Robin van Persie

The summer when Flamini & Hleb left, Fabregas was our player of the season then, so our best player stayed.

The summer when Adebayor & Toure left, Robin Van Persie was our player of the season then, so our best player stayed.

The summer Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy left, Wilshere was voted Player of the season then, so our best player stayed.

So your point is invalid.

So, Wilshere leaves next season but Song is named player of the season.

Song leaves the season after but Chamberlain is named player of the season.

Chamberlain leaves after one more season and Cazorla is named player of the season.

You're right, your best players aren't leaving at all, Trionz!

No you were just asked to bend over, so Rooney can penetrate and God damn his agent did well to rip you lot off.

Yeah, keeping our best player, eh? What were we thinking! Better to sell our best players every year (but make sure they're not voted player of the season that year or else everyone would click on) and go for the Not Blackmailed Cup!

Look at you, playing the 'we kept our best player' card, while completely aware of being disrespected by said player.
Go on, screw any self-respect your club has.
I bet, you guys will willingly raise a statue of Rooney in future, even after he shat all over the same club not so long ago.

Thank you.

But back to the point of why your best players always leave...

There you have De Selby.
Get that false notion of yours out of your head.

Look at you throwing a tantrum because all your best players are leaving.

Winning the player of the season award at Arsenal will soon be like winning a biggest dick competition in China, only the eventual winner is actually the guy with the second biggest dick because the real biggest dick is leaving.

Jesus, Trioz. Talk about missing the point. Quite simply, to stay at the top, you need top players. You are allowed as a club to make a statement by not offering obscene money so that players don't shove you'll around. But if it happens once too often, you have to ask yourself whether you're going to have to accept reality and let them go and fight for fourth place or just bite the bullet and pay a few who have served the club for a long time some amount of wage parity with other world class players.

You can keep claiming that Rooney took us for a ride, but fact remains that we retained him which shows that every once in a while, United is willing to do what it takes to stay at the top.

:lol::lol:
This post makes me laugh when you consider the player of season at Arsenal, was actually Player of season for the entire league, last season.

Well that is right, we have biggest dick in Robin Van Persie in the entire league, of you all.

Cue cider making a dick trophy joke, as he is very original at that.

You didn't even do that. You straight forward panicked.

Sure, that's what you'd like to believe since your club's stance doesn't seem to be working. We've had people leaving, wanting to leave because we weren't willing to pay some obscene amount.

Frankly, its a vicious cycle. You'll have so steadfastly stuck to your wage policy (which frankly is quite disjointed from reality) and resulted in your top players constantly leaving. Meanwhile, we've managed to retain players which has kept us at the top which in turn allows us to pay even higher wages due to increasing revenue.

Now, I'm a big believer in financial prudence and if Arsenal genuinely didn't have the money to pay, then good for you. But then trim your expectations because you aren't going to be contending for the title.

Breaking News: Arsene Wenger confirms that Arsenal haven't ever lost their best players and never will.

I didn't express my ambition anywhere. We are well aware that as long as club selfishly inflate the game, so as to fend off competition, winning things will be difficult for everyone else.

You are telling me that we are disjointed from reality.
It's quite the contrary indeed.
30m to buy a player and then paying him 200k/week on a 4 year contract is not a reality.
It's stupidity.
That 68m for a players' service.
In my real world, that's insanity. But go on, please justify how they are worth it, because football is such a precious thing to exist.

Yeah, take a moral high ground of "oh will you look at the working class and how much they earn" to win an argument.

Are you seriously telling me that we're financially imprudent. Because, debt aside (which wasn't due to the clubs misdeeds), we're the best financially run club. Our wage to revenue is lower than yours. So yeah, if you're trying to say that while keeping the overall wage structure in mind, we've managed to pay Rooney and some others top salary and have managed to win things because of it, then you're right.

The point might be lost on you, but United has the capacity to keep paying these wages because we keep winning. And we have cash to blow because of it. Which Arsenal would too, if they just get their heads out of their ass and see that top players don't like getting paid 80K a week anymore. Stop trying to negotiate contracts in the last year. Give decent appreciation. Show some determination to win some trophies.

Arsenal are too weak at the back to compete for the title. They could be scoring goals for all they want with all the new players and even RVP but without a solid defence (goalkeeper included), it won't be enough

player of the season does not mean best player.

Heinze was never our best player for eg.

:wenger:

It's the players who need to get their head out of their ass.

 Yeah, City, Barca, United, Chelsea, PSG, Liverpool, Real, Milan, Inter, Juventus, Anzhi ... all offering 100+ to you, but yeah, 80K a week is acceptable.

The gap that Arsenal give and what clubs at the top provide keeps growing every year. Its no longer 20-25K a week. Its stretched to 80-100K now. Plus a chance to win trophies

So you can continue to live in a deluded world and call the world big and bad and keep sliding down the table or face reality and find your way around it.

I wouldn't laugh too much at Arsenal since we may well end up like them in the near future.

I am talking about football in general. In desperation of success, people are actually justifying 200k a week.

PSG, Liverpool, Inter, Anzhi? chance to win trophies?

Of course we will

The gap between United and clubs like Shitty, PSG, Barca, Chelsea and Real provide is big. We still rely on Giggs and Scholes who are close to their 40s and we have yet to find someone to replace them adequately. Meanwhile quality players like Tevez and Ronaldo have left the club + the likes of Pogba and Fryers who represented the future of our club have left too.

Arsenal spend less money then us and are in a worse situation. However we spend less money then the likes of Shitty and co. We are still competing because SAF's is capable of performing miracles with limited budgets. However SAF will not last for long.

If we pass from a barren spell + we cant pay the salaries that other big clubs offer then our players will start thinking whether we're ambitious enough or not. It happens everywhere, Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter....

:boring: cmon man try better and ffs liven up, dont you live in the sun somewhere? Be happy!

Why should I? I like your posts. There are baised but funny. I wont argue with someone who makes me laugh.

Um PSG and Inter have decent chances at trophies I would have thought. Especially PSG with all the backing they have. Stupid example.

PSG have now, probably.
Everyone said the same last season as well though.

Inter..no chance at all. They are prime example of what happens when you pay too much wages to players without thinking of long term stability.

Look at Milan, desperate to rid of Ibrahimovic & Silva, stating they saved millions on wages.

Is is justifiable when sponsors are willing to pay many £millions each yeah to the most successful sides; the Glazers wouldn't pay wages that couldn't be justified. The clubs owners have decided that Wayne Rooney is worth £200k a week to Manchester United FC; that decision is theirs and theirs alone to make, it's not your decision and it's not our decision; a decent businessman will pay for an asset up to and including the value of the asset to the company, either in immediate terms or as an investment in potential. This same principle dictates wages in all walks of life, in all professions and at all levels of pay; Rooney gets paid £200k a week because he's worth it to the company he works for, that's all the justification that is needed. People on lower wages may complain that these amounts of money are extreme, but then so is the players talent; if we could all play football like Wayne Rooney then you can guarantee he'd get paid minimum wage and no more.

The sugar daddy clubs are somewhat different of course, but even they only pay a player what he's worth, except this time the value is driven by prestige and preeminence rather than profit in much the same way that fine art is oft traded; there is, afterall, more than one way to justify the value of an asset.
