RedCafe Cricket Draft

After my picks. The time limit will be reduced to six hours.

People can PM KM their pick if they are unsure of being awake at their time. His two picks will come way later so no chance of passing your pick to someone else.

Yeah thanks for saying Crappy that I'm a no-lifer.

Anyway yeah you guys PM me your picks.

People have gone spinner crazy. The best team of all time never had a stop spinner and coped fine. I won't be picking any.

They have. Picking the likes of Warne , Murali, Kumble etc is okay as they are top classbut if picking Kaneria , Bhajji before class players like Inzy is just wrong.

Aldo, United and Zen, quickly pick yours. I intend to make my pick today and retire for a while since it'll take another week for it to turn around again.

Feck. I had a list of 15 possible picks which has now been whittled down to 11 :(. Guess the only positive I have is that I get to make 2 picks consecutively.

I think United Fan is in Australia. Its likely he won't be on today again.

And I agree Kaneria is a panic pick. Average in the thirties. If you're okay with that kind of quality in your spin option, i think you can wait for a bit. There's a few around that level.

Eh.. it is just evening in Oz land.

Aldo picks Mahela Jayawardene
United fan picks Ian Healy.

This idea is likely to get shot down, but could it be possible to have 2 groups of 8 teams and each team plays each other in the group with the top 2 going to the semis (kind of like the actual WC structure) instead of just having a knock out game structure?

Thats a pleasant change. While I value both Mahela and Healy, neither were on pick list for this round.

ha_rooney - that might be a few too many games. I think you'd need 28 games in each group to sort the winners out. Thats never going to happen. A straight knockout with the winner getting to pick one (maybe two) player from the loser to take to the next round seems the best option to me. That way, you should have two worthy teams in the final.

That'd be too many games, Haroon.

Yeah, I figured it would be too many games. Oh well, it was worth asking!

Without drawing too many conclusions so early on, i'd say KM's team is shaping up nicely. Two top quality batsmen and one top quality bowler and another mid-level bowler. He has a while to go for his next picks but has a very solid base to build on.
