Some of the info is spookily correct. Not bad, better than most journos then I guess.
Is it?

I think 99% of people expected Sánchez to leave for free as his wages were so huge. £30m a year in wages? We don’t need a fee for that, just let him walk and it’s £60m saved in 2 years.

I’m watching closely to see if they report anything that’s genuinely off the radar, but so far nothing said by them about Sancho or Sánchez is surprising at all.

Some of them were even saying sancho was completed and finished, but the most reliable journalist of all Romano is saying it isn’t close yet... so who do we believe?

Of course though when it takes another 5 days they’ll still say “told you so” and get their internet kudos

Until they post something I haven’t already read elsewhere I won’t believe any of it.

You're most probably right.

I think I'm just shook we found a buyer for Sanchez, never thought that would happen given his wages. My heads spinning.

To drive the point home, look at Simon Stone's twitter feed before every major transfer United has pulled off. He even tweeted this today:

This guy is considered tier 1/2 for United. It's not just club statements providing misinformation.

Sánchez has been playing well at inter and seems happy there, they’ve been talking about signing him permanently for months. I knew he wouldn’t be returning ole made that quite clear.

Anyways, the proof will be in the pudding eventually, but I think people just like believing the idea of having more knowledge before anybody else, even if it’s not correct.

The bolded makes literally zero sense, in fact the whole point of bringing these reports up is to say that the media will always be behind the curve as clubs will always want to manage expectations/put out propaganda. You can't have it both ways, where you cite the media to discredit the ITKs but then say that what is put out by journalists can also be deception.
It makes perfect sense. Why wouldn't they report on it? Did you even bother opening the post? It's their job to report the news. Whether it's a lie or not it's immaterial. They'll also report what they believe to be right. Separate the two.

And seriously, stop lumping all media into one neat pile. Should I assume all ITKs are the same as Indykalia?

The reality is, any supposed ITK can double down on a bit of info reported by someone else, and if they're proven to be wrong, it's no big deal. Credible journalists can't do that. Reporters like Romano know a hell of a lot more than they report, which is why when they do commit to something, you know it's as credible as you can get.

What point are you trying to drive home exactly?

Simon stone works for the BBC who don’t talk in speculation and rumour. He only confirms when something is confirmed by the club themselves, he never announces news before it happens.

He can have his own opinion on stuff but he is always on the pessimistic side.

Whatever happened to that Simon x fella ?

Edit, found him, hasn't tweeted since 27th July.

I'm confused. Are the 'believers' in this thread genuine or is that part of the joke here?

Ya that's the point, someone like Romano has access to the same info that is being put up on reddit and so that why Romano keeps on giving winks to replies on people asking him when there will be more news on Sancho. He doesn't want to put his neck on something where he hasn't gotten wind of an imminent club statement announcing the transfer. The point of the ITKs is to give people advanced notice to be ahead of the media curve (curve referring to when journalists are ready to risk their credibility and make a claim), not that the ITKs know something that journalists like Romano don't.

That's part of the fun, you have to guess
I suppose they can just change their mind like the ITKs they follow.
Can I put my own made up rumours in here or do I have to put them on Reddit first?

Umm, Romano literally put this on his instagram today: - Talks between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho are now in ‘advanced stage’.

No that isn't the point.

Are they though? If they are as ITK as you and others claim, there would be nothing vague about their info. There would be no '80%' deal done, 'expect something in a week or two,' there would be no claims that Sanchez would move to Inter on a reduced fee only to discover they are wrong.

It's very easy to formulate predictions based on what we already know. If you asked me a month ago to predict what will happen with Sanchez, I would've said he'd go to Inter on a free.

Could you do me a favour and give me some solid info that the ITKs have reported before any media outlet or reporter? I'm not here to tell you it's all bullshit, it's up to you if you want to believe it, but I'm interested to see how far back these insiders go.

You should send your info to the muppetiers. Once they post it (they won't), you can then paste it here and everyone can laugh about it. Or I invite you to make a new thread here titled "ITK info I came up with while sitting on the toilet". Otherwise sadly, I do think it would be against the rules of this thread.

Unless he claims it's real. Then it's fine.

this is actually itk numberless btw

Sanchez to Inter is permanent after all. Sorry for getting that one wrong then it seems. Was told Inter wanted to wait to pay the fee a year for FFP sake, seems they've changed mind to exploit the FFP changes instead.

ITK 4 admitting he was wrong on details regarding the Sanchez transfer. No backtracking or deleting of info. ITK 3 gets +1 for credibility.

So wait, we're giving them credibility for getting things wrong, just because they don't backtrack?

Sign me up to be ITK

How do you know I aren't already?

I've already proved myself to be ahead of the media here in the Jiminez thread:
My sources say its nonsense.

Actually, most people would have predicted a month ago that Sanchez would return to United as his performances at Inter pre-lockdown were bad. It's only post lockdown that Sanchez has found a new level with Inter. Plus this from Chris Wheeler, who I actually think is somewhat credible from a couple of weeks back: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/a...lemma-Alexis-Sanchez-returns-Inter-Milan.html

And it's not my job to convince you of anything. All of the information going back months (even before 2020) is archived on the muppetiers. You can read through all of the threads, cross-check with media reports at the same time, and come to your own conclusions. It's made easier by the fact that most, if not all, the media reports at the time are posted in the comments section below the main post.

So wait, we're giving them credibility for getting things wrong, just because they don't backtrack?

Nope, ITK 4 got it wrong, ITK 3 got it right so he gets the famous "+1". However, ITK 4 has gotten other things right before. Who to trust?!?!?!

How do you know I aren't already?

I've already proved myself to be ahead of the media here in the Jiminez thread:

Because you would have made a bigger deal of it already. I really do encourage you to try though, I am curious to see how "fool-proof" their ITK verification is. Seriously. (Or am I?)

It is archived. We've already established ITK3 is making it up. Let's look at some of the others.

July 20:

ITK1: VDB - Deal done - Clearly wrong.
G5: Sancho - Just needs to sign on the dotted line. Clearly wrong.
ITK4: Sancho - deal done. Clearly not.

July 21st:

G5: Sancho - Deal done. Clearly not.

ITK1: Sancho - Deal confirmed by 28th. Clearly not.

ITK 4: Sancho - Offer accepted by Dortmund - Clearly not.

Eerrrm...

Your ITKs are saying it’s a done deal when it clearly isn’t? they’re in talks but it’s not agreed yet. If they’re so credible surely they’d not be saying it’s finished yet, they’d know talks are still on going?

Even Romano is eagerly waiting for those 3 magical words from his own mouth(or twitter account)

It’s ingenious it really is.

They can just put out 5 different views and usually one of them will get it right eventually

Then the muppetiers gets credibility while the wrong ones can say “sorry source was bad, will get the next one”.

People don’t care if it’s wrong if they get to sign the player eventually in the long run

Until the moment I see one of them predict a player that is out of the blue like Ighalo I won’t believe a word. None of them knew that was coming strangely enough.

You bring up the age-old argument of what "done" means. Done can refer to the parameters of the deal being agreed by all sides. It can mean the transfer will be announced tomorrow. It can mean official papers have been drawn up and are being checked by the legal teams. This is the main issue with the ITK info brought up on the subreddit itself.

In the case of VDB for example, Ajax tier 1 said more than a month ago that the VDB deal was basically all United and was imminent. The deal parameters are likely finished (makes sense as VDS is close with United) but United could see VDB as an alternative and pull the trigger on VDB if they don't get their first choice (which the ITKs have said all along is Grealish).

That was put on a different desk, clearly.

Exactly. The whole world knows the deal is In progress and it could be announced/broken at any stage. Man united transfers are the most public of any club. He’s waiting to hear it’s all been agreed yet we have others saying it’s been done for days?

Talks could literally refer to Dortmund trying to find a replacement before they let Sancho go and everything else is held up until that occurs. The parameters of the deal may already be done, heck even the legal checks may already be done in that scenario. Again I refer back to my earlier post where I mention that the media just last week said that United had begun talks with Dortmund over a fee. You actually believe that all of the finer details of a deal involving more than 100 million pounds will be wrapped up in a week (if we are to go along with the media timeline)?

And what does "advanced stages" mean if a deal "isn't even close yet"?

Because you would have made a bigger deal of it already. I really do encourage you to try though, I am curious to see how "fool-proof" their ITK verification is. Seriously. (Or am I?)
I wouldn't because if I was genuinely ITK I wouldn't be broadcasting it on the Internet at all. (Or would I?)

Yet we’ve literally been after sancho since last summer when we tried to sign him. It was clear as mud if we got the CL we would try to sign him again.

Why does it take an ITK to confirm that?

You’re giving them praise for telling you the sky is blue. Bring me something that’ll shock and amaze me, you’re doing nothing to show they are credible apart from them reading a few newspapers and putting their own spin on things.

I don't get why people converse about this shite when they don't believe in it.

It's even gotten very heated at times, what's wrong with you guys? If you don't believe in anyone or anything, just wait for the official club announcements and get on with your lives, for fecks sake.

Then you don't say 'done.' You specify. If they have the info, they can specify. It's not difficult. If the parameters are agreed, then you don't continue to discuss the parameters.

That's nice and vague, isn't it? It's done, unless the club decide it's not done.

But while we are on it. On the 20/21/22 July

ITK4 said it was all agreed and the legality just needed checking.

G5 said fees and clauses all agreed 3 weeks ago. Just need medical and contract signing.

ITK1 said it was done and would be revealed before 28th.

And now we have ITK3 categorically getting the Sanchez deal wrong.

All specifics, all wrong.

I don't need to show you anything to say they are credible or not. How can I say that they are even credible if I don't even have access to the verification they have supposedly provided? The whole purpose of this thread is to discuss the info being put out by the ITKs and to keep it out of the other transfer threads, where journalist info is discussed. It's all a part of the transfer season. No one is asking you to believe any of it, nor to drone on about the same crap about how it's all rubbish. It is literally in the disclaimer so I would recommend you adhere to that and stay clear of the thread if you can't handle it.

It’s just a discussion. Don’t know why people care so much whether we talk about it or not.

I’m genuinely intrigued to see if this is legit or not, I’d like to believe it’s real but I’ve seen nothing so far to confirm anything.

It’s all just “I’m hearing it’ll be done soon, need to confirm it” or “this information was held back last night but now we can release it after it’s public knowledge”

How about you quote what is actually stated in the reddit post. ITK1 does not say it would be revealed before the 28th, he said it would be done by the 28th. I refer you back to the debate regarding what done means in this context.

You don't have any info to say that ITK4 or G5 are wrong as they don't claim the deal is about to be announced. Sancho was on vacation at that time anyways, doubt he's gonna do a medical in Ibiza.

Finally, ITK 3 got the Sanchez deal correct, ITK 4 was the one who himself came out and said he got the Sanchez deal wrong.

EDIT: Here is further details shared about that ITK1 point you misquoted:

"
ITK 1 - (11PM UK July 20th)
Deal to be concluded by the 28th of July. Has been fully briefed that the deal is accepted and happening and preparing for next phases.
"
July 29th:
ITK 1 - Just wanted to update where things are at from his point of view. As far as he can see everything was agreed as of the 28th as expected (yesterday).

Will never know when an announcement will occur or that side of a deal will finish (medical, etc).

There are obviously many steps after the deal is agreed. Tomorrow there is a meeting that should be formalizing everything tomorrow internally. Don’t have all the details of what goes on, but expecting that following that is when things should break publicly.
"

You've just pointed it out.
Tier 1 Ajax source says VdB is 'Done'
Also, ITK on your go to source for info says it's 'Done'

They're both wrong.
But to back up your ITK guy, because a Ajax source says it's done and got it wrong, the ITK should also be forgiven

So this is literally a no lose situation for them right?

They can just say “DVB was a back up, the deal was done but we decided against it and chose somebody else”

They can keep this going as long as they like as long as people believe them.

Is there any form of penalty system in place? 3 strikes and you’re out type of thing?

So this is literally a no lose situation for them right?

I imagine the newspapers after deadline day passed.
United promised us they were signing him! The deal was in place, they just said it'd be done on the last day!
They instead signed Grealish..... What a bunch of messing cun...s!
Now we can't sell him as there is no time.

As if any club would allow a deal like that.
Yeah ok, you can have him, we'll hold onto him as long as you want, and if in the end you back out, thats also fine by us, because you know, who cares about our finances

Why should I care to ask for an ITK to be "forgiven". We don't even know if the ITKs or the Ajax tier 1 have been proven wrong yet as done does not always equal announced for the reasons mentioned previously.

So this is literally a no lose situation for them right?

Shouldn't the same thing apply to the Ajax tier 1 in this instance also (who actually reported the info first)? This same journalist, Mike Verweij, has gotten a lot of Ajax related info stuff right previously.

I do agree that a robust review system needs to be in place at the muppetiers for them to be taken more seriously by a larger amount of the football spectrum. That's not my problem though, nor is that the main focus of this thread.
