Feel for him. Left Arsenal after being with them for so long, looking like they'll never win anything, so he comes to United, wins a title and then is put back into almost an identical position as he was at Arsenal, while they sign a world class player finally and look like they'll compete for the title

This does happen with top players a lot, Owen was a good example of this.

He left Liverpool after winning nothing of note to join Madrid who had just won the title. Liverpool then won the CL whilst Madrid won nothing, he then joined Newcastle and never won anything until his league title with United, which whilst it counts he didn't really have much involvement in. Anti Ibrahimovic syndrome.

Fergie said he assured RVP he would not be retiring....Then had to apologise to him for breaking his word/lying

And now we're in the position we're in....

Be interesting to see how things develop with RVP

Can't help but feel a bit sorry for him if that's true.

Taken a few knocks recently. Rested for the weekend. Says Moyes.

Yep, this is the obvious truth.

Saying he's dropped for a game that he was always going to be rested for anyway is pure moronic wishful thinking from Arsenal fans.
And they should probably enjoy the table while it lasts, as they aint winning shit!

Played in two games for Holland that meant feck all... Well, apart from getting the record that is.

Toe problems and groin injury according to MUTV. His toe was bad from Shakhtar away and the groin injury was from before the City game. Why weren't they allowed to heal properly?

Coincidence that we looked 10x better without him in the side, or a genuine cause for concern?

Our best performance of the season was probably against Leverkusen so I wouldn't say so. Had Robin been playing I think we would've scored more.

I think its more to do with it being in Europe. You looked even bettervs Leverkuson, and decent in the tough away game and good again tonight. But leagues as different animal.

Yeah well life throws shit at you and sometimes promises can't be kept because of it. Plus why the hell would you promise someone not to retire? Its none of RVPs business what Sir Alex did with his career.

Haha, funny that pic. My work involve reading people and the RVP face says what do you mean? Moyes is really clear about something, but I doubt this is a bust clash of any sort.

That image makes it look like they are in each others faces but there is plenty distance between them. The press and twitter looking to stir up trouble.Nothing to see for me here!

Anyone else slightly concerned that there might actually be something to those rumors that he's unhappy with Moyes training?

The fact he's starting picking up these niggling injuries that he's managed to avoid for the past 3 years, almost the minute Moyes comes in, is hardly reassuring :nervous:

How long before opposition defenders start stamping on van Persie's toes now?

Smart man, Moyes.

Press and oppo fans looking for a new United in turmoil story now the Rooney one has died down a little bit. Next week it'll be Vidic.

Scored one, assisted another but somehow it just doesn't feel like Robin's cooking at the moment.

To some extent its very understandable that Van Persie doesn't look quite himself, given how absolutely and utterly cak we've been in midfield the man has been feeding off of scraps. That being said when you compare his all round play to what he produced against Swansea, when he seemed able to magic goals and chances out of nothing, there's been a minor drop off.

The niggling injuries, talk of him playing with injections...is there a risk that Robin may prove to be one of the many whose age starts to bite this season? Has he reached the three games a week is too much for him stage now?

PS) Yes I know he didn't play 3 games this week I used it to illustrate the point

He looks like a player carrying an injury/injuries, to me. There was a moment near the end of the match, near the corner flag, where I noticed he was feeling his foot, and looked in some pain. I'd rather we let him recover completely, then make him play with injections and what not. It wont help us, or him, in the long run.

Hoever, United’s current top goalscorer reserved special praise for young starlet Januzaj who made a telling contribution to the game from the substitutes' bench. “He is a top player and I’m a big fan of his. I’ve seen a lot of young players down the years but I would have to say that he is in the top one or two. I see similarities in his game to mine 10 years ago, but he’s not the new van Persie, he’s the new Adnan.”

Januzaj is so good, we already have a 'new' Januzaj, and it's himself.

Chuck Norris isn't even the new Chuck Norris.

Wee bit of a bromance brewing between him and RVP. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

8 goals in 11 and a couple of assists too. Allround play hasn't been as good this season but he's still contributing quite a bit.

Hes clearly not fully fir as moyes has already clarified. Still got a goal and assist.

Might be just me, but does anyone sense than Van Persie generally don't acknowledge each other in the celebrations? They both set up each other, yet they didn't acknowledge each other for either goal.

What?

Also, if you mean what I think you are getting at, I don't understand how people have this idea. People are looking for things wrong with this team and the players and will make up stuff even when the facts in front of them prove them wrong.
