Fergie just confirmed Rvp fit for Saturday

Not sure if he's reliable, but it was retweeted onto my timeline.

I don't recall previous occasions of Sir Alex unofficially confirming team news late on the night before a press conference.

Back to underdog status for now.

Anything can happen, i wouldnt want us to be over reliant on RVP, the rest of the team should be in a position to contribute.

Doesn't look like its available in the US. First time I've had to find a stream for a league match in ages.

I do.

Take him off at the 60th minute if we're doing fine.

A lot of idiots were on show in these last few pages.RVP is much better fitness wise than 2 years ago.One precaution measure and it's back with the "he's injury prone" comments.

Its 50/50. Welbeck and Henandez need games. Wouldnt mind him on the bench.

I hate that phrase, we know, all players need games.

But United need the points more than individuals need games so dropping our best players to accommodate others shouldn't be done willy nilly.

Hopefully we can get the contest over by 55/60 mins and give the best lads a rest and the others a good half hour.

For me we should be playing the best team possible for every game other than dead rubber games and games against very much lower league opposotion.

Getting team selections wrong cost us dearly last season.

Do you lot expect RVP to start?

I don't. Why risk it? We should have enough for Wigan at home.

Keep RVP fit for Galatasaray and, more importantly, Liverpool.

It's too early in the season to worry about resting RVP IF he is fully fit. And IF he is not don't start him. I know everyone is worried about his chequered injury past but we really can't just not play him for fear of injury. Taking Wigan lightly would be a very dangerous scenario

If he's 100% fully fit then I agree. However I don't see how that can be the case if he felt anything whatsoever in his thigh just 3 days ago.

Considering I'm sticking with him as the captain of my fantasy team SAF would be doing the club and great disservice by not playing RVP for the 90mins.

Van der Sar reveals role in Van Persie transfer

Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has revealed how he convinced former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie about moving to Old Trafford.

Van der Sar says they spoke about two of his former clubs in Juventus and United, both of whom were keen on the player - but United dominated the conversation.

"He called me up and said other clubs were in for him, but because I played for two of them, United and Juventus, he wanted to hear my thoughts about them," he is quoted by the Daily Telegraph.

"So we spoke for five minutes about Juventus and 55 minutes about United.

"He wanted to know how good United were, what he would find there, how the players are, what Ferguson is like, how they train, how the system works.

"He has shown his quality already. I read a statement from Ryan Giggs, saying that United have signed good players and good talent before, but that this one [Van Persie] has everything.

"He has the whole package already, but that doesn't always mean it will work of course. Look at Fernando Torres at Chelsea. His first year was difficult, but I think the signs with Robin are good, though."

I fecking love VDS! Legend!
