I wish I was a random poster, logging on in the morning to see this thread filled with posts about Cows, Milk, Toy Story and sexual tension between period Rossi and Neviller and nowt about RVP...It would be quite strange

Nowt strange about sexual tension between The Neviller and Rossi. Embrace it, man. Let the Tom Daley inside you come out. As it were.

RVP is the first player since maybe Cole/Solskjaer that no one would ever criticise from what I have witnessed...I've heard people bad mouth Cantona, Giggs, Keane, Beckham, Rooney, Sheringham etc etc but never heard a bad word about them three....Even when Cole was awful for us, we constantly sang his name....

Point is, if this is true, Moyes will have lost a lot of backing and support from the vast majority of fans

We should probably - nay, definitely - wait with all of this until it actually transpires that RVP wants out. And I doubt that'll happen - it's just too bloody stupid to be true.

But what you imply here, if I get your meaning, is that a vast majority of our fans would be liable to back RVP - a player who has been with us a mere full season - over the manager? The manager Fergie himself wanted to succeed him? I just don't buy that. Not unless it should turn out that Moyes has acted like a complete arse towards RVP. And the rumours don't imply that. If there's anything to them, RVP feels betrayed by SAF - or something. And possibly angry and confused by Moyes' training methods.

But - again - it's surely too fecking silly to be true.

Trust me mate, if RVP came out tomorrow and said Moyes was an arsehole and had shit methods, the vast majority of United fans would be calling for Moyes' head. Rightly or wrongly....Even right now, if RVP just put in a transfer request, everyone would jump on Moyes' back.

Right now, I'm getting the feeling that Moyes is just one slip up away from the fans really getting on his case. There just seems to be that atmosphere/ feeling in the air.

I don't know if it is true or just bullshit rumours but football fans are fickle...A vast majority of us would lose our shit with Moyes if it is true

Man, i cant believe this shit. RVP has possibly handed a transfer request and now Rossi and TN have shown their love for one another, its all coming out now.

They've both been bubbling over for a while.

Christ, I'm drunk. I'm away to bed before period Rossi takes advantage of me.

Nah, I remember Rooney being great for us when many on here, and United fans in general, were saying RVP was a twat and a bit of a prick when he played for Arsenal. I remember Rooney out scoring him and helping us win countless trophies. Rooney gets a ridiculous amount of stick on here when it's clear he has more stickability than RVP. Which one of the two was quickest to jump ship? Rooney is and will be a United legend, RVP is a hired gun.

If they were both here for the same amount of time, RvP would have outscored shrek by a country mile a long time ago. It's easy to jump ship when you're only competing for 4th place.

In terms of pure technical ability, RvP is the better player. He's also the better goal scorer of the two, so what more do you want?

Sad state of affairs, then. Call me crazy but I'd say a polite good riddance to RVP if he handed in a transfer request for the reasons mentioned. He's a top player and I appreciate what he's done for us - but he's hardly the heart and soul of Manchester United.

Still, no point in getting further into what is hopefully a purely hypothetical scenario.

It's funny how people wanna knock you when you're down isn't it! I can't believe this is true but if it is, we'll start to see what certain players are made of and if they want out after a tricky set of results that they contributed to then see ya fellas! If Robin is one of those then thanks for letting us know, now on yer bike. You play for the club and respect the manager! I am as fecking annoyed as anyone about our current predicament and the start we have made, and I am fearing some awful results and performances are just around the corner, but there could be a silver lining to all this. That silver lining being that the squad needs a fecking huge overhaul that as each week goes by, seems to have new names added to the list of 'No balls, not good enough and too old!' Right now if they can't be sold then i'd line them up against a wall and shoot the feckers.I may review that thought after breakfast because it's a tough decision to make on an empty stomach!

Despite the misery, I can't wait to go to the game today because I want to remember this period because those good times are gonna feel so good when they return and actually, I don't think RvP wants out.I would be surprised if Rooney doesn't hand in a written in the summer though. If he does then he can feck off too.You wouldn't want some of these guys with you in the trenches would you?

Ridiculous rumour. RvP would put in a transfer request only if he had an offer from a better club than United. We wouldn't sell to Chelsea and Arsenal in January and I very much doubt that Barca, Real or Munich would want him now, given that they couldn't use him in the CL. Calm down guys.

Paper talk, a United in turmoil is big news, they're pissed off at how patient we are with Moyes.

I'm more longer term than that. Rooney is a bit of a twat, but he's currently our best player and has been for quite a while. Us having a new toy to play with last season doesn't change that. Rooney is Woody, RVP is Buzz Lightyear.

Who are the other players, out of interest? I have Valencia as Rex but beyond that I'm not sure

If this rumor gathers steam we'll have an announcement soon as per the obligations of the stock exchange as he's a valuable asset, if it doesn't then it's probably rubbish. Either way, we will know in 48 hours.

Because he wasn't winning any at Arsenal, so he moved to a team that was guaranteed to win one in his first season there.

And you are implying from Grinner's post that he will do the same to United?

I wasn't intending to, no. However, I wouldn't be surprised if we do completely implode this season (and by that I mean finish something like 9th) I don't think its beyond the realms of possibility that he'll get itchy feet. I highly doubt he wants to move already though (unless something really has gone on behind the scenes we don't know about). Atm I'd say its just media trying to make something out of nothing.

I don't know. I remember reading a couple of weeks back where he said that he is happy at United. Anyway, I dunno if the rumours are true or not, but I do hope they aren't.

The media is bollocks though. They started with Rooney, and now have picked up on RvP.

9th?

There is no possibility of that ever happening.

He's undoubtedly our best player but also causes problems in terms of fitting everyone into the team. Given his age it may be that selling him now weakens the team in the shirt term but allows for a more balanced team to develop for the next five years.

He must be pissed off having been managed by wenger and saf through is own choice and now being landed with Moyes.

Not really. He is still the best finisher in the squad. Even if you want to have the balance in the team, it would mean nothing if our players are slack at finishing. Not to forget, the current state of our wingers and midfield, which makes him all the more important currently.
