Offer them Januzaj on loan. Surely they can't refuse that plus £40m or whatever it would take to get him.
Why would they want to take a player, who has not been able to make it into the first team of last 2 teams he played for.

In fairness their squad consists of quite a few cast-offs from bigger teams.

I'm still not sold on him. Like I said, it's a personal choice.

I have reservations over him, and I am wary of signing players on the back of 1 good season, what's so difficult for some to understand? Let him do it again for another season and then we'll talk, this is my take on him.
Who would you rather go for? Mahrez is by far the best right winger the club can attract at the moment. We have van Gaal and we're 5th... And people believe we can get Griezmann, the star player of Champions League finalists Atlético Madrid

Agree. But they are no longer "The team that saved their a** from relegation"
Maybe, though I expect they will continue to sign players with a similar mentality. Ranieri and their head of recruitment have already said as much.

That said, I don't think Januzaj falls into that category.

Nope. More in the Martial, Sanchez, Di Maria mould. Or Sane, Dembele etc.

Don't get me wrong, if Mahrez plays the way he has for Leicester, for us, he's an automatic starter. He's been wonderful. I just have a small reservation regarding A) whether he'll adapt to the way teams play us and B) whether we need more pace than he offers. For example, there's no way Vardy does as well in our team.
Me too. I am just trying to convince myself. plus I am desperate for an upgrade on Mata and Lingaard

Same here.

I wouldn't mind if we go for someone like Mahrez as first choice, and get a younger cheaper winger (are we still interested in that Zeknini kid?) who gives a tonic of raw pace.

I like him but I'd like more pace there. Would absolutely love it if we can get greizmann. Leave him out and then there's a serious dearth of top quality players who can bring that to the table and then mahrez becomes a good option

Because he still has shed loads of potential and is just an extra bargaining chip on top of a shit load of cash.

They also now need some depth for the Champions League. A young loan signing and cash to replace Mahrez (the difficult task) goes a long way to helping.

Also relevant - the striker we bring in/play up top.

If Ibra comes, then we really need to ensure we have tons of pace in the three attacking midfield positions.

Him and Mane would be good business. As I expect Griezmann to stay! Zlatan up top as someone mentioned that a formidable 4, pace skill and finishing.

Stranger things have happened and football is not black and white. Costa moved to Chelsea under very similar circumstances.

Would fancy Mahrez to do better for us than Mane, who is just so hot and cold, when he's good he's great, but seems to have long spells where he's not really on form.

You're the one talking ridiculous rubbish. While we're at it lets sign Vardy, Kante and every one that was good for Leicester.
Because that's exactly what I've said we should do? No I've explained that this player is an absolute top top quality player, that has won the best trophy available both individually and as part of a team possible in England. I didn't say anywhere we should sign anybody from the Leicester team; just the best player within a title winning squad. What else can you rate him on? He's achieved the best possible season you really can within England yet you want to judge him on his clubs historical past, based on old worn out cliches about us being on a perch above other clubs and were a step up to everybody. We don't even come close to the best on a footballing basis. Welcome to the past, we should be aiming for the best players in the league, and he's one of them. Just watch him play and you'd see he's top bracket, don't just judge him the team he plays for. Mug.

Seriously what are you calling me a mug for? You sir are an absolute daft prick.

Idiot comes on here to abuse people because they don't agree with his opinion, what a low-life prick you are.

You don't see what Griezmann would bring but you're amazed people still doubt Mahrez. It's all good.
Don't see what Griezmann would bring that Martial wont be doing in the near future. The doubting of Mahrez is baffling period.

They can interchange. Rather have players moving around positions than a static attack.
IF we sign both, then either we're going to play with a front 4 which will make us top heavy or we're going to play with a someone out of position. Neither is desirable and wont lead to too much success.

But Martial and Griezmann don't play the same role? :wenger:
They do unless we play Martial as a striker despite him showing huge potential as a second striker/wide forward. My point is Martial, Griezmann and Mahrez wont work in the side, someone is going to be playing out of position as Griezmann and Mahrez are both left footed and operate from the right.

Griezmann is best as a #10. Way better there than on the right.

Martial - Griezmann - Mahrez would be an amazing trio behind a forward.

Megalolz at people talking about us signing Griezmann or Mahrez. Yeah, they must be crying out to join United right now!

Just do what City, psg etc did and talk about a project :) A new manager who is positive, a few good buys and we'll be back near the top.

I hope we're in for him. We need a really good right winger badly and he is a great fit. Wouldn't expect him to hit the same level next season but I am certain that he will have a very good/great season next year for whichever team he plays for. He's a genuinely skillful player who actually has the final product and doesn't lack a football brain.

id lob £40-50 million in that direction, hes one of the best RW around and would thrive in our new and improved team next year. Hes also a goal scorer than that can easily chip in with 15-20 goals which with the same from Martial and Ibrah would be huge. Hes exactly the sort of player we need, not second rate trash like Mane.

Also just one final point but hes really not just a 1 season wonder, he played excellent in the run in (last 10 games or so) that kept Leicester in the division and was clearly their best player eve back then. Hes only come on further this year and no doubt in my mind he could step up another level again.

Ibra plus Him or Willian and I don't care who else we sign, the league will be ours.
Oh men, dont get me started! What a player this is, if we can sign him and Ibrahh we would be unstoppable in the PL!

I know right! Just like when we signed Di Maria and Falcao! Oh wait... :annoyed:

What?

Mahrez is prem proven unlike Di Maria and won't be a pussy.

Falcao was coming back from serious injury. Ibrahimovic is still scoring goals for fun and he should be able to cope with prem physically.

Falcao yeah, but he was still a beast and something to be excited for. Di Maria came from a brilliant season at Real Madrid and was MotM in the Champions league final... Premier league proven or not, he was an exciting signing, more than Mahrez would be.

Dont worry, be happy. Font be so negative lad!

Haha not negative, just want to stay grounded. I mean looking at the Premier Lesgue champions this year, it proves that the best players don't always win the league. That said, I'd really love those two signings.

Is a huge difference in terms of squad balance. The players we're being linked with would seamlessly attach to the core squad. We need a winger, a striker, a CB and possibly a midfielder. It wouldn't be anywhere near as unbalanced as the Rooney/Falcao/RvP situation.
