Easy. We don't buy Thuram, so Juve wont have the money to go after Rio. Circle of Life. ;)

Too much

We should not pay more than £25-26m, or tell 'em we'll give you £35m and take both Keane and Rio..

Yea rite. The next thing they say would be LiverPoo is interested in both Lee BoyYer and Rio Ferdinand, but they would only buy after Man Utd gets Nicky Barmby from them.

Has anyone noticed that we've ALREADY MADE A BID?

Ridsdale says "No bid worthy of consideration" which means we've made our move and now its simply Pete trying to get more money out of us.

I just hope they dont put too high a tag on him. They are only gonna sell if we match it it seems, until then its a case of Rio is not leaving. Once we match it, they'll be like "We couldnt say no and it was Rio's decision".

Is it about an inspirational player and would shock the footballing world?

Pete can't keep rejecting bids forever (or waiting for Juve  ) Rio wants the move, they're hardly going to get the best out of him. Besides, who's the broke club in this situation ;)

Unless Juve borrow the money, then hope that we buy Thuram, in which case we'd buy Ayala just to feck off the cnuts. :D

Because Verón is going nowhere, and Nesta doesn't want to come.

Nothing. It is only however, clever if we were sure of landing Ronalidnho to replace Seba. ;)

Veron may be going nowhere, but who told you Nesta doesn't want to come?? The Sun? or Tribalfootball??

Rio Ready For Man Utd Switch :
Rio Ferdinand's agent has told BBC Sport Online that the Leeds defender would be "very happy" to join Manchester United.

But Pinhas Zahavi has admitted that Ferdinand will not put up a fight if Leeds stand by their decision to reject his transfer request.

"If they say no, then he will stay. He is a loyal soldier. But he would be very happy to join Manchester United," said Zahavi.

"He wants to play in a bigger and better club. He wants to play in the Champions League.

I have been torn apart over the last three days

Rio Ferdinand
"Going to the World Cup has given him the appetite to participate in a very high level of football. He wants to be competing for titles and medals.

"But I must reiterate that he is very happy at Leeds. He is not unhappy and he feels at home. If Leeds say he cannot go then he will honour the contract."

Ferdinand has admitted he agonised about his decision to put in a transfer request.

"I have been torn apart over the last three days," he said.

"I love Leeds United and the people. They took a huge gamble in signing me and I will never forget that."

But Zahavi made it clear that Ferdinand would prefer to leave Elland Road now rather than activate a clause in his contract in a year's time.

"Don't forget his contract has a get-out clause, which allows him to go at the end of next season," Zahavi added.

"All he is asking is to be allowed to go a year earlier."

Now we need to put a bid in for him...

I can indeed. Let's make some more of this.

If the PLC give SAF the cash, and SAF feels that he is worth the cash, why the hell should we care? What reason? NONE!

I still say 27m is the fair price though! :)

Yes. Thats what I thought. Can you lend me your copy of Champ Manager so I can get some practice in? ;)

bit worrying is the quote that he will stay if Leeds refuse, better is the one that mentions a get out clause next year, if this is the case then Leeds will have to sell asap as with prices dropping they won't get as much next season. I like it
