Yes, excellent defender. A bit unbrazilian in that hes a better defender than attacker, thats not to say hes not good going forward because he is. Just disciplined and picks the right times to go forward. He was my RB pick months ago, so happy with this link. Good passer too which LVG will like, can play as an emergency DM.

Fabinho is a better choice than Clyne for sure. He's younger, but has played two full season with Monaco and I think that he's very promising. Not very attacked minded like Rafael, a bit balanced in his channel and very good defensively.

Well it seems the Fabinho link is growing in France. Strange. He's the 3rd young Brazilian player we're linked too this summer. I've not seen him play as I don't watch Ligue 1 and didn't watch much of the UCL due to Utd absence. But from the comments above seems he's a great choice at such a low fee.

Not the typical flashy Brazilian fullback but a good all round player who would be a good signing for us at that price.

They just bought him for €6m a few weeks ago, can they actually sell him now? And if we are interested, why didn't we buy him for €6m, why let Monaco buy him and spend more than twice as much money on him?

There is more chances that Monaco accept 14m£ than 14m€. They have Raggi but they need to make as much as possible.
Would still be a good deal for us. I really hope we get him, he's the best we can hope for by far.

Looks like a weird transfer, I guess there aren't many good RBs out there for us to pick from.
Maybe Monaco had a fixed price buy option in place so there was nothing we could do. Given Monaco's current financial situation I think they'd jump at the chance to get their money back plus another €8M.

We could have offered his club something like 7-8M and they would have accepted for sure.
Probably we were chasing someone else and we failed and now we are looking at this guy.

They maybe couldn't as Fabinho has been on loan at Monaco and if there was a set buy fee in the loan deal then that is binding.
