Would sort out this thread anyway. We're just agreeing to disagree yeah? As long as thats the case i'm happy!

Honeslty though, do you tink you'll be more successful in the PL or CL? His rotation bolox harms damages your chances IMO. Think he does it to justify all of his signings and the size of his squad. Barry is a good player but i'm not sure he is what you need. Reckon Keane was though, a quality striker was a must. Just think Gerrard will be pushed out wide now and ye will suffer as a result, which is better for us mind you.

Gerrard played most of 2005-2006 season out wide, & he played some of his best football of his career. We finished the season with our highest ever Premiership points total (82). Be interesting if he were to be played out there again, especially since we've recruited the likes of Torres, Mascherano & Keane since then.

Don't undo the good work. ;)

This "rotation bollocks" is as you put it bollocks. Rotation is one of those things which gets highlighted if you lose but doesn't get mentioned when you win. In the second half of last season rafa stuck to teh same system and the same players.

There was only ONE game which Torres didn't play when fit last season and that was just after he had a shocker against Marseille at home. Every player is able to be dropped.

Fergie and Wenger both rotate just as much as Rafa.

It remains to be seen where Gerrard will play but I would imagine he will play exactly the same role as last year.

Sorry, forgot to answer your question. If we can make a prolonged challenge in both I will be happy. I think Rafa is going all out for the PL this year but I don't buy into the theory that you must sacrifice one to compete in the other.

Fergie & Wenger make tactical changes. Rafa rotates.

Jesus fair play lad, great post. Had absolutely no relevance to the thread title whatsoever but whatever floats your boat.

I love when i prove people wrong and they just spout off shite. Happens quite alot with Pool fans actually.

Enjoy watching the big boys fight it out for the PL and CL.

How have you proved anyone wrong ?. You've merely put forward your opinions on a player that has yet to kick a ball for Liverpool.

You honeslty think Gerrard has played the some of the best of his career football out wide? Yet journalists, analysts and fans all can't understand why he is played out there?

So in 05-06, your highest points total was down to Gerrard out wide?

I'd be delighted as a United fan if he was always out wide, however in the big games he disapears IMO so it wouldn't bother me where he plays against us.

The Champions League final and the FA Cup Final are pretty big games. No?

Well i think a squad that has real strength in depth like ours and Chelsea's can compete for both in a significant manner. IMHO Liverpool don't have the quality to do that, not yet anyway.

Do SAF and Wenger rotate as much as Rafa? Uniteds back 5 is always the same with Rooney, Ronnie, Scholes and Carrick forming the rest of the team. Don't think it's similar at Liverpool, might have changed in the latter part of the season though.

Was Rafa's constant rotation not the bane of every Pool fan's life?

This isn't directed at something you said but do you honestly think Gerrard has played the best football of his career out wide? Is he not more effective behind the striker or in the middle of the park?

After that season plenty of journalist came to the realisation that that season was his best season yet, and he did play most of it out wide. It doesn't mean it is his best position, but it was his best season.

The Champions League final and the FA Cup Final are pretty big games. No?

Nope the FA Cup isn't big. If it were we'd be allowed to proclaim ourseleves the greatest team in English Domestic History. As it is Scousers don't allow FA Cup haul into Trophy arguments, wonder why?

Oh well guess we will have to wait till the end of this season before we release your finger nails from clinging to that perch.

Jesus you're a really big man with your condescending bolox. Show some respect and get off your fecking high horse. God forbid you were to walk around with the rest of us down here and you might realise the shite you're talking.

Regards the Keane transfer, he is a good footballer, simple as. As an Irishman, i'm dissapointed with his performances but tbf to the lad he runs himself into the ground everytime i see him play. However, the Pool still have only got two World Class players, with one of those dissapearing in the big games when he's needed. You will not win the League this year and that's just common sense.

BTW to compare Rooney and Keane is complete bolox, Rooney is in a league of his own and is still learning and improving. Keane is at his peak but unlike Rooney he doesn't have World Class ability. Torres is the only player i truely envy. feck it though, we're the best club team on the planet. Fact.
well said. pity the fecking eejit dipper fans on here cant just be honest about what theyre witnessing. big money for players that are not world class. if he was 22 I'd be the first to say maybe he needs time but hes as good as he;s gonna get and thats nothing to be worried about if you're a defender up against him

Excuse me? You were the one making the non-big and non-clever comments trying to be funny about hanging posters on the wall etc.

I'm talking shite for assuming (possibly correctly, I don't know) someone is a teenager for the childish comments he made in the previous post? Or I'm talking shite because I think Robbie Keane will improve Liverpool?

And my comparison between Keane and Rooney was absolutely spot on if you care to take off your rose tinted specs. I did not compare the abilities of each player against each other so you can stroke that off your defensive radar.

Which bit was bollocks?
Is Rooney pretty good in the PL? Yes
Is Rooney pants at International level? Yes
Is Keane pretty good in the PL? Yes
Is Keane pants at International level? Yes

There is no doubt that Rooney may and should improve for England but the facts are that he has been pants for some time. If it would make you feel easier exchange Rooney for Gerrard. He is also pants at International level so far. it is not an anti-United comment. I was trying to show that international form means sod all if the league form is good as it is the league club which pays the transfer fee and wages.

its a valid point and not an attempt at humour, we've been listening to years and years of this shite form delusional dippers. ye think I;m being a bit of a tit? of go feck yourself and your gobshitery. your club and fans are unbelievably delusional. ye havnt had a sniff at a championship for so long its made yer brains go soft. you will hover around 4th again this year. Keane will not make a difference in any real sense of the word. and you'd get more respect on here if you just called it like it is. a player that has been a big fish in every small pond he's been at. cept inter where they could.t get rid of him quick enough. so you grow up will ye and add something intelligent and reasonable to the argument. Keane is a decent player. world class no. 2o million no. a typical scouse signing in the Bellamy mould.

as for the 16 or 17 thing.:wenger: I'm not but I;ve met a few kids who make far more sense than you're bullshit points. stick to the arguments and leave out the silliness

Last season it was Torres who was going to win them the league. Actually, they went down a place.

If we continue that trend with Robbie-fecking-Keane, at least he'll secure top five.

Don't forget Gary Barry. He'll have them gunning for 6th place, not a bother to him.

That's a good point, Gerrards definitely not good enough to play in the centre against the best teams, he hasn't got the brains. He's best in the role Beckham played for us, but will he sulk if he's forced to play out wide every week?

I switched on TalkSport in my car as I was driving to a mates house tonight and several horrible scouse pricks came on calling Aston Villa a 2 bit club and claiming that Barry should be allowed to leave for 15 million if that's what Liverpool want.

Andy Townsend tried his hardest to explain to them that Villa had not been unwilling to sell Barry to Liverpool, only that they wanted 18 million in order to do so.

Then the scousers started going on about how Villa would be mad to keep him as if they sold him next summer they wouldn't get even 15 million for him.

Andy T then pointed out that perhaps Villa would be delighted to keep him as he may contribute to them finishing above Liverpool so that Barry could get CL football afterall and without joining the ranks of the black armband fraternity in the self pity city.

I then switched it off, but would have loved to hear the response to that.

And the dippers will tell you that we're an arrogant bunch.

I'm just glad Pool didn't move in for Tevez when they got Mascherano. Just as glad they're not getting Villa.

Keane is alright. An improvement over Kuyt and that Ukrainian guy.

If you had read the Berbatov thread, you would realise that plenty of our fans were doing the exact same thing. Plenty had said that they are being unreasonable asking for over £25m and a fair few have said that they'd be lucky to get £15m for him next season. And Andy Townsend would be GlastonSpur, as he has been saying the same thing in our situation.

How's the Torres flopwatch thread doing?

Benitez doesn't have a plan, he just signs whoever. They've got plenty of central midfielders yet he wants another for £18 million. They've got a top class striker who has played well in a lone man role with Gerrard behind him yet he still goes out and buys another striker for £18 million.

All the while they've been crying out for decent wingers and full-backs, whilst he's just been buying shite.

Makes me laugh, the only reason he's still in the job is because of the champions league win.

Long may he rain, er.drizzle

what the feck were most of you thinking???? Its not even like it was some foreign youngster who had set some other league alight.

It was Robbie fecking Keane.

I cant understand the strategy behind bringing in a striker for 20m to then sell him few months later for less. FFS if he was so shite then why bringing him in the first place?

Anyway had Keane ever made it with a big side?

oOooo .. spoils their perfect formation with steveeG behind the fairy playing 4-5-1

would be interesting to see how it works out . keane is a good player

hope he fails ..
80k a week btw ...
got it right ..

80k a week for 6 months = 2million
add to that a signing on fee ..
brilliant rafa .. brilliant
