Right Back

Fabinho, Sebastien Jung, Cancelo or we buy the ever inflated English/PL option of Coleman or Clyne. I've not seen Darmian so can't comment but seems lots of top clubs are after him, so, he must be quality.

People keep mentioning Carvajal, but seriously, he's not leaving Real Madrid. We need to start looking at realistic options below the food chain we operate in. Carvajal, Bale, Benzema, Muller, etc these players won't sign for United and I don't know why we keep wasting our time with unrealistic transfers, every season. We could have signed Danilo when we had the chance, but we either didn't want him or just stood there and let Real Madrid get him.

The Di Maria transfer would suggest differently, otherwise I would normally agree

If the players are happy there and Real dont want/need to sell its pointless discussing.

After Real bought Danilo, Carvajal was my #1 pick, but it appears he isn't for sale....nor has interest in leaving Real.

Darmian and Coleman would be great for us at RB....I am not sure we have a shot at Darmian but we can definitely get Coleman.

Right now, off the targets I have seen, I would take Coleman. About to enter his prime and although I rate Rafa higher but I cannot see LVG sticking with him. Coleman would be a very good addition to our squad. If they want Evans, maybe we can get a good deal out of this.

They got Clevs for free, they owe us one.

I was thinking about it. But from what I recollect we didn't let Clevs go to Everton last season when they were interested. Could someone correct me if I am wrong?

Coleman all day long, Clyne is ridiculously overrated. Coleman will add more goals and assists to our team. He may cost a bit more but he will be worth it and our team would benefit instantly.

That's because Real Madrid wanted to sell Di Maria, there's no indication whatsoever that they want to sell those players.

Glen Johnson. Great going forward, massive experience and a top personality. Make it happen Woody!!

This year we have been weak with our full backs. Valencia and Rafael, or Shaw/Rojo (except Blind) didn’t provide much on the wing. When you see the full backs at Madrid, Barcelona or Munich, it just shows how we should play and what we’re missing.

We absolutely need to correct this position with a specialist on this spot. Just make it quick Woody.

We already have a right back........thread. With Alves resigning with Barca, Carvajal unlikely to be for sale and Darmian probably off to Bayern I think we are stuck with Valencia, I just hope we don't piss away money on mediocrity like Clyne.

Such an underwhelming set of options, to be honest. I really don't mind Valencia there for another season.

No one at the moment. If we're talking realistic options, someone like Van der Wiel (who I've seen a lot) isn't really better than Valencia was this season. I think we should stick with Tony, hopefully we'll have Rafael playing a bigger part than this year because there are more matches next season. Hopefully Rafael can stay, he did alright in the few matches he played.

In case of emergency Phil Jones could play there just like we played Rojo at left back at times. Then there's Ashley Young who did alright at LB, you'd think he could do alright at right back too since he's right footed. So currently we have more than enough decent options on paper, and looking at what's available at the moment makes me want to stick with them.

Dani Carvajal wasnt even started in all games this season, and with Danilo incoming... worth a shot. Too bad we didn't get to grab Danilo first.

Now that Alves isn't an option, I'd like us to keep Rafael, stick with Valencia and save the money. I think Valencia has earned the spot, unspectacular but quite solid. I've been one of his staunchest critics previously but I don't understand why he's getting so much stick for this season.

I agree with this.

No real quality in the market, perhaps Valencia/Rafael wouldn't be a bad option until there's someone attainable. No point in a short term average fix like Clyne as we've already got that.

I was actually hoping we'd get Dani Alves for a season or two whilst we scout for other promising players i.e. Fabinho/Muenir or who knows who might come available.

Don't care who, just anyone but Valencia, absolutely toilet.

lukasz piszczek?
30 years old but could do a job for a couple of years and with klopp off and no CL football he might be open to a move to a club who can offer him a good wage plus cl football for the next few years.

we're not getting Carvajal or Darmian, let's just write them off. so too Rafael, he clearly isn't in favour. let's be realistic.

it's Clyne or Coleman. that's it. i'd be happy with either over Valencia, tbh.

Stick with valencia and rafael. there simply arent the options available on the market to warrant the price tags listed. wait another season or 2 and evaluate options.

Great shout: cheap, English, PL proven. Exactly what we need

See what I did there?

The grass is always greener on the other side. There aren't a lot of great fullbacks currently up for sale. Valencia has been decent to good for most of this season. If we keep Rafael, there's little reason to spend big on that position. Hopefully, we'll be a little better on both flanks next year.

Clyne and Coleman are actual RBs -- sure they're not world class but they're both better than Valencia.

I don't know why people keep listing Rafael, his contract only has a year on it and he has played nothing but reserve football for months, I don't know how much clearer it could be that LvG doesn't rate him.

Glen Johnson is available on a free.

I hope it's a priority. I thought Valencia did a decent job as cover for half the season, but it seemed like we were conceded a lot of our stupid goals on that side towards the end.
