SAF: "he's what we needed for the last couple of years...in team talks he was always a problem for us..I've taken the problem away .."

Quality

MUTV is pissing me off. I need to go sleep. Its 6:20am in California and I have been waiting for the bloody press conference the whole night. Buggers! Show the interview already.

'Just remember one thing son, Kagawa isn't a striker.'

MUTV are not showing this live, what a terrible TV channel this is.

Thanking Arsenal and Wenger. Thank feck.

He owes them that at the very least.

Nice from RvP to thank Arsenal and everyone there for his time there. Are you watching, Hargo and Tevez? That's how you do it, you cnuts.

Hopefully Wenger and Arsenal thanked Van Persie for securing them Champions League football for the past couple of years

As the clubs official channel, you'd expect them to be getting exclusives like these before the likes of Sky.

I would agree with that. It seems to be a channel that know nothing about what is going on at the club. It used to be good, but now there seems to be too many inside politics, especially where the owners are concerned. You can't ask about anything to do with that. They need a complete overhaul. Maybe there have been money cuts somewhere.

Q. Are you happy with your squad now, do you think there will be any more business to be done now is it pretty much it?

"No, I think it's maybe one other position, but we've spent a big bit of money and if I need to go to the Glazer family then I am sure they would say yes but it's only if a certain player was, became available then we would take it."

To the <Insert name here> thread

Signed him for only £2.7m. Nice little profit they have made there.

Yes, it's arguably a very effective smoke & mirrors act Arsenal have had going for a while now: apparently, the departing players are all greedy, and wantonly betray the club and their manager; alternatively, the board is solely to blame rather than the man who's achieved near-miracles in making Arsenal competitive. Neat little act, this, and fans lap it up because it's more palatable than what may be the truth. And that truth may well be very different to this public charade: one has to ask why - if the evil, self-interested board is culpable - does Wenger not speak up and defend his own reputation? Why are the board happy to be the scapegoat? And why is the club content to scrape into the top 4 each season rather than truly challenge? I'm guessing that these 'money-grabbing', 'disloyal' ex-Arsenal players might know the answers to the questions, and these answers would be in stark contrast to the propaganda Arsenal have been putting out...

When asked about playing with Rooney you can see him think "why the feck are you asking about Rooney and not Giggs or Scholes!"

God these journos sound so miserable and ask such dull questions.

Vivid if slightly warped imagination at work there, you should write a novel.

RVP:

"I'm not angry with anyone at Arsenal and they're not mad at me"

“When I have to make tough decisions in my life I listen to the little boy inside me. That little boy was screaming 'Manchester United'"
