I think people like Suker can be the steals of the tournament given it's based on how good they were at their peak. At the end of the day most people will vote off instinct and reputation but going off their peak form there could be a few good one or two season wonders that sneak by. People like Fowler who might not have had the lengthiest peaks but when they peaked they shone as brightly as anyone. Much easier to find forwards who did so than defenders though.

He topped the scoring chart at France 98 with 6 goals, firing Croatia to 3rd place at the World Cup.
That year Suker placed 2nd in the European Footballer of the Year and 3rd in the FIFA World Player of the Year.

At Euro 96, he was also in the UEFA Team of the Tournament. Moved to Real Madrid that summer and subsequently won La Liga, Spanish Supercup, Champions League and Intercontinental Cup with them.

He had a great scoring record at Sevilla too, and a quick gander at his stats shows for Croatia show that he sustained a ratio of not far off a goal a game for Croatia from 1992 through to 1998. He was far removed from being a one-season wonder, as well as being absolutely superb at his peak. I'm surprised he wasn't picked before to be honest. Great choice.

The last time we didn't give the first & last guys the extra 12 hours, but guess it's up to Pol to decide.
 
12 hours per manager not per pick, the time allowance is to accommodate family/work/school commitments and possible time zone differences, it is not for the manager to mull over each pick per se, so no extra 12 hours for DanNistelrooy. Less than 40 min left before the draft skips to IBleedRed.

38 goals from 44 internationals for Croatia
114 goals from 211 appearances for Sevilla and Real Madrid
Flair, finesse, finishing, he was absolutely top-draw, one of the premier strikers in world football during the 90s
