Robert Lewandowski

If Real Madrid are not in for him then maybe it's either PSG or Chelsea?

Lewandowski has been one of my favourite strikers in the past 5 years, always wanted him here since his Dortmund days but I do not see how he would fit in at United, unless we play a 2 man strikeforce with Lukaku.

I do not want Lukaku benched as I want him to continue his development and do not see a 2 man strikeforce working unless we play something similar to the below diamond formation. Left the defence blank as I have no idea who will play and who we will sign!

It would be important for us to have 2 fullbacks who provide enough width and can CROSS the damn ball!! Lukaka and Lewandowski would be scoring headers for fun :D Sanchez can drift out wide if needed and can also be replaced in that position with Mata/Lingard or Bale if we sign him which I doubt!

------ De Gea -----
RB -- CB -- CB -- LB
------ Matic ------
-- Fred --- Pogba
----- Sanchez -----
-- Lukaku -- Lewa

We are his second most likely destination according to the bookies, not sure how'd i'd feel about it if we did sign him.

A lot of people suggesting Chelsea, I understand why they'd want him but surely he'd want CL football?

Only City and Chelsea will be interested imo. Rest of the clubs either already have good strikers or can't afford him.

Polish press has been saying that Madrid is definitely not an option. RM pulled out. Chelsea the most likely option.

It'll be Chelsea I reckon. Who else would replace their current #1 striker?

Would be great for Chelsea, if he wants to leave he's the best available striker.

I imagine Bayern will replace him with Werner.

The article references a swap deal rather than a cash buy. Who do you think Chelsea would be able to offer up in a swap? Hazard seems the only one of the required calibre but would he want to move to Germany with his heart set on Spain?

Won’t be Madrid I think, looks like they pulled off. Chelsea won’t do, Lewy wants Chanpions League. My money would be on either City or PSG.

Morata?

The only way City would go for him is if Aguero leaves. Rumours he fancies going back to Atletico, but there's always rumours he wants to leave, which turn out to be untrue.

That's a very narrow team tbh.

Want to win the league? Sell Lukaku, get Lewa. But Mourinho would never do that, and we'd never win the league with Lukaku upfront.

Would people be OK with us buying Lewa with Martial going the other way?
He's a pretty good striker but buying him won't solve any of our problems as personally I'm happy with Lukaku and the effort he's putting in.
I don't really expect Lewa to put in that effort considering he's probably looking for that last big paycheck.
Also loosing Martial to Bayern would mean we will never again see him at United as Bayern never sells a player unless he's of no use to them

It sure is, hence why we will not sign Lewandowski as the formation I put down is probably the best suited formation to play with the players we got, unless maybe we play with a 3 man defence and wingbacks for that little extra width.

Bye bye. Can feck right off, won‘t be missed and has been a burden on the team for at least two years now. Rebuild time!

But English Press saying Chelsea are interested in a swap deal is also ridiculous. Apart from Hazard, Chelses habe absolutely nothing to offer that would be of any interest to us.

You will sign Timo Werner, it's just bound to happen..

Probably. Him and Bale in one window would be quite something (but would also cost probably around 150 to 200 million euro)
I don't see Bale as likely. I think he would rather come back to England or possibly go to PSG. Both would also pay higher salaries, Werner to Bayern is a question of when not if in my opinion.

We wont sign him. Would say he will stay at Bayern, too expensive and Bayern wont get the better deal in a swap.

The only clubs he could go to would be City, Chelsea, PSG and Real. I dont see too many clubs keen on or desperate for him now, except for Chelsea

I agree with this Bayern fan, he can feck right off to whichever club he wants to go to as long as its not us. I absolutely despise people like Lewandowski he doesn't give feck all about the club or its fans its all about himself. He is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Bayern and he has disrespected them for an entire season by having his head elsewhere. Unloyal spolied pricks like him can stay the feck away from a club like this, I'd rather play with Quinton Fortune as a striker than this classless sod.

That's a deal that makes no sense. As we have no need for Lewandowski.

According to reliable German media (and with all our leakers, those media are usually extremely reliable) Bale wants to come to Bayern and pretty much only to Bayern. It kinda makes sense if you think about it, right about now Bayern is the only top 5 club where he can a) earn the money he will demand and b) be the franchise player. For the latter, his next move is the last chance he will get at an age of 28.

Could Atletico afford him? As a replacement for Griezmann?

What? :-D

Bayerns possible S11 in the next YEARS

Neuer

Kimmich - Süle - Mai - Alaba

Tolisso - Thiago

James

Coman Gnarby

+HS/Müller

Bayern did the best slow turnover of any team ever probably, still everyone without a clue only looks at Franck and Arjen and blurts out that Bayern misses that turnover.

But to stay on topic. if we can get a good replacement for lewa a sale is fine. Bale would be awesome, but we would still be in need of a new 9. Icardi, Griezmann and Dybala are unlikely. So we would have to go for Werner. So if -Lewa +Bale +Werner I'd be happy.
Who is Mai? Gnabry hardly screams last-tiers-of-the-CL quality. You still need to actually sign that number 9 to have that possible side in the next YEARS.

I'm hardly denying Bayern Munich have a great squad - they obviously do. What I did say was frugal turnover. They've let a few excellent players like Sane and De Bruyne slip through their cracks, due to maintaining their efficient 'slow turnover'. It works for what Bayern currently iterate - domestic domination - but CL superiority seems out of touch, should they remain faithful to their current approach.
Why would we want an average striker like Morata when there's guys like Werner in our own league?
I was merely entertaining Damien's suggestion.

This guy is a goal machine wherever he plays, would be a great signing for United, not sure who would be first choice if he did come though, couldn't see him and Lukaku starting together, unless there was a change in formation. 4-4-2 maybe.

Sadly I reckon you are right but I'd love to see Werner here. He and Lukaku would make a fantastic pair up top. Even if we played a diamond, their tendency to drift wide and their pace would ensure we weren't too narrow. People go on about Martial, but Werner is also 22 and whilst probably less talented than Martial, is extremely more effective. Unfortunately, he's exactly the kind of player Bayern seldom miss out on.

We will see, however it is pretty damning if not even the British players dream of playing in the PL. I think he would join United if a deal can be agreed between the clubs. Real would sell to Bayern at a lower price.

Gnabry might surprise a lot of people, to be honest. His development has been pretty astonishing and he might be the first late bloomer to reach world class football has seen for years now. Will be very interesting to see how he does next year.

Well, City doesn't need him, Chelsea isn't even in the Champions League, Liverpool can't afford him and United...well, you are hardly an intresting target for a move right now, to be honest. PSG has Neymar, Juventus can't afford him: Bayern makes a LOT of sense for him right now.

Well it depends on what the player is looking for. If someone wants to be really propelled a level up in their fame quotient, being the guy that takes Utd back to the top of England is a far more attractive proposition than being a cog in a Bayern machine that would win with or without him. Of course if a player just wants an easy ride to trophies, Bayern are the more attractive option.

He’s 29 soon and United seems years off properly challenging in Europe. Easy ride my ass, it’s just that if he wants to be the franchise player of a Champions League winner, we are his best bet.

If PSG are bidding for Ronaldo then Lewandowski as a fall-back option (!) seems likely.

Cavani likely to go back to Italy? Or maybe China..

Would be a RVP type signing. Improve us in the short term, help groom Lukaku. Would not be against it

Lukaku won't want to sit on the bench. Don't think we would go for him.

Hard to see which club other than Real would want him. Chelsea most likely or PSG at a stretch.

He should have left Dortmund for Madrid rather than going to Bayern. He already had won the Bundesliga twice with Dortmund. I’m sure he’d look at that as a regret considering Madrid have won the champions league 4 times since then.

Real Madrid had a certain Cristiano Ronaldo all this time, so going there would be the dumbest thing he could do ever. These guys could not play together, Ronaldo is the goalscorer and Lewa would not be the Benzema-type.

I think that's players and managers decision to make, no?

If Lukaku just resigns himself to a bench spot bc we sign Lewa there's a problem there. I expect a fight for the spot. Likewise, if Lewa is concerned about competition with a early 20s striker id also be surprised .

The competition will be good.
