Quite delighted that he has slipped this far. I pick the great Enzo Francescoli.

Was going to pick him but I think he might be a little unknown compared to some of the other playmakers despite arguably being better (but more of a luxury judging by his time outside South America?) - looked a magical player though.

Can we come up with a quicker way of doing this? Everybody each round has to submit a name to Polaroid and a sufficient number of back ups in one go, as opposed to taking more than 24 hours to pass through each round - if everybody was to use their whole 12 hour entitlement we would be here until March.

Yeah we need to think of something. That won't work with the backups though because then Polaroid has a nice little database of players.

We should all (almost all) just fix a time to sit together and do it. Maybe over the weekend just before/after the football?

That thought occurred to me, even if we had some quickfire way of doing it where you had ten minutes each or so it will still take 2.5 hours to get through each round.

We could just try to arrange a night where everyone was online or they'd be skipped, say Sunday night or something similar. We did that in the newbies and it worked fine.

We had 10 minute window before the pick moved on, worked like charm - we got through 4 or so rounds in one sitting..

Alternatively if people can't make it pick a substitute person to do your picks, if we are to get together and pick.

Another thing to consider is people might not have names in mind so quickly. I had about 10 names in mind after my last pick and almost all of them have gone.

I think it would be unfair to have the draft all in one night as I wont have the free time in the upcoming days to do so
I know the time zones differences make this difficult but I am not in any rush to finish the drafting process

You've got through 3 rounds nearly in like 3 days.....how you got to March I don't know. Not even involved, but just peaking through it....seems to be going as quick as any offline draft I've done(baseball, american football) mainly.

I'm off soon. Anyone on tonight I can PM my first choice picks to?

Let me think of a solution and I will get back to you guys

The top drawer defenders are going fast. I'm choosing Juve stalwart, Ciro Ferrara

Just reading the above comments - one pick a day with a half hour window each? I'm working a lot this week, but can slyly use my phone to do this if I know when I'm supposed to do it

Okay lads, my first pick tonight is Man Utd and Ireland legend Denis Irwin

I'm going to sleep and I've already PM'ed Brwned my picks, if my chance comes that is.

Brwned will be making two picks before you, it will be more appropriate for someone who is making his picks after you to post your picks on your behalf instead

I'm not going to steal anyone's picks.

I do not mind a one-night sitting to get these all done, in fact that is my personal preference too, but until we can find a date and time everybody is comfortable with, I propose a working solution - you are free to appoint assistant managers and authorise them to act on your behalf.

In the event you do not have an assistant manager and you know you will be away for some time, PM your picks to all the managers who will be making their picks after you.

How it works is like this, say it is the 3rd round of drafting and Team Brian GB was the latest manager to make his pick, kps88 is about to log off and knows that he could be away for some time, in this case he will PM his 3rd and 4th round picks to the managers who have already made their 3rd round picks and will be making their 4th round pick after him ie DanNistelrooy, IBleedRed, myself and Team Brian GB.
Another example, say it is the 4th round of drafting and I have posted kps88's 4th round pick on his behalf, Ralaks is going away for some time so he PMs his 4th and 5th round picks to the managers who have made their 4th round picks and will be making their 5th round picks after him ie Brwned and kps88

No need to ask around, just PM. This will be the standard operating procedure.

We need initiative and cooperation on this, if you know you are going to be away for some time, PM your picks, if you can help someone post their picks, help them. In the end, everybody benefits.

I'm not going to steal anyone's picks.

By making his picks known to you, there is a conflict of interest - you are supposed to be picking two players for your team but by virtue of accepting his request, you are obliged to reserve those players for him and exclude them from the pool of players you can pick. I am not sure how you two communicated over this but it will certainly be more appropriate for someone with no such conflict of interest to help KM instead.

I wasn't going to pick the player he wants to pick, but if I did I would have just told him that I was going to pick him anyway. Of course that means he'd have to believe me and thus involves an element of trust...but it would be taking internet gayness to a new level if I was going to lie about a fantasy draft. I understand what you're saying but there's no issue whatsoever.

Brwned, do you have to persist in this? you can PM me his picks and I can post on his behalf.

Gianfranco Zola

The magic man. Probably my favorite player to watch outside United in the PL ever. Highly respectable individual, a great footballer and my former seating buddie.
