Right Winger... Who do we go for?

Might be worth playing young there every now and then if we dont want to really put rashford there. Definitely think just having a proper winger there will help. Keep the pitch stretched.

Forgot he was American. The natural tendency to consider all the ****IC as Yougoslavian :D

You're ABSOLUTELY right about the marketing considerations.

You make me think about an article I read this morning about the former translator of Di Maria at United: she said he was acquired for marketing reasons only.

Would be massive if we can get Malcolm in Jan.
We need a serious lift.

Pulisic wouldn't be signed for marketing reasons only, he is a Martial \ Rashford level talent who just happens to be comfortable as both RW and a playmaker.

I watched Leon Bailey play for the first time vs RB Leipzig yesterday as he scored the tying goal for 10 man Bayer. He played left wingback and impressed with his physical abilities and technical skills. I don't know about his suitability for right wing but he would be a massive upgrade over the dross currently playing left back/left wing back at United. Whatever fee United would pay for Rose would be better spent on Bailey IMO.

Wow, I have been advocating for him as a right-winger because he's an excellent right winger and I had no idea that he could play on the opposite side of the park as well. Having someone that can cover both wings, as well as a wingback, makes him super valuable. The good thing about players like Bailey, Jorginho and Fekir is that they are much cheaper than the Marquee type signings we usually go for like Dybala, Griezmann, Bale, Nainggolan etc. Buying cheaper players over marquee signings means we can afford to fill all the holes in the squad rather than just one or two holes.

Guedes anyone? Seems to have blossomed at Valencia after not being given a chance at PSG, and he’s not going to get in their team if he goes back. Jose might also be attractive to him with the Portuguese connection.

The alternatives for me would be Pulisic or Malcolm.

I'd go for Guedes too. Plus as he's naturally right footed, we'd keep the pitch wide.

I've seen Guedes this season and the guy has been phenomenal. PSG have a great depth with Neymar, Cavani, Mbappe, Guedes, Draxler, Moura, Di Maria.... That's just ridiculous. I would try and get either of Guedes or Draxler from PSG as they consider their summer clearout. Either of them would do great at RW. Pulisic from Dortmund would be good too.

Draxler is ungettable. He now starts in center midfield even ahead of ADM

Thanks for the update. If that's the case, Guedes and Pulisic would be options. But it looks like we're getting Griezmann which would mean 80m for him and we won't spend 80m more on another player. And we also need to strengthen for the RW, LB, RB as well as CM (whose more than a capable backup for Pogba). The fact that Fellaini is our backup for Pogba is an absolute joke. The game against Newcastle proved what we were missing. If Mhiki doesn't step up for the rest of the season, he could be shipped out.

The fact that Goretzka is free.... We should be all over that. I would like Milinkovic-Savic but he's gonna cost atleast 50m.

My reasonable choices for the summer
Griezmann (87m)
Guedes (40m)
Goretzka/ Dendoncker (free/ 30m)
Danny Rose (40m)
Muenier (30m)

Assuming we'll sell a few players in the summer as well aka Luke Shaw, Fellaini, Herrera...

£237m? That's as unrealistic as it gets. Meunier will cost a lot more than 30m, and even if you take out Dendoncker for Goretzka, it is still £197m. We are Man utd not PSG FFS.

Lukaku (75m)
Matic (35m)
Lindelof (30m)

we were supposed to spend 40m on Perisic this summer which we didn't. If we did, we would have been at 180m. We actually spent 140m instead.

We will have some people sold this summer. My guess-timations would be as follows:
Luke Shaw (20m)
Fellaini (10m)
Herrera (25m) [I know his contract did get extended but it could very well be so that he doesn't leave on a free transfer]
Pereira (20m) [it's getting increasingly likely that if he doesn't get playing time, he will leave.]

That would be 75m right there.

United paying 120 odd million out of their pockets would be our average spending in the past 3-4 windows. So to answer your questions, we don't need to be PSG to spend. And given how far behind we are from City (in terms of bench strength and also points), I don't think it's a bad enough investment.

Blind, Lingard, Darmian = 60 odd mill there. Jose seems half decent at selling players for good money so we definitely have some excess to fuel new transfers

If we play a 4231, then we need a wide attacking midfielder.

Preferably someone who is left footed, can go on the inside and outside, can beat a man, and has the ability to spot a pass. Personally, I'd like to see Thomas Lemar, Fekir or Malcom.

Lukaku
Martial Ozil Malcom
Matic Pogba
Rose Jones Bailly Valencia
De Gea

May we forever stay clear of the average Muenier. Sidibe is by far the superior option.....

But we can afford it comfortably. Plus we have a number of players getting to that stage we normally sale or replace them to upgrade the team. The likes of Darmian, Herrera, Smalling, Blind, Carrick, Zlatan, Young, Mata, Wilson and possibly Shaw, Pereira, Lingard and Fosu Mensah are at that stage. Most will not be here post the summer if we go all out to upgrade the team one final time.

Okay, I'm with you guys. But on a side note, the prices you mentioned for our players are a tad unrealistic as we don't really have a great record of getting good fees for our players.
We might struggle to get buyers for them too. A clear-out is not that easy unless you are willing to sell for peanuts.

I will take Meunier over Sidibe. Meunier is a machine, solid defensively and elite going forward as shown by his record; he is a man utd fan too.
Sidibe on the other hand, although good in attack is like a fish on dry land in defence.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind either.

Your team looks nice, but replace Malcom with Pulisic and it gets even better.

Yeah, finding buyers at the right price is always a problem for us, especially with the wages they're on at Utd. There's no way we can sell more than, say, 3 in one summer. A successful clear out is not realistic to hope for.

He is mostly left footed, but can cross on his right. More comfortable playing on the right but switches over to the left more than once every game.

Nothing to worry about man. Kagawa and Mkhitaryan's failing were just co-related, nothing to do with both being from Dortmund. It is usually hit or miss; for every Gotze, there is a Lewy. Maybe third time lucky?

Leon Bailey and Malcolm should be the first two choices.

Both better options that Pusilic and certainly better for our wide positions that the players we already have.
