Right Winger... Who do we go for?

Bailey, Pulisic, Willian, all affordable options we could consider.

I'd like to see us take a punt on David Neres of Ajax. Why do we always have to wait for everyone else to sign the talents and develop them into world class players? He seems a proper Fergie type of signing.

Seems perfect

Does Bailey not play on the left?

Does Bailey not play on the left?
He plays as an inside forward from the right side, or just a traditional winger on the left.

Seems pretty capable of either TBH.

I really think United should break the bank and go all out for Pulisic. Kid is the real deal.

Glad we got Salah and Mane when we did. The winger/wide forward market is filled with young unproven, aging unspectecular and those already at very good clubs and there's literally non of them available for a decent fee. I mean Bayern are still sticking with Robben and Ribery for a reason.

I do not envy you at all. Think the best way forward is to stick Sanchez there and have Rashford and Martial fight for LW.

We should do what we should have done back in January and played Sanchez there. I don't give a shit about transfers, but there's nothing jumping out at me on this front. Better utilise what we've got and give Chong a shot. Some managers would make that work.

I'm still stunned that both martial and the club don't want to try and transition him to a RW. He is so talented and so young, is it possible for him to achieve it. Yet all he does is sook about playing RW (under LVG) and the club have seemingly given up on the idea even with Jose now at the helm.
Yes, my biggest concern is that nobody in our squad, on the fringes or otherwise, is not looking at that right wing spot and wanting to make it their own. Rashers player there for England a bit, so maybe he will.

I can't post link (I'm a newbie) to clip of Willian vs Barcelona in 1st leg of champions league last season. The clip which is on youtube shows why I would like him at Utd. He was brilliant, hit the post twice and scored in that game. Barcelona had lot of possession in that game but some individual brilliance from Willian in the clips. This could be the difference for us next season in some games. Exactly what we need on the right side and missing in our play.

If we can get Willian and Sanchez on top form next season we can win title.

The clip in YouTube is called: Willian amazing show v Barcelona. If you watch clip the game shows the type of individual moments that might be the difference for us next season plus he done it against top opposition.

Willian's PL form is a much better guide to how good he would be for us than one performance in the CL.

I know that but just one game I remember watching last season where I thought he was brilliant. You can see why Barcelona took an interest.

Looks talented sure but Dortmund players tend to turn shite once they leave. Also I think we need somebody slightly more experienced. Ideally we'd sign a winger between 25-28 years of age, Douglas Costa was always my wet dream.

Still think a right-winger is less important than two good attacking full-backs. But apparently Mourinho thinks Valencia and Young are good to go.

Mata/Lingard/Rashford can do a good enough job there for me. Hell, buy Vardy and put Lukaku on the right.

I generally agree, but it doesn't look like the club is prepared to make available the funds required to do a LB and a winger. Given that Martial is at risk of leaving (possibly after the PL window shuts), you can see why Mourinho decided to prioritize the latter.

I liked what I saw from Rashford on the RW but the problem is that he isn't that good dribbling 1 on 1. He can cross well, shoot well and has pace to burn but lacks the decision making. Needs an attacking coach to coach him in that role otherwise there's no point.

I agree with your assesment, but I think the decision making will come as he matures as a player. Most young attacking players (in my opinion) struggle with this when they are reliant on pace. Some never put it all together and never reach their potential. I think Rashford has a future out there and solves a huge issue for this team, plus it continues to get him games where he can develop and create more playing time for Martial both as a LW and a backup striker.

I disagree on Chong but you're right about getting the most out of our current players. Sanchez is more than capable of playing on the right. Rashford and Martial too.
I know there's a whole thing about Martial on the right but how many games did he actually play there last season? I only remember Newcastle where he made some good runs but didn't take his chances then it seemed like everyone got on his back. His problem is confidence, a consistent run and faith from the manager would be great for him. Same thing for Rashford. I would prefer Sanchez there though and tell him not to cut in constantly.

If they are determined to look outside the club, please stop with the older players who will decline very soon. Especially in a position where pace is important.

The biggest problem is the general defensive play and lack of attacking coaching. None of the attacking players look good wherever they play in the team. I doubt that will be changing any time soon.

Just been reading a report in the DM that contact has been made for Ante Rebic.

You mean the guy that Eintracht Frankfurt bought this summer for 2m euros?

...I wonder how much they'll want for him.

Apparently Roma is going for ajax winger David Neres. Lets wait until the last minute and sign him in the airport.

Malcolm could have been got for less than £40 million and is good enough for Barca, Martins was basically a free and good enough for Atletico, Mahrez is good enough for City and us ? Well we’re clearly better with Mata and Lingard.

I'd gamble on Pulisic. The US has to have a world class talent at some point.

Pulisic -would be a nice edition he can be very good when on fire .
Willian - 100% Jose type player
Bale - injury Probe but world class when Fit
Rebic - an animal win

Any of them would be an improvement on what we have at the moment

I don't think Rebic would. He's no better than Lingard/Mata/Rashford on the right.

I haven't seen enough of Rebic but the other 3 would make a big difference in our right wing as you said. Also, there are other players who can fit that description:

Bailey -would be a nice edition he can be very good when on fire
Perisic - 100% Jose type player
Reus - injury Prone but world class when Fit

I would love to see an exciting young winger like Dembele, Pulisic, Bailey, etc. But William is the most realistic (still better than Mata/Lingard).

We should have bought Douglas Costa last year before Juve made their move. Mahrez is this year's Douglas Costa, an obvious signing in a position where we lack quality. We needed him a lot more than City yet didn't budge. We're a strange club at times. If this is our business concluded for the summer then things aren't looking good. Hopefully the board will at least sign these 2 mysterious players Jose is on about.

Not the Valencia one.

If he does then we’re definitely getting Bale in my view.
I think Madrid is going to play with Courtois?/Navas, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Bale and their New Signing.

Bale would be on their first eleven IMO.

Lopetegui is apparently a big fan of Asensio, however, and Vicinius Junior is joining up.

I also fully expect them to bring in two to replace Ronaldo, probably Hazard and a centre-forward.
