"Just a few more things to do. Has Scholes hit the tree for you yet?"

He's going to be fecking brilliant isn't he? I've never been this excited for a new player.

I know these quotes have already been posted from another source but since this thread is moving so fast I'll repost them. They're pretty reassuring as to his motivation in looking to move, though I'm sure money also played a big part. Thankfully there was no mention of a fecking 'project'.

Yes there's no doubt he'll be one of the top earners, and Arsenal fans will call him greedy or a mercenary but it's pretty clear that the man wants to win silverware.

He's 29 years old, one of the world's best strikers and what does he have to show for it? Nothing is what. He's came here to win things, no matter how others will say different.

Remembering back to what Sir Alex had said the summer we signed Berbatov about finding someone to play with Rooney and what Berbatov would bring, he said he thought we should perhaps get someone bigger than Rooney and of Berbatov he said he'd bring composure in the final third

RVP brings both those things.

Also remembering back to when Sir Alex said he was interested in David Villa I believe it was just after Villa had played for Spain on the left. Van Persie, like Villa, has played on the left as well as being a top striker through the middle.

He's a good looking bastsrd ain't he?

Never really noticed it before.

Looking at these pictures still feels like we've just invited a guest to the first team's training.

Great to see that the signing has become official. Will be good to see him in a united shirt this season

I haven't been this excited about a signing in ages. This summer has been just fantastic for us so far, and there is still time as SAF said for one more (probably left back). Before we signed him I was a little hesitant because at the same time I didn't think we were going to get him actually. But feck me, RVP is a united player!

this :D

I genuinely don't know what our best XI is this season. Exciting times.

Like that team...Im sure we'll see it at some point as well. maybe against one of the lesser lights to see how Kagawa adapts to the role....

The show is called Robin van Persie interview. They'll show the interview before the presser. Wasting time now.

So Carrick will have to do all the defending in the midfield, not too sure about that.

It seems the best team to me.

If Rio & Vidic can recapture their great defensive partnership, Carrick hopefully carrying his form into the new season, Valencia and Nani tearing up the wings, Kagawa playing just behind the two strikers, who of course are Rooney and RVP........it's too much!! alkdsluiosj;lajlkdjflkdsfjlkd :drool:

Are they even going to show this press conference live?
