Yeah just saw this. Think I'll just let both go through barring any last minute votes that might change things.
Christ, don't get rid of Bebop.
I liked Bebop more. Probably just prefer the style of show more than it being better though. Them having an almost identical rating on two sites is pretty funny.
Throw the 2 of them together and make it a collective anime option. I presume there aren't a huge number of anime options and they'll struggle against western shows
There are also a ton of shows with a 100% rating for season 2 onwards and <10 reviews, as most reviewers tend to stop after the first.
Is West World not a popular show? Thought people really liked it... I only saw season 1 and thought it was just ok.
I considered it, season 1 was brilliant, did the mystery really well. Found myself listening to podcasts midweek theorising on whats going on desperate for the next episode. That's a pretty good sign of a favourite show. Just couldn't quite fit it in.
I enjoyed the first season and was looking forward to the second but it just didn't connect for me was too abstract for my liking.

We already know that one of The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad and Band of Brothers will win and that all 4 will make top 8 barring a "team kill". For me the fun part is to see what people like besides the "correct answers".

It will all be completely random.
9 groups of 5 and 1 group of 6 (as there was a legit tie).
Those 4 will probably win their groups but there's plenty of chance for others to make it through.
I'll make it clear on Monday.
Oh now I really hope that those 4 end up in the same group and then the two winners early in the knockout stages

I was assuming most votes would be top seed and then second most votes would be on the other side of the draw, etc…
Nah, I want there to be equal chance for other stuff beyond the big name shows. But there should be no reason these shows can't make it in the format I will use.
Seeding will be used for the KO round.
Remember, although this contest is done using the group stages and KO rounds, the final round will be the same as the previous contests. So all the big shows should in theory have enough chances to make it.
If there is an online tool that supports this and is simple to use (i.e allows copy/paste) and @Dirty Schwein has the actual list sorted by votes, then I guess it would only take an extra minute to do it this way. But then someone would need to find that website for him.
He may also prefer to keep it random though.

Top 2 from each group automatically make the finals
3rd place goes into KO round (and top seed so starts on +5 points)
4th place goes into KO round (bottom seed so starts on 0 points)
The KO round will be random 3rd Vs 4th place shows.
Then we will end up on 30 shows for the final, where everyone will choose their top 10 in order, which will be tallied up to get to our list of Top 30 shows.
We considered going down the UCL method in the past but the voting and results just won't be as much fun.

@Dirty Schwein that seems like a good system. It's fun and it also pretty much guarantees that the most popular shows will proceed, so there should be no complaints.

Westworld, same as you. Pretty interested at the start because I really dig the movie but was already checking out mentally at the end of S1. Just read in the newspaper two days ago that a rather serious book about it got published and it’s supposed to be pretty good read with AI making everywhere headlines (literally) nowadays. Can guarantee I won‘t read it but I‘d rather do that than watch the show.

Interesting enough i didnt see a single mention of Andor wich is the best tv show of all Star Wars related shows.. also severe lack of a comedy shows. They were at their peak in the 90s so may be thats why..
It’s hard to champion shows like Lost, GoT, True Detective, Stranger Things, and others that started out brilliantly but ended up steaming piles of poop.
