That was psychological warfare at the end of the first from Hawkins, show Williams he's cueing well and made him stew on those missed blacks off the spot.

Been a fun match overall, think Williams will come through but yeah it's hard to see him troubling Higgins too much if he plays like this, especially if Higgins picks up where he left off today. Guess having two of the Class of 92 facing each other in the final will be something at least.

Very nostalgic final! Really do like Williams but i think Higgins is a quality player, and will come out on top.

Higgins will always be a cnut for what he did, hoping Williams wins it, but I'm sceptical to say the least.

I can't believe he did it!!

I had to watch on my phone as everyone else in the pub was glued to boxing but I think I got my money's worth, to never be behind until so late must be heartbreaking for Hawkins, who played so well, but for Williams to pull out the win, by grit, determination and incredible self-belief, was something else.

Williams looks good, though amazing how he misses easy ones and absolutely smashes long pots. At some point Higgins will come back so its good Williams is opening a lead.

Good start Williams but Higgins will be coming back and winning this I feel, think the long night Williams had last night is going to tell sooner rather than later.

Also who doesn't love a minstrel!

Williams is 4-0 now, if he opens up a 6 frame lead I don't think Higgins can come back from that

I just don't think he'll get 6 ahead at any stage, Higgins will win this comfortably I think.
Well let's see, he four ahead right now and so far Higgins looks very poor. While he may win it won't be comfortable by any means.

Sure. :) but winning 18-14 is hardly 'comfortable', a four frame gap when its 35 frames is pretty much nothing.

It's comfortable when you were 4 - 0 down, seems I'm playing with an experienced betting man here! Trying to shorten the odds for me.

What would you consider comfortable? :p

Nice to see two oldies in the final. Williams was amazing to watch in the early 2000s- long pots, fast and flair, with a chilled persona. Would love to see him clinch number three, so many years on.

Where did I say it's comfortable 4-0 up? I said Higgins should win unless Williams opens up a gap.

I said winning by 4 frames is comfortable when YOU WERE 4 down at the start of the game, read the post again mate, relax. :wenger:

You need to go and read again. I said William is 4-0 and if he opens a lead of 6 he will probably win. But if not Higgins is favourite.

Nowhere did I mention comfort or anything. I'm not sure what you're going on and on about. I simply said 18-14 for me is a close match especially now as Williams is more than halfway there. Even at 4-0 I never said anywhere Williams is favourite. Even now according to you Higgins will win by 'atleast 4 frames' which means he will have to win the next 15 frames 11-4, which is extremely unlikely.

Williams racing into a 13 - 7 lead. Still a bit to go but if he gets a couple more and maintains a lead of this magnitude, I can't see Higgins getting back into it. But you never know, we've seen huge momentum swings before.

Crikey just seen the score. A Williams win 15 years on from his last one would be a hell of an achievement.

He has underachieved a lot has Williams but what a win if he manages it from here after all this time. Higgins just made mistakes from the first frame.
