Redcafe Snooker

Both players have poor temperament. I am a Ding supporter though so I hope he wins. Ronnie does seem like a nice guy though.

I can't see Ding giving this away. Perhaps if Ronnie takes the final frame and returns with fresh ideas tomorrow, but it'd be a big ask.

I like Ronnie too. Idolised the player since I was a youngster but following him on Twitter has made me realise he's not a tortured soul or misunderstood, he's just generally not very bright.

He's cooking now.

Marco Fu is getting destroyed here, 11-2 now. Haven't been able to watch any of it so I don't know if it's a case of him playing really poorly but Selby must be playing very strongly. He has the game to give any player a tough match even when he's not playing that well himself, but if he gets into this kind of form he is an incredible competitor. I still don't really like watching him in general, but there's no denying he is a fantastic player.

Selby's playing brilliantly, maybe on route to third century in a row, though, that might have something to do with playing without pressure. Fu is too far behind, and doesn't play good.

Just tuned in on my lunch for this frame, absolutely unreal how Selby has cleared those reds up. I'm no expert at snooker but that seems ridiculous.

Selby suddenly playing like peak Hendry once he's 5 frames ahead.

Wretched coward that he is. I don't know how anyone can betray their talent like that.

Barry Hearn has been great for snooker.

I just wish he'd fight for more longer matches tournaments. WC is just miles above every other tourney now, and I hardly ever get excited about those best-of-seven matches anymore.

I agree with that.

That miss from Ding, though

O'Sullivan doesn't actually look 'on it', but I get the feeling that Ding won't have the mental strength to keep him at bay.

O'Sullivan to win.

If Ding clears up from here, he wins the match. If not, I think Ronnie will take it. Huge pressure.

what a match, shame this will finish soon if Ding keeps up in this form

Was rooting for a Ronnie vs Fu semi, shame to see them both go out. Can't see anything other than a Selby vs Higgins final with Selby winning.

Yup, it'd take a VERY brave man to bet against Selby now.

Both Hawkins and Higgins have Selby's number at Crucible. Though, that was different time, different Selby. While he's still a favourite, don't count out Ding. If he plays like this, has all the chance.

There's still dark horse, Maguire.

Higgins is getting on, and I don't fancy Hawkins in a long game vs Selby... And Maguire? I'd (almost) rather Chelsea win the treble :D

Last chance for Ronnie!

Dings my favourite. If he can beat Ronnie, then he'll have the confidence to take on Selby.. for me the winner of this match is the only legit threat v Selby.

@Mrs Smoker Maguire been a dark horse since he started his career and has always flattered to deceive.

Tight frame again.. this should have been a semi or a final.

Now we see how much bottle Ding really has.

Special performance there from Ding, will live long in the memory. Hope he wins it now, that was brilliant.

Wenbo and Sullivan are effectively his semi and final. Like with Fu I see another slapping by Selby. He might be boring but Selby is a true professional never opening the door for the opponent regardless of the scoreline.

I'm always disappointed to see Ronnie go out, those lighting quick massive breaks are always fantastic to watch. I really like Ding so I hope he wins it but he'll have to produce an even better performance to knock Selby out. Selby in this kind of form is a different animal. Good luck getting any easy clearances against him. I do think Ding has it in him, but he'll have to show it when it counts. Whoever wins that match will be massive favourite for the final.

Yeah it's absolutely impossible to judge what someone is like from the 4000k+ things they have said over the last 6 years.
