Brendon McCullum
Brendon McCullum
Averages close to 30 or just above 30 don't matter much. It sometimes is a result of home country bias. If you're a fast bowler from the subcontinent, a 30 average is much better than a 28 averaging Englishman
Not really. Because most of the available subcontinent bowlers travel just as bad as some who travel to the subcontinent. Fraser never played there, but I already have two proven in Gough and Gillespie, so it's not a big deal to my team. Leaving Pakistan and Guls a 40 bowler for instance.
I would of taken Srinath too if he was available though.
Yeah Z.Khan was picked a bit late. At his best, he is a very handy bowler to haveI wasn't refering to you in specific. But for egs, Zaheer Khan is a 33 average bowler or so, but I'd rate him higher than a lets say Andrew Caddick.
Lastly, Umar Gul had a very lackluster first half to his career hitting real form only after his great performance somewhere 2009-10. After than his average has hovered 22-25 even in foreign series.
Arrgh, I just had zeroed down the Bangladeshi yesterday for a pick! Used to like Boon just because I liked his nameShakib al Hasan and David Boon.

I looked at him but i was really put off by his Test averages the last 3 years - 32, 31 and 27. Thats part timer averages not a leading batsman. I think people have lost a lot of respect for him.
Gambhir has not proved himself on foreign pitches at all.In his prime, untouchable. Never really rated him until the last few years. I don't think form has to do much with it. The entire Indian team has underperformed.
