Yeah, I can never forget that Chennai test or that test series. Had it all.I knew it. Anyone who has grown up watching India v Pakistan would know this little weasel all too well. Hell of a bowler.

De Villers was going to be my next pick. Don't know why but I thought Saqlain would go unpicked for long..I thought DeVillers would last a bit longer too. Saqlain, I knew would go before long. There's maybe 5-6 good spinners in the draft. As I said in the original Kumble pick post, its a lean era for spinners. The eighties were especially bare.
A lot of the teams are going to have no real spinning options.
There's better keeper-batsmen than De Villers left.
Not many.
Not many.
Who will be on later? I might not so need someone to post my picks for me. Not sure who to trust though
Like I said earlier, the pitch should be an imaginary, perfect test wicket. Perfect contest between bat and ball.
No team should get an advantage from the pitch and it should not be a factor when voting.
Speaking as an outsider, I'm not so sure about that. Pitches play a key role in cricket and it can be like a lottery too. Some players are great players elsewhere but can't play the swing in England or the spin of the subcontinent. I reckon that should be taken into account.
Makes it slightly more interesting when it comes to voting but can understand why people will want the perfect test wicket.
Now i'm thinking we should have had made groups of 2, so this draft would have gone better.
Edit - by better, i mean faster.
Think we should have made it from the 70s onwards tbh. We are going to be picking crap players at the end.
But we started so no point going back now!
I think you can still add 70s players once you get everyone to level pegging on picks. Ah well
feck off, i so was going to pick him.Spins in demand, so gonna have to take one of the two best options available since I can't see both falling the next 10 to me. Don't think Flintoff is a shit choice either, he's a vote winner for one, and to be fair, ignoring injuries, he's a great allround option, capable of 35/28 without the injuries, and being a gamechanger to boot.

What are the factors taken into account during voting? Is it pure personal choice?

Do it. If someone thinks their pick is going to come when they are asleep then they ought to PM someone who will be awake then, perhaps someone who won't get their pick for sometime.Omar I know you're viewing this thread. FFS Make the pick soon.
I'm considering reducing the limit again to six hours. People are taking loads of time.
