There's no explicitly defined internal system for this, more of a play it by ear sort of thing, mainly due to the fact there's no concrete metric to measure against, e.g. something could be true but not reported, or something could be only partially true, or something could be false but coincidentally shit rags conjure up the same rumour.@ubergorp
I've been wondering something similar to smallcaine and lo and behold.
Is there any criteria for being stripped of ITK status? 'This person's good info was around 30% for a while but man he or she hasn't been above 10% correct in ages....' Do you guys have an internal system in place by which an ITK can be relegated to KFC status, for example.
Worth mentioning, we try to hold on to newcomers' info until they get a few things right as an extra layer of verification, so in theory we should never have to resort to that option.
We have stopped posting certain sources' bits of info previously, though, due to the exact reasons that @SmallCaine mentioned. This was when we were settling in and figuring stuff out still, and we haven't had to do it since, mainly due to the fact that its much quieter for us when the window's closed. This is only our second summer window, and we're still always learning and trying to improve things!
I did respond to @SmallCaine's comment in an edit here, if you're interested.
Also, I'd just like to say thanks for being nice. I enjoy answering questions about this sort of thing without feeling the need to get my heckles raised and go on the defensive.
