RedCafe Cricket Draft

Ok so I want a batsman to start building up that middle order. But it would be useful to have someone who can turn their arm over occasionally and break a few partnerships.

There may be a couple of batsmen with better averages left but none with the verve, panache and (lack of) height of

Bastard! He was going to be my next pick.

He was also gonna be IL's next pick

Mightberight may have some cause to abuse but you actually thought the draft was going to go all the way down and come back to you again and he was going to be available? Fooling yourself my friend. I loved watching Aravinda bat...could always be relied on for entertainment.

Alright, need to complete my bowling attack ... so going for the first player I never saw myself..

Terry Alderman from Oz

41 matches, 170 wickets at 27.15.. including couple of blockbuster series where he took more than 40 wickets... that will do..

With your tagline, it will be shameful if you don't win this.

Things are moving along. I thought about Gayle but decided to go for Aravinda as i think he's the better test batsman. Close one though.

Fair enough, I was hoping to sneak in Aravinda for middle-order and Gayle for the top. In hindsight, Gayle's probably too obvious to have fallen to me coming back up.

There's only one more player i really want and can realistically expect to get. I'm hoping he stays for me to pick. After that, its mostly fillers anyway and i'll have to make do with whoever's available. 8 picks till i know if i'm getting him.

first time posting from my phone . rookie mistake

Wait what has your phone got to do with it? I figured you made a pick and then changed your mind immediately. Are you saying you accidentally typed in another cricketers name, all because you were on your phone?

:lol:That's what. I mean, you don't type a random name just because your on the phone.

who was DE's first pick? Alex Tudor or something? -_-

Just give me a second lads, just working out that 2nd pick. It's vital right now.

I can just picture Strech sat at a desk with spreadsheets all around him, frantically working on this all important second pick for the past hour.

Wow, after some deliberation and going back and forth, I've settled on an opening batting pair of one batsman, attacking and on top of spin and the subcontinent as well as a possible keeper if I don't find one later, the other resolute in defense and well capable of scoring big on fast bouncy wickets and a good captain to boot.

Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kepler Wessels.

There are probably better batsmen left for opening pair but I chose these 2 based on my strategy and what I have in my team so far.

Think that's the summary up till this round.

Mightberight's team looks great but tough to pick batsmen from now. Prior's an incredible wicketkeeper-batsman.
