We don't have a single proper right winger in our squad. We don't need a right winger. Sign a left back, a right back, Kane and Ozil. 2-4-4 formation. feck it.

Many top teams don't. I have no idea if we need one or not as that's up to the manager and how he wants to play. I just don't understand the view that we definitely need one when there are so few around which would indicate that very few teams are using traditional wingers anymore. We don't have a single proper right winger in our squad.
We largely struggle to score for the exact opposite reason. Our wingers like to cut in and against teams that park the bus against us (the vast majority of our opposition we've faced), wingers that move centrally is the last thing you need. We need wingers that stay out wide and stretch the game out and spread the opposition out in order to create space for the attackers playing centrally. With proper fullbacks, who wants/needs wingers? 3 "up front", but 2 of them staying wide? No wonder we struggle to score. You could put Messi Ronaldo and Neymar across the front, it wouldn't fix the inherent setup and personnel issues.
But the top teams at least have genuine wingers playing in their preferred position. Just look at the wingers in our squad: Rashford and Martial who play on the left for us are both arguably strikers (though I would personally say that Martial is better on the left), Miki is better playing as a CAM, Lingard is better as a CAM or on the left but plays on the right and Mata is also much more creative centrally, but plays on the right. Many top teams don't. Who? What preferred position? De Bruyne made his name as a winger for Wolfsburg, he is a midfielder now. Bale became a world beater as a left winger, he is playing on the right now. Ronaldo the other way around. Sterling, Sane, Hazard, Sanchez played everywhere behind the striker. There are no fixed positions with the top players and among the top clubs. They expect players rightfully to be fluid and comfortable in different positions. What we need like everyone else needs, is balance. Pace, technique, passing quality, etc ... all need to exist to some degree and it is unimportant where exactly do these qualities come from whether it is from full backs, midfielders, wingers or strikers. But the top teams at least have genuine wingers playing in their preferred position. The players you've mentioned are world class and/or are versatile, quick and technical enough to play in a variety of positions. I'll break it down further about the players that play in behind the striker in our squad to elaborate on my point. Mata lacks the pace to run in behind or take on pretty much any full back in the world, but he is technically sound, which helps to keep possession. However, he often slows down our play by cutting back when playing out wide.Who? What preferred position? De Bruyne made his name as a winger for Wolfsburg, he is a midfielder now. That's true, if our full backs could regularly get forward and accurately cross the ball into the box, we would be creating much more. But, surely the same argument could also be made that if our wingers could take on full backs more effectively, then we wouldn't be as reliant on our full backs to do that. That's the fullbacks job, if our fullbacks pushed on beyond the wide forwards when we attack the space would open up, but our fullbacks always sit deep and leave our wide attackers isolated, so when they drift in the fullbacks can squeeze the space with the CB's and we get choked out.

If we had a winger with the ability to easily run past full backs while keeping the width of the pitch like Perisic, we wouldn't be struggling to break down defensively set teams as much imo. Of course better offensive full backs can also remedy this problem, but from a perhaps selfish POV I'd prefer if we had a tricky, pacy winger than a full back that makes overlapping runs and makes accurate crosses.

Can we not get a big name signing? Id rather we go for a wonderkid and hope he develops into a WC player like Hazard did
Yeah that's fair enough as well. You're right, Lukaku is better at quick lay offs than holding on to the ball with little support around him. But, Lukaku is also considerably better in the box than he is out of it and if our wingers stayed out wide, Lukaku would have more space in the box, where he's deadly. But, I agree that we really do need attacking full backs, along with a right winger that is comfortable cutting inside as well as outside in order to provide more attacking options. What I mean by that is, currently teams put 1 player to mark Mata/Lingard and another on Valencia when he makes the overlapping runs and generally that's good enough to stop our attack on that side (unless Mata/Herrera provides a really incisive through ball to Valencia). Notice how teams almost always put 2 players to mark either Martial or Rashford as they are much more deadly dribbling on the ball. But, our left backs simply don't get forward enough to support and that oftens leads to dispossession or cutting the ball back.Fair enough, I personally don't want to see players of the Perisic ilk at United, I like dynmaic fullbacks that can provide attacking width so the two wide forwards can tuck in and link up with the #9, something I think is important with Lukaku as he's better at quick lay offs than hold-up play, he benefits more if we can get the two wide forwards nearer to him to create an attacking trident while the fullbacks bomb on to stretch the game and offer an extra passing option for the CM's.
Nope, that's not what I said/meant. We need both attacking wingers and attacking full backs. If we only had either attacking wingers or attacking full backs, it would be easy to defend against. Currently, we have attacking wingers on the left, but defensive full backs and on the right we have an attacking full back, but defensive wingers (or at the least unable to dribble past a defender). So, like I mentioned above, I think we could do with both a new attacking RW with the qualities I mentioned in the previous comment and a new LB that can bomb forward and is strong offensively.Totally disagree. You can't expect a front three to score all the goals, carry the threat through the middle and provide all the width to stretch teams. It's easy for a back 4 and 2 deep midfielders to deal with a threat like this, regardless of instruction or player quality.
Having quality fullbacks getting forward would transform this team. Why on earth should Manchester United have 6 defensive players on the pitch, ever? It's chicken shit football.
Anyways, I'm off topic.
People are arguing about whether we should get quality fullbacks or quality wingers. We are supposedly the richest club in the world why can't we have quality fullbacks and quality wingers instead of shoehorning failed wingers into fullback roles and using midfielders and strikers into winger positions. It's obvious we need width to out attack. We should spend the money and fill the holes in the squad. Forget about marquee players for marketing purposes just fill the holes in the squad with quality players regardless of marketing cache. Also we do need a clear out of the deadwood in the squad as our squad has too much quantity and not enough quality. If a player is not United standard they should be shipped out.
Can we buy Wilfried Zaha back? Let him terrorise opposition defenders from the right.
He has improved massively.
Heart, grit, pace, trickery. He can track back like Jose likes 'em. He can score. His crossing is very decent. Your classical touchline hugging, pain in the neck (for opponents) winger. Plus, he'll be returning home.
Our new no. 7? Looks like the kind of player we needMalcolm Bordeaux obvious choice.
The Zaha deal with Palace seems to indicate there is a buy back and sell on clause....hmm
