Wise man say never buy second hand player from Bayern. They always broken.

The squad has been slowly rejuvenized in case you haven't noticed and weren't it for two massive blunders by reserve players, we would have thrown out Real this season and would've had the very real chance to win it. I think you are overestimating the current appeal of United and, most specifically, it's manager.

Oh please. You been saying that for about four years now.

So what? All of those games bar one were very, very close and it could have gone our way pretty much every time. So, acting like it is impossible to win the UCL within the next two years is a tad stupid.

Ribery and Robben are getting older.

Muller isn’t in great form. Lewandowski clearly doesn’t believe you can win it. So yeah rejuvenated. Win another bundesliga with no competition.

Müller is in pretty damn great form actually. And Robben and Ribery couldn’t be relied on last year either and are phased out anyway. Was unfortunate that Coman was injured, he was stellar under Heynckes. Don’t just peddle tired old Reddit tropes ..

Agree with you that Bayern are better than many give them credit for. They were the better team in the semi-final, although Real seem to find a way to win games in the CL so can't say they didn't deserve the win either.

I agree with this Bayern fan, he can feck right off to whichever club he wants to go to as long as its not us. I absolutely despise people like Lewandowski he doesn't give feck all about the club or its fans its all about himself. He is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Bayern and he has disrespected them for an entire season by having his head elsewhere. Unloyal spolied pricks like him can stay the feck away from a club like this, I'd rather play with Quinton Fortune as a striker than this classless sod.

Unloyal spoiled prick? Bayern fans didn't mind that while bringing him from Dortmund on a free, eh?

Too bad Lewandowski didn't figure this out last summer, before we signed Lukaku. Bit late now.

I agree - we knew exactly whom we were hiring. Acting like the wounded innocence is not very convincing. He joined us, he scored a shitload of goals, and contrary to some others, he never bullshitted anyone about how much he loved the club etcetera.
He's a very, very good player and i'd hate to dsee him go, but that is how the business works.

To those phantasizing about a player swap: This is real life, not FM. Bayern never has done deals like this in the past and i don't see it happening at all in this case. It would be defying Bayerns DNA to let a world class player go and accept *some* player who is not really needed or wanted in return.

You are absolutely right. We knew what we would get. I‘m not up in arms at all, but I‘m not exactly shedding a tear either.

Fair comment. It is just how football works in most cases, getting wound up about him acting like this when he did it before to join you seems foolish to say the least.
As for him leaving, he has a contract until 2021, so if Bayern decide to let him go it will be under Bayern terms.

Ask Real about that Kroos guy...

Hargreaves was unlucky with injuries and buying Schweinsteiger was just stupid by Unkted. It was obvious age caught up with him.

Fantastic player, would hate to see him play for a premier league rival

Can see Guardiola and City going all out for him. Liverpool's pressing exposed the biggest flaw in their team, and having a striker of Lewandowski's presence would go a long way to mitigate that problem. Aguero and Jesus are too short for a simple outball, and Lewandowski can provide that as well as fitting in to Guardiola's football.

wise man said: look at the injury record (Lewa has none to speak of the last few years), and invest in a decent medical staff. Hargreaves and Schweini both were available for a medical and passed it.

(Whether or not there was Champagne and celebration in the Bayern boardroom after selling them is a different matter. As for Owen, i was sad to see him go. As for Schweinsteiger, i saw what was going on from my living room La-Z-Boy)

I think he's timed this poorly, realistically which clubs can afford both his fee & wages? It's a very small list... RM, Barca, PSG, Chelsea, United, City...maybe Juve and Liverpool.

Very few of them are better placed than BM to consistently challenge for the CL, which seems to be what he really wants.

I can only really see him at PSG or Chelsea, maybe Giroud will head the other way as part of the deal if it's Chelsea.

So he wants to challenge for the CL and he my join Chelsea, who aren’t even in the CL?

My point is I don't really see him moving because BM is such a good platform for the CL...I'm pretty sure he's said he wants the CL and I can't see RM wanting him, as there seems to be legs in the Neymar story, and Barca spent big on Coutinho & Dembele so I'd be surprised if they can afford him/have room for him. If he's open to London and just looking for money I think Chelsea will be desperate for him given how they struggled up top last season, although Giroud did well when he came in.

We don't need him because we've got Lukaku. Okay, Lewandowski is a better player but Lukaku is younger, performed well in his first season and we spent £80 million on him last year. So there is no chance we'll sign Lewandowski and rightly so I think.

who'd have thought I will see him so underrated here, he's much better than Lukaku, but zero chance we're in for him. Bit of a shame how his club career panned out, scoring so much at the highest level, yet far from legend status at any of the clubs.

He's a beast physically and barely ever injured. Extremely consistent and reliable. His technique is amazing and it's incredibly tough to separate him from the ball. But at the highest level, against the best of the world, he's a little too slow for me. Mentally, that is. In the important games, he's always a tad too late to the party. Especially when it matters, he can get completely lost behind his defenders. In the Madrid games, he didn't even attempt to move away from Ramos. He basically gave himself up, as a target in the box.
If you get him, he'll help you win the league. He'd be a good piece in the puzzle for the Pep-hunt. But once you make your way back to a champions league contender, you'll get frustrated with him.
I wouldn't mind him leaving, as long as we find a good replacement.

Would love him but don't see it happening with Lukaku here already.

Hope he doesn't end up at Chelsea.

We could be in for him if what papers are saying tomorrow about Lukaku are true

Sure looks like things have broken down between them

I doubt the new challenge hes looking for is winning the Europa League.

Could win the premier league though which he rather win than another Bundesliga.

He’d be perfect for Juve if they could afford him.

Lukaku said:
‘Everybody is thinking that me and the manager have some big issue but it’s not like that.

‘Me and the manager have a perfect relationship so we had a little chat after the game and everything is all clear.’
.

This. And quite honestly he looks past it and wouldn’t make them much better anyways.

Bayern don’t just let their top players go without reason. I’m sure they know he’s on the decline and why they’d even make him available in the first place.

...I just don’t rate him that highly. He’s not the same player he was a few years ago.

I don’t get this obsession with the whole “fitting in with Ronaldo” theory. How many attackers have really not fit in with him? I can’t think of any.
Fit personally.

Why do you think Benzema is always playing. Do you think Bale has been a good fit? Or James Rodriguez? It's not an obsession, it's common sense. Same reason why you don't see Icardi play for Argentina. You make sure your best player can play comfortably.

Oh so you think James leaving had more to do with him fitting in with Ronaldo than competing for a starting spot against the likes of Isco, Bale, Asensio? Also, I don’t think Bale has been a misfit, he has just been injured a lot.

It’s funny you mention the whole Icardi situation, i did not want to bring Messi into this conversation because i get the logic behind what you’ve written there, but this whole ‘fit issue’ is a more common occurrence with him. And I don’t see people genuinely questioning how a new Barcelona signing is going to fit in with him.

There's no question that Lewandowski is a great out-and-out striker and has delivered a feck ton of goals for Bayern over the past 4 seasons.

But truth to be told, it's not exactly the hardest achivement to score in Bundesliga (a rich man's Ligue 1) when you're playing a vast superior club.

And the competition for Torjägerkanone was honestly a joke. Aubameyang actually ended up as the joint 3rd top scorer of Bundesliga 17/18 despite leaving for Arsenal in January. And for a long time, he was actually the 2nd highest scorer until Volland surpassed him on 14th April.

Most serious fan in the football world knows that Bayern would win the title in Bundesliga even without Lewandowski (as they've shown before Lewy joined them), especially now that BVB are no longer as good as they once used to be.

Which only leaves Champions League as the only relevent competition for Lewandowski to actually prove himself.

Let's look at his numbers at CL KO-stage.

2014/2015

Round of 16

Shaktar Donetsk vs Bayern München = 0-0 — 0 goals for Lewy

Bayern München vs Shaktar Donetsk = 7-0 — Lewy scored the [6]-0 goal

Quarter-final

Porto vs Bayern München = 3-1 — 0 goals for Lewy

Bayern München vs Porto = 6-1 — Lewy scored the [3]-0 goal & [5]-0 goal

Semi-final

Barcelona vs Bayern München = 3-0 — 0 goals for Lewy

Bayern München vs Barcelona = 3-2 — Lewy scored the [2]-2 goal

2015/2016

Round of 16

Juventus vs Bayern München = 2-2 — 0 goals for Lewy

Bayern München vs Juventus = 4-2 AET — Lewy scored the [1]-2 goal

Quarter-final

Bayern München vs Benfica = 1-0 — 0 goals for Lewy

Benfica vs Bayern München = 2-2 — 0 goals for Lewy

Semi-final

Atlético de Madrid vs Bayern München = 1-0 — 0 goals for Lewy

Bayern München vs Atlético de Madrid = 2-1 — Lewy scored the [2]-1 goal

2016/2017

Round of 16

Bayern München vs Arsenal = 5-1 — Lewy scored the [2]-1 goal

Arsenal vs Bayern München = 1-5 — Lewy scored the 1-[1] goal

Quarter-final

Bayern München vs Real Madrid = 1-2 — Lewy didn't play

Real Madrid vs Bayern München = 4-2 AET — Lewy scored the 0-[1] goal

2017/2018

Round of 16

Bayern München vs Besiktas = 5-0 — Lewy scored the [4]-0 goal & [5]-0 goal

Besiktas vs Bayern München = 1-3 — 0 goals for Lewy

Quarter-final

Sevilla vs Bayern München = 1-2 — 0 goals for Lewy

Bayern München vs Sevilla = 0-0 — 0 goals for Lewy

Semi-final

Bayern München vs Real Madrid = 1-2 — 0 goals for Lewy

Real Madrid vs Bayern München = 2-2 — 0 goals for Lewy

As we can see, Lewandowski has 11 goals in 21 UCL KO-games since joining Bayern.

But apart from his goal vs. Juve from 15/16 season & Real Madrid from last year, he hasn't been decisive in big games. Lewandowski has mostly statpadding his numbers when Bayern were practically eliminated or when they're winning anyway.

And since his brace against Besiktas from the 1st leg of RO16, the Pole has scored a grand total of 0 goals this season. Which is nothing short but atrocious from someone who's supposedly to be the leading star for a top 5 club in the World. No wonder why Bayern fans are fed up with Lewandowski who goes missing far too often.
