Right Winger... Who do we go for?

Dembele for Martial swap?

Would balance the winger situation on both sides with Sanchez/Rashford on the left and Dembele/Lingard on the right.

This would be unreal. I can't see Jose making this possible. Although I do agree that this would give us the balance that we've lacked, much needed pace as well as directness in our play.

Dembele to Barcelona was a bad deal considering Dembele had really big shoes to fill left by Neymar. Either way, Dembele could run riot on the RW for us like what Salah has done a Liverpool.

Lozano. I know, don’t buy off a World Cup, but he had a good year at PSV and has been a known commodity for a while, is young, and would come at a reasonable price. Can play either wing proficiently but could hopefully lock down the right wing.

He is a good talent. As you mentioned, he can play also as RW, but he is better on the left, same as Neymar, Ronaldo, Hazard, Sanchez... All of them can play as RW, but they are a bit better and more comfortable on the left.

Still, I would prefer to invest in Lozano than spend 60m for William.

An average can be misleading sometimes. Need a parameter '% of matches been ineffective', '% of matches did not score', '% of matches without assist'

Is it early to give Tahith Chong a taste of the first team next season? The guy runs up and down the pitch. Could be perfect match made in heaven for Mourinho

Bale, Dembele, Dybala, Costa and Mbappe are the 5 attacking players who could take us to the next level. Unfortunately, all of them are almost impossible to sign for different reasons.

Is there a top RW available? or just young players with potential?

Thinking Jose may go for an extra centre back like Maguire and Toby and play 352 nullifying the need for wingers and allowing Pogba and Sanchez to play in positions that would suit them better.

Would be amazing to see a young, talented player on the wing. I just dont see that with Jose and with fans being obsessed with catching City, I doubt he would get the goodwill he'd need

I wish there was a world class attacking player out there that looked remotely feasible but I don’t see it currently.

What we need is a 25 year old Bale.

A leftback and Maguire.

Problem with that is you need quality attacking wingbacks in that system so you still have some attacking width, we currently have 2 aging, has-been wingers who don't contribubte much in attack.

Did he? I must have missed that. Bugger. Back to hoping for Bale or Lozano.
I can't find confirmation of it so I think I'm wrong about the extension, but his release clause did expire last month. Therefore i think that if we were interested we would have already picked him up last month. Too bad, would have been a decent short term fix, he'd fit right in.

Aye, it's a pipe dream at this point. Lozano is the most realistic option, but I fear starting the season with no one. I'd love Rashford to learn the role, but he's still very young and not ready to carry our attack down one side on his own.

Here I am still thinking we don't need a RW but more of a good #10 to compete with Jesse. Feck 4-3-3. 4-4-2 diamond is the future.

Honestly, I don't know who'd be best for our right wing anymore. Mahrez would of been great, Costa, Willian and Bale also could work, but I am disappointed that Sanchez hasn't made the right wing position his own. When he signed I thought that's where he'd mainly be played. Jose has to take some blame here too of course, as it seems like we never really had a thought out plan for Sanchez.

Sure, he has mainly played on the left or through the middle, but he is one of the highest paid (and therefore also one of the most talented) footballers in the world, who has played on the right before and has shown he is capable of doing so.

He should be expected to perform effectively there.

Mahrez would have been perfect, ticks all the box, attainable, wants to move and excellent. But yeah, that ship has sailed.

William would be my choice taking all everything into consideration. He was Brazil main RW, there's no reason he can't be our main RW. It looks like he'd be open to joint us and he wouldn't cost a fortune.

Lozano... Never buy because of a good world cup performance.

I think that we can get dembele with a mega offer, I'm not sure he'd be worth it.

Other feasible (young)options includes:
Martins from Sporting.
Pulisic from Dortmund.
Malcolm from Bordeaux.
Chiesa from Fiorentina.

I think they'd all improve us (that's not really difficult with the options we have at RW).

We do not have good enough fullbacks for a diamond.

We don't have good enough fullbacks for any system, including the one we currently play. The only system our fullbacks are good enough for, is 4-4-2 flat, so they rarely have to attack.

We still need at least one really good fullback in order to play 4-3-3. But when that's sorted (the FB situation) the midfielders and forwards at our disposal are better suited to 4-4-2 diamond than 4-3-3

Not sure why people keeping making it out like Mahrez ticks all the boxes when it's quite simple that he doesn't work hard enough defensively for Jose to be interested, hence why we never went in for him.

Who would you sign as No.10?
It looks like we will play 4-3-3 with Fred coming in and the number of midfielders we have. Pogba showing he can play deeper, with Lingard as well, we don't have a pure no10 anyway, other than Mata who is too slow and small for Jose. Feckir would be good though if we want to play with no10 that means to leave a lot of good players on the bench from midfield though. And Pereira is my dark horse for that role in the future if anyone and that system.

We could play 442 (diamond) for the number of midfielders we have (if we don't sign a RW).
Sanchez - Lukaku
Fekir
Pogba - Matic - Fred
Sandro? - Smalling - Bailly - Dalot
De Gea

To be fair, he scored 19 goals and made 8 assists in his first season in Europe for PSV. He's a big talent.

Well, while i agree that he looks like a great talent. so did Depay with the bag of goals he scored. The standard of defending there is awful.

Isn't he first a left winger ?

Yeah, he plays of his games on the left I think.

Lozano is basically another Rashford or Martial. He isn't a winger per se. For him is miles better to play in the left because he's right-footed. He can't make the difference in the right side of the field because he doesn't have the creative or technical tools to do it.

I am actually pretty annoyed at all the smart arses who were writing Perisic off as a nothing player last season. He’d have been a great signing for United.

Agenda posters no doubt.
