Right Winger... Who do we go for?

Would love Alexis Sanchez to be our new right attacking midfielder but he seems to be City bound even though I'm not sure why since I never had the impression that he worked out too well under Guardiola at Barcelona.

I have serious doubts about the Alexis to City links. I doubt he has forgotten how Pedro used to keep him out of Pep's Barca side. Yet if he joins City he has younger, superior talents to Pedro in Sane, Sterling and G. Jesus to deal with. Plus Aguero if he stays. Alexis could pull a Sol Campbell and end up where he is least expected to go. IMO Chelsea has a very good chance of getting him. Even us if we tried.

He wasn't at the start of the season, but I'm fairly sure this last month he's started virtually every game and he's scored 6 goals in his last 7 appearances. Saying that, he's not ready for United atm, but he's only 18 and I think he's worth a punt given that he'd probably cost under £20m.
Maybe you are right. I think part of the reason is that Younes is injured though.

Younes is injured, but wasn't going to be a starter anymore. He will be moving to Napoli in the next few weeks.

Kluivert really developed well over the last few months and will only get better fast. You won't get him for under 20M btw.

Of all the up and coming talents I've seen, Leon Bailey is the one that's really caught my eye.
He looks to be a tremendously exciting player and would get fans off their seats..!

Not seen a lot of him, where can he play? Strengths/weaknesses etc?

Not convinced Malcolm is the answer. Id like Mahrez, based on being competent at RW and prem experience. He would give us an edge

Mahrez is an obvious choice.

I'd say Mahrez but I think he'd struggle under Jose. He's a maverick who would need someone to give him all confidence in the world. I think Jose would suck the creativity out of him.

Willain would probably suit our football but I don't think Chelsea will sell us to him.

What happened to Bernedeshi? Hardly played this season, is he injured or just not picked?

I think it's more of a wide forward we need than a winger as we ahve to move towards a 4-3-3, this Pogba 2 man midfield caper needs ending. I think if we did add a pure winger type for the right it would be a young squad option like Justin Kluivert.

He is in direct competition with Dybala and Cuadrado for a position on the right.

He generally looks good whenever he plays through.

I'm coming close to not caring to be honest. I think any winger who we signed would end up hot and cold due to Jose's style.......and please do not consider me a Jose hater, I wanted him and wanted him to succeed. I'm close to giving up on Jose. He isn't the manager to nuture young attacking talent which is what we'd be looking at - it speaks volumes that he wanted Perisic. An older head, hard-working winger without what you'd call 'flair' - more of a direct, old-school winger.

I genuinely thin Malcom would be dogshit here under Jose, sorry.

I keep changing my mind.

I think we need someone to compliment Lukaku. As I said in the another thread yesterday, we need width. Lukaku's strives from crosses. He's a poacher! He was at his best when he had Gerard Deulofeu flanking him down the right.

Think if we get someone like that, with an inverted winger on the left, then we will see a more structured attack.

Not enough neutral goals. Get rid.

If Lucas Moura is available then give PSG a big chunk of cash and get it done.otherwise mahrez would be a very good signing.

Has he done anything of note these past few years?

Mkhitaryan did, winning Bundesliga player of the year and look at him now.

To me, it's not always about getting the best players, but getting players who will compliment those already at the club. This has been our problem, and why we're in the position we're in, in terms of not having a balanced attack.

Lucas is very much like Willian. An explosive player who is comfortable, both cutting inside and linking play, and getting to the byline and getting a cross in. He would give our team a good balance, and I feel Lukaku would benefit from having a player like Lucas on the right wing.

Absolutely feck all, but that won't stop people wanting him here to stink up our wings further.

He had his best season at PSG last year but fell out of favour after Neymar and Mbappe. I'm sure he can't be worse than Mkhitaryan or any other guy we use in RW. We need dribblers in the team who can take people on and Lucas fits the bill.

Lucas seems to be better fit atm than anyone else, instead of going for for some unknown player we should look to sign him.At 25 he got good experience at top level and PSG wouldn’t mind him selling and he would also come to us reasonable price.Above all we are getting player who can hold on to the ball with reasonable pace at wing who also can cut in and give proper cross to central strikers.

I definitely think we should start reaching out to his camp. I honestly feel he could turn us into league winners and he's available on a free! There's also less competition with us than with City, as you point out.

There's a large number of players who can't do worse than Mkhitaryan, that doesn't mean we should bring them in.

We should be trying to sign a wide player that has the potential to be one of the very best in his position. Not players who are surplus to requirements elsewhere. We're Manchester United..

i see, have Juve generally played 433 this season with Dybala on the right, Mandzukic of the left and Higgy up top?

Yeah I think so. I watched them today and that's the formation they played.

They have Douglas Costa, Cuadrado and Bernardeschi on the bench. Now that I think about it, Juventus actually have a very deep team.

Surely one of them are an option, he cant keep 4 Right Wingers happy if there playing 433 everyweek, mayne Costa plays on the left but even still

I'm surprised you guys didn't go for Costa in the summer. If there's one thing that guy can do, it's to beat his man and then put a good cross in the box. He's a proper winger.

I'd love him here, i know he played mainly on the left for bayern, is he a Mourinho type signing though?

We have waste enough money on players not up the required standard. This guy can run fast, but is a headless chicken. No thanks. Mahrez is the player we should buy in January.

Riyad Mahrez would be ideal, but as we've seen with the Van Dijk transfer trying to buy from other premier league clubs is very expensive.
