Wonderful video. The great thing is that the season is not even 3 months old yet, and we've already got something like this. Imagine what it would be like by the end of the campaign, if he can keep his form up.

MANCHESTER UNITED are sweating over the fitness of Robin van Persie after he withdrew from the Holland squad with a thigh injury.
The in-form striker — who has 11 goals already this season — was expected to start up front in Wednesday's friendly clash with Germany in Amsterdam.
But United’s leading scorer will now miss the game after picking up the knock, despite playing the full 90 minutes of the club’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Van Persie now faces a race against time to be fit for United’s visit to Norwich on Saturday.

3 months on. Still laughing.

Both of them have pulled our as they are needless friendlys, and they are important first team players for us.

Rooney may of had a knock but RVP was perfectly fit, they will both start against Norwich imo.

What do you want more in a player than that. Wow, the video just brought home how amazing a player he's been for us so far. He's clinical, and must be one of the greatest volleyers of a ball in the history of the game.

His penalty against Liverpool is definitely my favourite moment of the season so far... the relief when that one went in!

This fella is going to win us the league...

Saw this on twitter earlier today

Robin van Persie cost £24m and has scored 11 goals in 3 months. Fernando Torres cost £50m and has scored 11 goals... in 2 years

am i the only person who finds this video bit meh. too sweet for my liking.

Nothing against it, but I've always been one for the cold hard compilation video. No music, no effects, just lots and lots of well-edited football clips. I absolutely love those 'Player X vs team Y all touches' compilations.

Agree completely, the best compilations scrap the music and show the action bits with the commentary and crowd noise still there, and those 'Player X vs team Y all touches' clips show a player in all his glory the good and bad of a whole game so much better

But obviously this video wasn't meant to be just a football compilation, it's a narrative piece, so that's not a criticism.

this is what I call footy comp. the one discussed is more of a little movie but it's horribly small-time.

I'm not sure why so many football comps these days have this ra-ra techno music in place of the commentary and crowd noise. You can't substitute the moment with music so why do it? Does it get more views? I'll take commentary and crowd noise over superb A/V editing any day.

Was listening to the Tuesday Club earlier today. Wenger was talking about the van Persie transfer.

- van Persie met wenger and told him he wanted to leave and wanted to sign for United.
- Wenger wouldve been interested in Hernandez or Welbeck as a part of the deal but we didnt offer either. Guess that is where the Hernandez transfer request bit came from straight after van Persie signed.
- City were offering Arsenal better players and offering van Persie 300k/week but he only wanted to sign for United.
- We started with a 11m bid and Wenger was pleased that he managed to get twice that amount.

He's been worth every single penny so far, and I can see him keep it up for a while for us. It was easily the most exciting transfer in quite a while at the club and to see it live up to every expectation gives me a fuzzy feeling.

He's rather dashing too, but I don't expect many to agree.

he aint too bad in the sprint neither ;)

I know I always say this but I'm extremely excited to see him play for us again tomorrow. I'm counting down the hours to see him in action for us, he's THAT exciting to watch for us.

My mum agrees with you, actually. But having seen my Dad I'm not sure I trust her taste.

1st time I am going to have a bitch about RVP.

He was poor today. Really lacklustre

Also the commentators were very kind IMO on his two chances which dropped over his head. I would expect a World Class striker to have done better with at least one chance.

The 2nd, after he had gotten it wrong he also never put his head up, as Hernandez was in a wonderful position.

Bah

Aye disappointed with RVP today, just didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck like I anticipated. Seems to be settling in still, he's was spinning off defenders when our players were expecting him to drop short.

Nah, I'm not going to criticize. It's like having criticizing Rooney or the other attackers after the Everton game. Pick a shit midfield and your strikers will struggle.

Moreover, I think one of RVP and Hernandez had to start. Or at least one of them had to play a little deeper. It made no sense to have them both so far forwards when the CMs have no legs.

I half agree with you in so far as he really should've squared it to Chico and should've scored but I don't think you can say he was poor. As a striker at Man Utd you usually would expect to have 3 chances to convert in a game and we didn't even give him that. The team as a whole was garbage. Had Van Persie somehow managed to score today he would've been Roy of the Rovers not Robin Van Persie.

He got 2 chances, one created by Giggs, the other Young. They were decent oppertunities. Of course you can critisise
