4 games played, 3 embarrassing defeats. :( People talking about everything to me while I'm playing doesn't help, but that's no explanation for how poor I've been. Only 2 games left for me this week and those are absolute must wins, doubt I will be able to do that the form I'm in.

You were desperately unlucky at times mate, few open headers missed, and it didn't help that Van Persie is such a beast in the game.

And that penalty of mine :lol: oh dear.
 
Congrats cina btw, really well played, managed to keep my players as quiet as possible and I just don't have it in me today to score goals. Took your chances well with some crisp passing.

Soldado never hits it properly, does he? Usually crossing the ball like that does the trick but not this time, and there was no playing to be made down the ground at all. I will have to use Bayern, Milan and Arsenal sooner than I wanted, I never expected to be this bad! Next game I'm using a physical team and hoof ball tactics though, no more passing, no more pretty play, Bolton or something and off we go. I might even use Liverpool in the tournament even though I despise them.
 
Arghhh..feck off.

Might have to pull out of the tourney because of this.
 
What's up with your connection mate? We were getting sporadic lag throughout but then it just gave up, can't believe i couldn't score in that first half!
 
Yeah it felt like it was dying slowly throughout the match.

Anyone got a BT Home Hub here? I've even plugged my PS3 to it through an Ethernet cable but will have to leave this because can't really assure any game to end!

There was a point in the 1st half I just had to laugh at the chances...good game nevertheless. Win's yours by default, irregardless of the score (1-0 to me as of the 80th min, for those wondering ;))
 
I had to replace my homehub as it was causing me so many issues. I'm not taking a win for that though, we'll replay if/when you can get your internet back up.

Last time I try and play the game remotely realistically. Really is no use when you're counted with exploited one two's and lobbed through balls. Sucks.

It's just that I can play 3-4 smooth games and then it'll decide to feck up for the 5th...still though, not very convenient. Will ring up BT...
 
Bizarrely, the game I dominated the league proved to be my first win. Nooshka missed a shocker at the end which would have made it very interesting indeed. Very good game though.

fecking hell, did I have a stroke in the middle of that game or were my players really that sluggish? Credit to you Xander of course but I'm in typical FIFA rage at the moment. I knew once the game started that it would be annoying, lag once more (that we both had to deal with) and I never, ever work well when there's lag. It's like an auto loss for me. But you left basically zero space, for anything, ever! :lol: I want to cry. I know it was only 1 - 0 but that game was dead in the water for me from the moment you scored. Every single pass I made rolled across the pitch in agonizing slow motion.

Cheers but I didn't really see how you were trying to play realistically? You seemed to be playing to Agbonalhor/Bent/Young, then waiting to suck a defender in and flicking it passed the, once I sussed it you didn't seem to have a plan B, til towards the end you strung some passes together and did look better.

I know what you mean about the slow mo business, it seemed that the pitch was made of treacle! The lag was annoying, takes away a lot of the fun of the game. I take no credit for not giving you any space, Ajax's default formation seems really good at closing space down and basically did the job for me. Well that and keeping the circle button pressed down for most of the game.

Anybody else from the Empire league fancy a game?

I tried changing formation at half time but it made no difference :lol: Every time I played the ball forward, I could see your defender charging at me, was too slow to do anything except get clattered by you. I'd lost my head by 70 mins :(
 
Lost again. I'm really suffering early on from having inferior teams. How I'm supposed to win when I win no headers and every player I have is slower than my opposition, I'll never know.
 
Xander, you are an early favourite for the British league with 4 wins to your name already and you've only picked one of the top sides so far (Tottenham).

My aim right now will be European place, maybe Champions League if I can get a few wins on the trot at some point during the next 22 games but I don't think I can win the league after those three early defeats. I am completely out of form, this isn't the same it used to be in previous tournament where I scored over 30 goals in 7 games. It looks like here I am going to concede the same amount.

I will be introducing series of cup competitions shortly, there will be 8 spaces in each cup, all of them will have separate rules - there will, for example, be a competition for The Championship sides, a competition for Premier League three to four stars teams etc. Same rules, i.e. each team only used once will apply. In each one of these first eight people who subscribe will have a place, and to prevent me and all the other FIFA nerds from entering all of them because we spend our entire lives on here, you will only be allowed to take part in 3 out of 5 cup competitions that will be held. Of course more active people will play in 3 while some will possibly only join 1 or 2. A total of 40 places will be available and players from both leagues will be eligible.
 
By the way, next season there will be Champions League and UEFA Cup. Champions League will consist of top 4 teams from each league. UEFA Cup will be from teams from 5 to 8 and cup winners.

There will be separate rules for both competitions, and they will differ - CL will obviously be more elite. I am working on that, don't yet know how it will exactly work.

Thanks. They're a good combo to play with up-front. Although Carroll's pretty shit expect for winning headers.

You're good with close control, a lot of the times I have an idea what you're doing but cos of quick movement I can't do much about it.
