They have still won more trophies and consistently qualified for the Champions League. They are a bigger club than Dortmund. Nottingham Forest have won the biggest one twiceDortmund have won less league titles but they've won the biggest trophy there is - Champions League (1997). And in recent times (last 20 years) they've won league just as many times if not more.

Didn't the same thing happen with a Ronaldo story and the club twitter account not too long ago? Somebody shopped up an image and spread it around the interne? Or had they actually hacked the twitter account?
Just read elsewhere that Paddy Power is already tweeting that they got the wool pulled over their eyes and that the whole thing is a fake.
something like that...how people fall for this shite I have no idea.
Mental stuff.
It affected their odds on the likelihood of the signing too, they'll need to improve their checks next time.
Rumours and stories like this ALWAYS affect the odds because they cause betters to make bets.
We have actually have the club genuinely announce a signing on the manutd.com website that didn't happen in the end. I am waiting until we see a player sat next to that weird looking David Gill replacement with a pen in hand before I get excited.

Who? Ramsey? It was announced that we had agreed a fee with Cardiff, not that we had signed him.
"Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms with Cardiff for the transfer of Aaron Ramsey."
It is a pretty solid lead though.

What about ljajic, even had him holding a utd shirt, and then that failed too
Even if Rooney leaves he is not the ideal replacement. Rooney doesnt play striker anymore, so there is no use replacing a CAM with a striker. And neither he nor RVP are going to be as effective if they play the CAM role. So if Rooney leaves, then I hope we sign a proper #10. Thats why I said earlier this guy is a want more than a need.Where will he end up? Don't think we will sign him, unless Rooney leaves.

But that was factually accurate? Don't see your point.
Oh yeah I so forgot about Kagawa! And what happens if he gets injured again? Who played there when he was injured for 3 months? You need two options in every single position. We already have one in Kagawa. If Rooney leaves, the best way we can replace him would be to bring in a left winger IMO, in addition to a central midfielder (which is needed anyways).
Lewandowski is obviously a great player, but I don't think we should get him, unless we plan on scrapping wingers altogether. If he came, then Kagawa would again be shunted to the wing with Van Persie probably behind Lewandowski, which isn't the way forward in my opinion, as good as he is.
What on earth are you on about? Are you saying we've played kagawa in something other than his preferred position in favour of Rooney?Kagawa is a big disincentive for class AMs to join Man Utd - you'll be fecked about and misused while we play fat boys is the message.
My point is a simple one: even seemingly solid leads mean nothing until the deal is signed, sealed and delivered. Thus, I will not be getting excited about transfer odds etc.

To be fair we have. What on earth are you on about? Are you saying we've played kagawa in something other than his preferred position in favour of Rooney?
