Right Winger... Who do we go for?

We need an top notch established player we have 2 young developing future stars on the LW (Martial, Rashford) no need for a Malcom, Zivkovic, Pulisic they are too young. We need to be looking at Bale, Sanchez, heck even Erickson or Griezmann can play a role on the right. These are the type of players that can take us from being a very good football side to a great football side.

Yeah that's too much for him
Funny how in the space of just 2/3 months, the view on market value has drastically changed. I’d agree €100m is too much but nowadays given the transfers we’ve seen that’s probably the going rate for a player like Carrasco.

Lol yeah I agree. Things have changed. Can easily see him go for close to 100m in the not so distant future

With the kind of form City have been in, Sanchez would definitely want to be part of their team. But then again, is he even required there? As for us, I've been mentioning on the forum that we've needed a RW and not a LW. We've had to depend on Ashley Young in such a crucial game against Liverpool. That already speaks volumes of our squad. Having Valencia and Young play on the same wing was such a wrong decision. I've not a fan of Lingard and even he would have been a better choice than Young. Liverpool have the shittiest defense in the league and we couldn't even score a single goal. I've heard a lot of people criticize Lukaku for going MIA but where was the service? He had one good chance which he didn't put away but other than that, Mhiki/ Martial/ Young and even when Rashford came on, he offered nothing. We need a RW who can provide us with width.

Malcolm/ Mahrez are very similar players as in they like to cut in on the right side. We need someone who can provide us with direct play and run at the opposition like what Martial and Rashford provide on the right.

Angel Correa would be an excellent fit at United. He's a right winger with good close control and a footballing brain, he also works hard defensively (something Mourinho likes).

His only downfall is his lack of height. He's 5 ft 8. He doesn't win many headers as a result.

Is he an out and out winger or a converted one like Martial or Rashford? Because I thought he was the latter, and in my opinion we need someone who’s 100% comfortable playing on the wing and has the attributes to excel there. I don’t know much about Correa though, so maybe you’re right.

He's definitely more of a winger than Rashford, pretty comparable to Martial (but on the right).

On Saturday

His dribbling and first touch under pressure (surrounded by several Barcelona players) is usually very good.

I'm a big fan of him. :D

Yeah a few seasons back at Monaco, Carrasco would play out wide and Martial up front.

If JM is playing right footed players on the left wing and left footed players on the right wing, why not give Demi Mitchell a shot vs Huddersfield's parked bus. He's banging in goals for the reserves, he's got the pace to chase down a counter attack, and with his experience at LB, he won't be shy about defending.

The first 18 outfield players are lacking left footed players with pace and ball striking ability. It would be nice to know what a local kid can do before spending 60 million euros on foreign talent.

Nani, welbeck and Zaha all currently better than what we have. I'd take any one of them.

I said this in the AC Milan thread, too, but I think Suso would be a fine addition. Admittedly it's highly unlikely.

I won't be surprised when we sign this "right winger" we realise that he's a no 10 and end up play him as a no 10.

I’m still riding the “play Rashford on the right” train, all the way. What we need is a proper #10, especially since we play Pogba in CM next to Matic.

No chance we’d get him from Levi, but Eriksen is the player I’d want.

I always felt it was a weird and wrong move for Mourinho to not go after a RW. Lucas Moura has to be available with Neymar and Mbappe at the club, and probably not for a skyhigh price either. He's one of the fastest wingers around and is very direct.

I always thought it was strange that we seemed so focused on the LW in the summer as opposed to the RW.

Honestly, you'll be disappointed with Lucas Moura. He's nothing special. A Mane-esque player for the RW would really strengthen United.

I thought I was the only one. Rashford, Martial and even Lingard are better on the left. We need a proper right winger. Do we even have an out and out winger in the team?

Young and Valencia are the only old fashioned wingers in the squad, truth is there aren't many of those type of wingers now, the attacking width is provided by fullbacks in most teams these days.

Perhaps the rumours of a formation change were true. 3-5-2 with Martial/Rashford rotating alongside Lukaku as strikers rather than wingers.

It's possible as Jose did seem to indicate that was why he wanted Perisic and not to play in place of Martial or Rashford..

Bolasie, if he comes back well from his injury, would be a cheaper addition than many names mentioned. Not world class but can do a good job. His main asset is not even pace, but his dribbling skills and i'm sure Everton would sell.

No thank you. We've got way too many mediocre players in the squad (thanks to Van Gaal).

You look at City's bench (in terms of attack)
Sane
Sterling
Aguero or Jesus (depending on who starts)
Bernardo Silva

Our bench (in terms of attack)

Rashford or Martial (depending on who starts)
Lingard

We don't have the depth what City have. Adding a Bolasie won't make a huge difference. He's not a United type of player and it makes no sense to add an average player who won't push Martial or Mata to perform better. The only reason why Rashford and Martial have been raising their game is because of the competition to do better than the other. We need someone who could raise the standards and probably make a genuine difference coming off the bench. Lingard does offer us pace and energy to press but he doesn't possess the quality to make a difference. His one off stand-out performances don't make me think he's good enough.

I'm just assuming that United's board does not have the intelligence or quality to buy a world class player, so, looking at the mid table teams, Bolasie looks like one of the best options this current bad board could get... Sterling will likely play less and less as Sane and Bernardo Silva adapt more to the league, so maybe him

Have any of you actually watched Malcom play before recommending we sign him over a more proven player

Watched the Lyon game and the game against Toulouse this season. He's the real deal and will go for a big, big fee this Summer. Looks ready for a bigger club imo.

Griezmann is coming. I believe this to be true so it is true. Sign up Pulisic for all the monies. Attackers for the next 5 - 10 years: Lukaku, Martial, Rashford, Griezmann and Pulisic.

God, the run of titles and Champions League trophies is going to be glorious.
