Roland Garros 2009

Its pretty apt considering you're obsessed with the little argie and think he's a great professional apparently. You're opinion is highly flawed sir, i highly doubt i'm the one who needs to get a grip.

IMO tennis is in extremely good hands right now wen it comes to professionalism of the top players. Even if one of them says one or two things out of character i wouldnt really hold it against any of them because generally they all handle themselves extremely well.

THeres a million threads, none made by my obsessed self regardling the little argie so if you want to discuss him or my obsession with him i suggest you do it in the football forum because this is the roland garros thread, it's about tennis and if the only way you can belittle me is to bang on about Messi then i think you should give up trying.

The top players do all conduct themselves well i dont disagree with that, i just think a lot of people forget what Federer was like before he was the undisputed king of tennis and also in the past year he's shown big cracks in his "Mr Nice Guy" personality due to Rafa besting him and to a lesser extent Murray and others.

Federer is not the ultimate in gracious sportsmen and i really think anyone who truely believes that hasnt watched his career very closely. Great champion he is and a legend of the sport he will forever be but i dont buy into the "he's the nicest guy on the tour" bull shit.

No i'll do it here thank you very much. My point was relevant and hinted at your hypocracy and bias.

Do you know Federer personally? How do you know he's not one of the nicest guys on tour? How do you know its bullshit? Typically armchair spectator, thinks he knows everything about every player watching an interview or two.
Does everyone not go a few notches down in their niceness when they fall from grace? Its only human to do so, and Federer's fallen severely in the last two years and personally i'd expect him to be a lesser of a nice guy.

You're clutching at straws now. You're actually condemning people thinking he has a hear to gold more than anything else. I dont think anyone thinks he has one. But of what the world has seen he's been a class act.

I have a feeling he's going to lose this 5th people.

Seriously why care if he's gracious or not ?

It's nice to see some class but it's not that important especially if there is a player as good as Federer.

The only top player who I think has a bad attitude is Djokovic.

(Eagerly awaits the Serbian invasion)

Aye, he seems a bit flaky.

His 'injuries' come at pretty opportune times for him too.

gotta give it to Haas here, showing some real fight

You are pathetic, my hypocrasy and bias?

because i dont lick federers ring with the rest of them? Federer was a player i loved when he was in his pomp but as soon as things started going a little wrong he lost a lot of cred in my opinion.

Even in madrid i think it was i was watching him screaming and throwing his racket around. Now i dont care if a player does that but not players who 99% of the time come across like they are better than that.

Anyway, you have a hardon for Federer, fair enuogh he is the greatest player i've ever witnessed but i dont share your admiration for him, now get over it.

Got to feel for Haas, but only FEderer can demoralize an opponent like this.

GSM! :D

Haas played a brilliant match for the first two and a half sets, then started to lose the serve a bit and make some ue's. Credit to Federer he looked down and out. Not sure if this sort of match will help him or not but it's always good to know you can win from that position.

I do think Federer will need to improve for the quarter-finals though. Monfils or Roddick is it? Monfils would have him today.

Tsonga vs Del Potro

Vs

Robredo vs Kolschreiber

Roddick vs Monfils

Vs

Federer

It's ridiculous, number 3 player in the world, always fair play on and off the court, you really have to be cockeyed to think he has ever won by cheating.

On the other hand Federer does not hesitate to not pay credit to his opponents, Murray, Djokovic, Nadal until the latter destroyed him, from then on prompting the Swiss to call the ATP world tour a "two horse race".

Other half of the draw is...

Soderling vs Davydenko

Vs

Murray vs Gonzalez

By the way, why are BBC showing this Fabrice Santoro speech thing? It's in French and I've still watched it all.

I like the Tennis threads on here as they are usually less full of Internet gayness.

Let’s keep it that way you queens, especially now Nadal’s pink clothing has gone! :D

Federer has got some improvements to make if he wants to finally win this.

He played very well for large parts of the match, give him some credit.

And give credit to Federer for the comeback.

Be positive you misery guts!

i didnt get to watch it, just shitty text up dates on the bbc sports website.

I'll catch the highlights tonight and yeah credit is due, to be two sets down and come back is fantastic, hats off to Roger for that :)

Kohlschreiber looks a bit like Antonio Cassano by the way, and Cassano looks a bit like Val Kilmer, and Val Kilmer makes KeyserSoze wet.

Serena Williams post-match thoughts: "Women's tennis is better than men's tennis, there's no comparison. I'm on the tour, great personalities like Jelena are on the tour. It's way cattier, so it's better to watch. Women are just cattier in general. We're so passionate about whatever we do, ladies just are, and maybe we have more passion and that's what makes it so intense. It's just really exciting."

I'm sorry Serena but the WTA is a joke.

Fair enough, can you not get the live feed from the bbc site?
