Nothing left to say. I feel smug that I've been saying on another forum for about 4 seasons that he's the best striker in the league. To think some of our fans were being as dismissive as to say in the summer 'well he's not better than Rooney, so would he come here to sit on the bench? Where will he play?'. Madness, he's far and away our best player.

Great bit of business by Fergie. He's papered over a lot of shitness at times this season for us though.

"Since arriving at MUFC, Robin van Persie has scored three stoppage time goals that changed the outcome of the match in United's favour."

What a fecking first touch, unbeliveable.

3rd best player in the world behind Messaldo?

If he keeps this form till the end of the season, and win major trophy or two, I think lot of people won't find him behind Ronaldo tbf.

And in return we'll give you yet another wave.
Heck, Arsenal could well get extra revenue from us this year.

I was think it will only be fair if we win trophies with RVP, we call up Arsenal and give them about 10mil more. We got RVP for too cheap, it is not fair. We should not be doing that to Arsenal. :p

He's a machine. I'd say defenders shit themselves when he gets the ball.

Catalytic, sublime and exponential.

I only said exponential because I like the word, the others are about RVP.

Agreed, ability on the ball there isn't anything between them, Ronaldo's just got that devastating pace. If anything, RVP's got a better touch as well.

Is RvP the best player in the Premier League?

Been the best and most consistent for a while, although it's not "by a distance". Rooney, Silva, Suarez are all brilliant players, and maybe not as good as Van Persie, they aren't a million miles away either. Still though, I love him. :D

Bet Wenger is in tears tonight and thinking "if only...."
Hehe. :wenger:

If anything he should feel pride in the way Robin has developed as a player. Not many managers would take up a troubled teen, or keep the faith with all those injuries.

To Wenger's great credit, he tweaked his position and made him a top Premier League striker. I can't think of another striker in England who could control the ball with one touch to set it down and another to finish.

First time in many seasons I feel we would have not been anywhere near the top of the league without RvP...

I think they would. And rightly so at that.

This guy is too good. He is making our United team look bad.

Honestly though, I knew he was goog, but I didn't think he was this good, but he is proving a class above. A truly great signing. 24m? Worth double and more atm.

fecking hell, I knew he was a good player when he sign for us, I didn't know he was THAT good!

Few years back Fergie was asked along the lines that if he could sign just sign one active player who would that be and he answered Van Persie.

It was hard to understand at that time and I genuinely thought he was being a WUM but now I can see it. Pity he didn't get his wish earlier.

Let's get Rooney back - see him hit top form and then do the same with Nani.

Then let's win the fecking lot.

And he gets rewarded by the disloyal, greedy cnut fecking off as soon as he gets injury-free for 18 months.

He's just unbelievable.

If it wasn't for the genius of Messi, people would be talking about RVP being the best player in the world along with Ronaldo.

You can't blame a 29 year old moving in search of medals Peter, Arsenal fans should be happy for him. Maybe when he's over the hill he might go back to you like Joe Coles done for West Ham.

First time in many seasons I feel we would have not been anywhere near the top of the league without RvP...

Only because Kagawa, Rooney, Nani and Vidic have missed huge chunks of the season. Had they stayed fit an RVP-less United wouldn't have had so many points, but I fancy we'd still be top. Truth is he's had to bail us out so much because we've been so poor defensively and the rest of our best players have struggled for fitness.

In other words, imagine how good we'll be when RVP isn't our only attacker in great form...

i think he means that a club as big as ours should have multiple players at his level like barca do. i.e. there shouldn't be such a massive gulf between our best player and the rest of the side.

There's a massive gulf in class in between Messi and Barca and Ronaldo and Madrid. He's as good as Ronaldo, none of this top 3 stuff. It's Messi-----------Ronaldo Van Persie.

What can you say? Amazing control and clinical finish, but it's the crucial timing of the goal that makes you love him for snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat.

Hard to say anyone has contributed more to the team this season than Mr. Persie.

Absolutely stunning goal. I was surprised that even he managed to score that. To take a 50 yard pass out of the sky, take 2 perfect touches and hit such a cool finish that quickly was special. I think that will be our goal of the season. Such incredible skill.
