Honestly, after all the complaints Arsenal fans have had over EIGHT years without a trophy now, blaming Van Persie for leaving purely for the money is rather silly.

The fact Lawro said these whispers started being heard on Tuesday and today is Friday and he is the first one to let this information loose says it all. They're either having him on or he's a bit depressed after being pushed aside by the BBC and trying to gain a bit of attention.

You'd better hope he didn't just move for trophies.

It's an interesting point. Given that, if you lot's claims are correct, we are paying him all the pieces of silver he wanted, then if he does now feck off because we're a bit shit does that mean you're all proven wrong? I'd love to see Piers Morgan eating humble pie over the matter...

Where have I said any of that you giant melodramatic fecking tool?

Do you specialise in talking bollocks between posts that show everyone you haven't the faintest clue about what you're talking about?

Didn't you said that even if he win the lottary and give the money to fans they will find something to moan? And that the media and fans have jumped on him? And that players are to blame? And that 'thanks RVP, the door is open' or something like that.

It gives the impression that Moyes isn't at fault at anything but there is an agenda against him. Anyway, this isn't the thread for that.

Moyes might be at fault for some things but only a cretin would expect him to come in to this job and do everything right straight away.

I've also said, plenty of times that all isn't great, that Moyes has got a lot wrong and that he needs, and will be given time, and that while he's here we should do our best to try and support him.

Does that mean he's above criticism? No.

Have I said anywhere that he's gotten everything right? No.

That if he won the treble people would still hate him? No.

I said if he offered to discount ST some people would still moan.

There's a lot wrong right now but perspective is required, not that fans like you even know the meaning of the word.

The problem with the boards is that it's now impossible to have any sort of reasonable, objective debate about the problems we're having because there are so many melodramatic, fickle knee jerk fans running around posting walls and walls of hysterical bullshit.

And you're one of the worst offenders.

But you feel free to take whatever 'impression' you want from that. I'm sure you'll just make something else up if it doesn't suit you.

Relying on someone's word is stupid?

In certain circumstances, of course. Surely you don't disagree with that?

In this situation Ferguson is nearly 72 years old, at his age anything could happen which leads him to reassess the prospect of his retirement or his priorities in life.. His health for example or desire to spend more time with his grandchildren.

I don't see how anyone could be let down by a someone at Ferguson's age in such a ruthless/exhausting profession deciding to retire - it was always likely to happen.

RVP is the first player since maybe Cole/Solskjaer that no one would ever criticise from what I have witnessed...I've heard people bad mouth Cantona, Giggs, Keane, Beckham, Rooney, Sheringham etc etc but never heard a bad word about them three....Even when Cole was awful for us, we constantly sang his name....

Point is, if this is true, Moyes will have lost a lot of backing and support from the vast majority of fans

Can't say he has been for the last two seasons though man
I'm more longer term than that. Rooney is a bit of a twat, but he's currently our best player and has been for quite a while. Us having a new toy to play with last season doesn't change that. Rooney is Woody, RVP is Buzz Lightyear.

True but RVP was out injured for quite a bit with Arsenal to be fair to him.
Rooney is a knob but he's always been an important player for us. No doubt.

But since 2011, RVP has been a better player then him. Be it for Arsenal or us my friend

This season because RvP has been injured. When they're both fit it's clear RvP has more class. I guess you have a shorter memory than me.
Nah, I remember Rooney being great for us when many on here, and United fans in general, were saying RVP was a twat and a bit of a prick when he played for Arsenal. I remember Rooney out scoring him and helping us win countless trophies. Rooney gets a ridiculous amount of stick on here when it's clear he has more stickability than RVP. Which one of the two was quickest to jump ship? Rooney is and will be a United legend, RVP is a hired gun.

By that you mean Van Persie is better? You're right.

Get them to compare trophies. It's easy to love the newest great thing. It's easy to think your new cow is better than the cow you already had, just because it gives you a bit more milk for a year or two. But then you have to remember the cow that's given you lots of milk for years, when your other cows weren't giving much milk.

Nah, Woody was the main man. Buzz was a flash cnut who was shiny for a while when all was going well, but needed Woody to do the hard work for him when things got tough. He even thought his lazers worked.

To infinity and beyond my arse.

Would have been good if you had put the term "in another field" in there...Missed opportunity :(

But Buzz could speak Spanish. Could Woody? Could he feck.

I think you will all find that it's Carrick...Not because he is the best footballer in the world or anything but, without him in the middle we are awful and teams can easily rip through us
This season, I feel Rooney has contributed more than Carrick. That takes nothing away from Carrick but without Rooney, I don't know where we would be this season.
