying too hard and putting too much pressure on himself. A good world cup with Belgium after a 30 goal season in his first year at United could alleviate that massively and see him reach a new level next year.

He would never have been my first choice but I'm surprised people are so harsh on him here. He's certainly been good enough.

Really good today.
Worked his socks off like he usually does, but he actually made runs behind the defence today. Something he hasn't done enough of in recent matches.

He's been far too static at times but he looked full of energy and mobile, good to see.

Great finishing too!

Both goals featured excellent play and clinical finishing, saved the day for us as we were so poor all over the park.

Magnificent today. I’ve been critical, but his game is getting better and better every week.

I'm one of his biggest critics on here but fair play, he was great today. Hopefully he can reproduce that against the big teams.

Yeah he certainly at times this season has had decent hold up play. On average tho to get the best out of him it’s putting the ball in front of him be it down the channels or just him running on to something. I personally wanted him because I’ve seen him make those runs before. He creates space which for me is something Zlatan didn’t do so I was hoping him doing that would bring out the best of Martial and Miki operating behind him.

Unfortunately this season it feels like we mostly just lump the ball in to his direction and expect him to perform a miracle and pull it down against 2 CB’s control it and then set something up which for me isn’t the best use of his skill set.

Dont want to sound like i am slagging him off but seems he deals with things better if you try to play football with him then if you hoof it and expect to hold it every single time, specially if long ball isnt precise.

In what way could anyone construe that as being critical?

I really loved how he kept moving behind defenders every time our attackers got the ball. He made himself available for our players to pass to so he gets his service. More of the same please.

Main difference for him tonight was that he had space to run in behind and he actually got some service. He's been mostly playing well since he got over his blip, he just hasn't had much service.

Been playing well lately. Let's kick on and move up a level. I wanna see him run those City, Chelsea and Spurs defences ragged next season.

Delighted for him, great performance. Worked hard and was showing the progress in his general play even before this one, so well deserved.

MOTM and a great game from Rom. This is what we need on a regular basis from him. I wish he had that ferocious mentality Ibrahimovic possesses, he has the physical attributes to strike fear in any CB out there in the world by just being more mean and aggressive in the physical battles.

Tonight he played just like everybody wants him to play. Quick, strong, used his strenght perfectly and scored both his chances. Can't expect much more than that. Hope he keeps it up now and goes on a run with goals! He could easily hit 30 before the end of May!

Rom has been the one player actually doing his job recently. Even against Newcastle he was running the channels, making through balls and so on. Glad to see us play to his strengths for once with the early forward balls. We need to do much, much more of that though. Still too much dawdling in possession from the other 10 players for my liking. We need to play to Rom like we used to play to Ruud.

He looked immense today. This is sort of what I expected when we bought him. Need to see it more consistently.

Thing is, we don't have a Beckham to provide as many goals for him.

He is a different animal to RVN, who could only dream about this guy's pace, and depended on the team to play to his strengths. Lukaku brings others into play better but is not as clinical in front of goal yet

If the chances fall to him against Newcastle he scores those as well.

Look what happens when you play to Lukaku's strengths. He is NOT a target man ala Drogba he is much better playing on the shoulder of the last defender with quick through balls into his path. His link up play has come on really well this season and it's obvious he's worked hard in training to improve it.

His performance didn't surprise me. I've always said it, feed him well, he'll bang in the goals. Plus, his linkbup play was never as bad as some made it seem. Romelu will only get better. I am waiting for when he will have a superb midfield behind him.

Think he's been outstanding for a while now, brilliantly taken goals tonight too. Keep it up Rom.

I love that he's spreading 40 yards passes
He also brought the ball down beautifully a few times. He's improved his all round game and hopefully will reach 30 this season.
