Ding out to 3.50 with the bookies at the moment, don't know whether to take him now or wait to see if Wenbo gets in first then take him at better odds. I fancy Wenbo to be very nervy this frame even if he gets in first.

Yeah, even stayed at 3.50 when Wenbo hit the pink by mistake so shot a decent stake on but reserved some incase he went infront.
This referee always seems a lot more vocal and strict than the others... don't think I like it too much, he talks more than the commentators ffs.
Ding should win from here.
The confidence/naivety to play some of these shots in a deciding frame... Makes for great viewing.

Thing is we haven't even seen the best of Ronnie during the early rounds yet. Dings record isn't great against Ronnie either.
Yeah true, you'd fancy if both players were playing at similar percentage levels that Ronnie would come out ahead. Psychologically, past experience surely gives Ronnie another advantage.

Seen Murphy and Allen both get disgusting kicks today that made big differences.
Would it be sporting, justified or just ridiculously romantically idealistic to suggest their opponent plays a safety back to baulk after this rather than taking advantage of the situation, similar to returning possession in football etc?

There's several degrees of kick, & some players might feel like they're owed a bit of sportsmanship for an average kick while the opponent disagrees. For the harshes kicks, though... Maybe.
It's romantically idealistic, but I wouldn't mind seeing it myself.
Murphy also a disgustingly flukey fluke to win the last frame in the match before, when he was really under the cosh.

Not watched a single match yet, been to busy with work etc etc but nice to hear that Ronnie put out Fatty Smurphy. He's always a smug git anyway in his interviews and comments, despite being a pork chop looking, Mcdonalds muncher. Just finished watching 40 years at the Crucible and the "Rack Pack" was on after. Some memories and some characters.
Fu/Robertson at 8-8 finishes tonight. Should be a good game.
The top half of the draw with Ronnie, Ding, Selby and Robertson/ Fu is truly evil. It should produce 2 classic quarter finals. The bottom half is also intriguing, I watch a lot of snooker and I've had Wilson down as a future World Champion for a while. Peter Ebdon said he could do it this year, personally I feel it's a bit early. Hawkins is usually involved at the business end of tournaments but Maguire is playing some good stuff this year, this being the benefit of coming through 3 x best of 19 qualifiers while the seeds are sat at home waiting for the draw.
It's a really tough one to call, I put my money on Fu a couple of weeks ago but if Selby gets his third Title I don't think it would surprise many.

Would be good to see Wilson win, the games not really had any big newcomers since Trump and a new top talent would shake things up a bit.
He hasn't really got any weaknesses. Ok so no particular aspect of his game is 'the best' i.e. safety, potting, rest play, tactics. But I'd say he's on course to be in the top 3 in the world in all aspects and that's a good recipe for success. He has a better mental side of the game than Trump.
Ronnie - Wilson final would be ideal in my eyes.

Considering they're both getting on a bit, would maybe be nice as a final big clash between the two.
Couple months back I had a £10 each way bet on Marco Fu to win the whole thing at 40/1. He went down to as far as 17/1 before the Worlds started to win. Actually gone up now even though he's half way through the second round due to his tough round of the draw. If he makes it past Robbo I can't seem him beating Selby, but let's hope.
Fu's often been a quietly consistent player, likable too, would like to see him go on a run like Bingham and finally win it.
Sadly i cant see it. He is one of those i wish would win it, likeable fella and decent snooker player. Would be nice for him to even make the final.
