Selby at 5.0. Given the mammoth task of getting over the line (for Brecel), plus Selby being Selby, is it worth a punt? I haven’t watched much of the match
He does have a nerveless air about him but fives does strike me as generous.
Just caught the last two frames. What a century and a steal. Luca playing those shots under that pressure. Fair play to the lad. I thought when he missed that simple black that Selby would capitalise but he seems to be misfiring. Cmon Luca make me eat my words.

I don't watch snooker anywhere near as much as I should, considering that we always used to have it on in the house as a kid. My wife is gripped as her countryman Brecel is playing superbly. She's never really taken notice of the sport before but she's been asking me to explain it all to her these last few days. 
Brecel is so fun to watch. Some of the shots he makes are just breath-taking. I'm kicking myself for not making more of an effort to watch this tournament from the start.

Good, positive start to the evening by Brecel. It feels like it's only a matter of time, but you never know.
I have seen Brecel play shots that 99% of other pros would not even think about taking.

Seeing so many unbelievable shots this year. Part of me wants to believe the standard is so much higher, but part of me wonders if the tables are playing a little too easy.
Some of the pots along the cushions in particular seem incredible. That black along the bottom cushion a few minutes ago, I’d consider that a one-in-ten chance, but this year they’re going in regularly.

This will really test Selby’s usual sunny, upbeat demeanour.
Excellent break , considering he had to use baulk colures some many times.

This is such an awkward frame now, and that usually suits Selby.

Daughter just came down and asked what I'm watching, says it looks boring. Told her that it probably is one of the most boring things to watch, and YET also one of the most tense and exciting things to watch. After about a minute I caught her swerving her head to encourage Selby's recent back ball corner shot into the pocket.
