Balls...looks done now.

Can't say he doesn't deserve it after that comeback, brilliant mentality.

Didn't want either of them to win, lesser of two evils won in the end. Still can't stand him and he's fecking wife you see far to much of.

Real shame the both couldn't lose, but I suppose that was the least awful result.

Never been massive on Selby, but warmed to him a tad during this tournament considering how good he's been at times. Resilient as feck and an incredible, consistent player.

He's as difficult to beat as Mourinho's United. And at times as dull, but you have to respect six years as world number one, three world titles in four years.
Community Shield and League Cup lol.

Pretty average tournament overall. Good semi between Ding and Selby, but the match ups in general weren't anything special.

Can't really see anyone surpassing Selby at the moment, his consistency is unmatched, and his game isn't too bad either, was hoping Trump would take the mantle off Ronnie but he lacks the discipline and I don't think he'll mature until it's too late.

Reckon Selby will be breaking records.

Ronnie reckoned Selby has 6-7 years left at the top.

Glad for Selby, he really is a great player, love watching him play these long matches.

The Jester from Leicester has to be one of the most ill conceived nicknames ever though.

Depends how his eyes hold up so it's difficult to predict! The only thing you can say is that his his dedication and mentality is pretty much up there with the best ever, he's shaky on his shots but he's always done that, depends if he gets worse with age and if he can allow for more sway cos I'm always amazed how much he moves on his shots now.

Think he can certainly dominate for the next 6-7 years and probably compete into his mid 40's and rack up a fair few centuries in doing so, compared to Hendry and Ronnie he'd be an unremarkable name but it's the fault of those guys for not holding on to that hunger for longer.

I thought that had been my imagination, his head moves around loads sometimes! What's wrong with his eyes?

Definitely not just you, it boggles my mind because if you play you know how steady you need to be! And sometimes the body movements he has you simply have to question how the feck he cues straight!

Weird how the amount of practice he must put in you'd think he'd know how to stay steady by now, he must be used to it and he must time the sways because it doesn't compute with me.

I remember watching their final 10 years ago. Didn't think Selby was up to much then.

Trumps the one who will get the centuries record. He's already overtaken Steve Davies and is only 20 odd behind Selby himself. Not sure if he'll win any world titles mind.

I'd probably agree with you, but I can see Trump falling off the proverbial cliff soon, I really don't think his heart is in it and I'm under the impression that he considers himself good enough not to have to improve anymore.

It's a shame but the difference in temperament between Trump and Selby is night and day, that's why I think Selby's consistency will put him up there with the record breakers.

Brilliant, Selby, brilliant. Way to fecking go.

Good stuff from Higgins too, had an excellent season considering he's what...41?

Three victories in four years, that's quite incredible. Selby has surely booked his place among the all time greats now, and there's a lot more to come you'd think. The only one ready to really challenge him is Ding. Trump lacks a bit of maturity but he's a good deal younger so that may still come.

Isn't Trump 28 now? Selby started to come into a league of his own at that point and was challenging for major honours, I don't think Trump has it in him to make that next step, yeah he's shortened his back swing but he's still prone to the lack of concentration and discipline that'll ultimately keep him away from dominating like everyone thought he would.

Question is, does anybody think Selby could match Hendry in terms of world titles? Obviously he'd have to go on the same sort of run as him having 5 I'm a row to have a shot, clearly Joe Davis will never be caught.

Thought it was a cracking final and a fitting end to an excellent tournament.

Best player won and I'm of the opinion Selby doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Incredible to comeback from 10-4 down, how he won the last three frames on Sunday night I'll never know. Fantastic effort to bring it back to 10-7 overnight.

He's now one of only four players to win back-to-back world titles, and you could argue he is one of the most complete players of all times. Really seems to have it all and I hope he goes on to win a couple more.

Trump is 27 and has already been runner-up at the world championship once, so it's not all bad for him. I think Selby was around 30 when he won his first. You can't compare the two in terms of temperament and I doubt Trump will ever get near that, but that doesn't mean he'll never be good enough to consistently challenge for the world title. If he can sort himself out there's no reason he couldn't be a regular at the one table setup between his 30-35.

At the moment Selby is so dominant you'd be tempted to say he might reach Hendry's record but such predictions are never easy. Perhaps in a couple of years he'll lose some of his drive and determination. After all, how long can he keep this up? Perhaps Ding will improve that extra little bit and deny him on the next occasion. Or he'll just have an off day. He'd have to avoid all of that to get to those numbers. He has a chance of pulling it off and I can see him matching Ronnie's 5, but I think Steve Davis or Hendry's records might be asking a bit much. No matter what he'll go down as one of the greatest players ever I think.
