Mahrez wants to leave and agrees to join Roma; they have offered € 35 mln* and are the only club interested.
I don't understand why LCFC have rejected the offer.

* € 35 mln is a good offer, if Salah is worth €40 mln (£ 35m) then Mahrez should be around € 35 mln imho

because the club have said all along they don't want to sell, Mahrez is better than Salah for a start also

It is not a good offer at all. It is a ridiculous offer that demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of the market in England. Offer £45m and Leicester might sell. £50m and I imagine they will.

It's an offer from a side that thinks we can be bullied over a transfer

My opinion has annoyed a few so apologies- I personally am judging him purely on the level he's capable of, have the faith that Mourinho would get that and potentially improve his work-rate. Whatever has lead to his 'sulky' attitude I believe it may be something behind the scenes, or when he had so many options he wouldn't have signed a new contract- that money (and more) could have been gained elsewhere. We don't know what he was assured when he signed, maybe promises made weren't adhered to or maybe he signed the contract and then regretted it, I don't know. In terms of talent though I'd like to see an in-form Mahrez at a top club in the EPL

Players sign contracts as a insurance in case of long term injuries which can happen anytime in the game.

They'll sell for £40M, but Roma's offer is final. Meaning they won't get him

For me he was just being loyal that is why he stayed. In also certain it was agreed to let him go this summer if they failed to capitalize on their title winning success. I believe if Leicester's evaluation if him is met by any club, they won't stop him leaving

The way offer is a rip off. In today's market a former EPL POTY, almost in his prime is worth 40-45m plus add ons. Not what Roma is offering.

he has 3 years on his current contract and we don't want to sell ,there is no negotiation to be had, we have set a price, pay it or we don't sell
What if he doesn't wants to. What if because of his tantrums he has already fallen out with the gaffer. Its better not to waste wages on players who can't perform the way the boss wants him to.

Then you stop rewarding tantrums with giving him what he wants, I'm sure after a couple of "strong" tackles from Robert Huth in training he'd stop causing trouble

I'm sure @Jimmy Skitz can back me up that work rate was most definitely not an issue under Pearson and it only dropped when it became apparent to Ranieri just how talented he was and that his energy should be reserved for attacking in the same way that Ronaldo does at Real Madrid and Hazard at Chelsea.

Ultimately anyone doubting Mahrez would be good enough for us should just look at
2007–08 Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United
2008–09 Ryan Giggs - Manchester United
2009–10 Wayne Rooney - Manchester United
2010–11 Gareth Bale - Tottenham Hotspur
2011–12 Robin van Persie - Arsenal
2012–13 Gareth Bale - Tottenham Hotspur
2013–14 Luis Suárez - Liverpool
2014–15 Eden Hazard - Chelsea
2015–16 Riyad Mahrez - Leicester City
2016–17 N'Golo Kanté - Chelsea

The guy's a star, naturally loves the wide attacking role of which we only really have Lingard who you can say the same about, a really down to earth and humble guy, and doesn't cost £100m like all of his equivalents.

It's a no-brainer.

Mahrez had his wonder season. He'll never reach those heights again.

Ammm not so sure on this one and is he not just another version of what we have already he is not out n out winger. I dont think heis going to give us the width that Jose is looking for.

Too flaky and not a Mourinho player at all.

Hahaha .. that sure is one way of doing business.

Shakespeare is on record praising his attitude and lauding his professionalism. Don't think there's any indication of him throwing a tantrum b

He's a good example of a player who wasted his chance of playing with the best by being loyal. He should have left for Barca while he was hot. No wonder agents like making things happen when things are going.

I highly doubt Barca was ever seriously in for him.

Shakespeare today on Mahrez.

"I have to say he's been very focused, when I say driven - he hasn't given me one problem of pulling him to the side and saying, 'oi, pull your finger out'," Shakespeare said.

"We know he's come out and said that he wants to leave. Until we get a bid that is accepted that is reasonable for Leicester then he stays.

And Mahrez thought on his actual situation a few days ago :

"I know Roma came in, but nothing was accepted so there is little I can do. They are a great club who I would like to talk to but I can't until Leicester accept a deal," he said.

"Leicester know my thoughts, but I will continue to give my best for the club as I always have.

"Clearly, it is flattering whenever you get linked with any big clubs, but as it stands, I have not talked to anyone as nobody has had a bid accepted but we nearly have a month left of the transfer window so we will see what happens."

I don't think that anyone can fault his professionalism till now. He said to the club that he wants to go, which every ambitious player in his situation would think about. And he's not throwing his toys out of the pram, he's keeping his head low, giving his all for lfc while he's still there. Not like other footballers.
And I think he deserves his move, he was one of the people that gave Leicester their magic season. And he's going to give them a big fee. They paid like 150.000 euros for him.

I think that for the price quoted, we should be in for him, he's better than anything we have and he is decisive. In a better setup, like ours, I think that he would thrive.

Just remember that for this past season, in which people think that he underperformed, he still ma'aged 13 Goals and 4 assists overall (9/2 for lfc).

Better than anyone bar Ibra in our team.

Shakespeare today on Mahrez.

Looked very good when I saw him pre-season. Reminded me why he was vital to Leicester's title win.

Had United splurged on Verratti he could have been a good budget option on the right, but as it stands Mourinho could do with someone with driving pace out wide.

a player capable of special moments on his own, still cany beleive we have no links to him, especially at the 35/40m price tag. seems a no brainer to me, apart from Martial would take him ahead of all our current attacking players

He's not tall enough and his tackling isn't good enough for Mou to be interested.

I think he'd be a magnificent player for us. I also share the frustration that we're not in for him.

Yep , we need creativity from the wings, he has everything as attributes which are required. Mentality is a question.

But he did say about roma and there is still time left for him to think about transfers. Sure its not tantrums but the lad sure wants out of lfc.

Big fan of Mahrez, he absolutely ripped the league up a couple of years ago. Could get him for a reasonable price too.
He would add a spark to our attack that Mkhitaryan has failed to do. He can dribble, cross, score goals and is as decent as Mkhi defensively.

Utd aren't interested though for some unknown reason.

He's a good player but not a player that would be suited to United in my eyes. Could see him at Arsenal or Monaco though.
