Gaming Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia)

Chapter 4: I think while Chapter 3 is the point where the game hits a high point gameplay wise, this chapter is probably the best so far i've reached in the making the player consider the consequences of the gangs actions and the impact that Dutch is having on their overall survival. You can clearly see Dutch fall into that cult leader style position where he has started creating fanciful ideas and stories about success and begins to isolate those who disagree or create doubt on his plans. One mission where he and Arthur are riding off to the swamps and he near loses his shit at Arthur about John, Arthur himself and the others, is one of the best acts of script writing i've seen in a video game. Its that exact point where you go from thinking, this bloke is an idealist but a loveable moron to, this bloke is insane and is going to kill himself and everybody else along with him.

Crazy how fishing is the most reliable way to make money in online. You can make 85 bucks a trip and get in 3 trips within an hour. Hadn't realised I bought a fishing sim.

 feck that. The fish and water are excellent in the game but fishing could've been done better.

One thing I hate about the bounty system is how quickly everything escalates. One min I’m riding through Saint Denis, next min I’ve clipped someone with my horse and 18 police are shooting at me. fecking daft

Just then for example I was running through a market and someone ran off to the police for public disturbance. Gave me the option to calm it down but feck me

I ran over a chicken and got busted for animal cruelty

So my Level 4 Turkoman is standing on the tracks waiting for me to pick up the legendary fish just beneath. A train was fast approaching and I realized I wouldn't make it back in time. I asked my beloved horse to flee. The fecker decides to flee in the exact direction from where the train is coming, out of 360 degrees to choose from. He dead.

That just outside Saint Denis? I left my horse at the abandoned house if it’s the same location but when I was fishing a train came and I had to sprint towards it and jump at the very last second to hit dry land as I’d just had a bath and those waters looked filthy.

Tried to get on my horse but accidentally started choking a guy who was right next to my horse.

I tackled a police officer doing this. In the police station courtyard. In St Denis

Was gonna say, you get away with it most of the time. Only problem is the talk button is the same as aim. That's fecked me a few times.

Ive hunted all the legendary animals on the map. How do I find the locations of alligator etc without cheating?

Doesn’t unlock till chapter 6 and even then certain things need to have happened for it to have done so. If you’ve past that then it’s just a case of going down the right road and the message will pop up.

That sounds eerily like Dutch’s plan. “Any day now we’re leaving here. Just have a little FAITH jymufc20”
And just like Dutch they also ‘Just need some more money’, ie the inevitably impending micro transactions.

Anyone completed 100% of the game yet? I am in chapter 6 and only on 54%. Seems like I have along way to go.

I completed the story (including the epilogue) on my first play through and think it ended on about 75%. I didn't do much hunting, didn't find many gold bars, solve the murders or collect the cigarette cards.

I'd say you're quite close.

Going through it slowly now and doing everything.

You can't sleep online, you can't gain weight either if i remember correctly.

Strange - They do have stats showing if you are a certain wait then you will gain or lose speed in stamina and also gain or lose speed in health regen.

My character hasn't changed weight since i started the online beta and im glad to be honest as it was a nightmare and waste of time keeping your weight right in story mode.

We want to thank the Red Dead community for playing and sending us tons of valuable feedback during the first full week of the Red Dead Online Beta’s availability. This feedback is crucial to help shape the game as we move forward.

Today we are starting to implement the first set of adjustments to the game including changes specifically geared towards creating a more balanced, fun and rewarding overall experience, across all modes and missions. These include:

  • Increasing the cash and gold payments across a number of different activities including Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, replays of A Land of Opportunities Missions, Showdown Series modes and more.
  • Reducing the prices of most weapons in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue and Gunsmiths. For players that have already purchased weapons at the previous prices, we will automatically deposit the difference to player balances starting today - please look for an alert message the next time you log in to the Red Dead Online Beta to notify you of this change, refunds may take up until December 10th to reach all players.
  • Balancing the values of select pelts, skins and fish as well as horse reviver and pamphlets.
Of course our efforts to improve and balance the Red Dead Online Beta will continue. We are conscious of and still evaluating an assortment of further adjustments based on feedback from the community. We are currently working on fixes for some persistent bugs that are causing some players to be kicked from sessions, and we aim to have fixes for these live next week. We will also continue to review all the feedback and suggestions so please keep them coming to reddeadonline.com/feedback.

As an added thank you for playing and helping us through the beta period, we're also awarding everyone that joined in to play the Red Dead Online Beta at any point through midnight PST today with a gift of RDO$250 and 15 Gold Bars. Gifts should start arriving today and will hit all eligible players by Friday, December 14th.

Pretty decent update from rockstar, sorted out the ridiculous economy and also refunding players who bought weapons at the extortionate prices.

Also anyone who has played the beta up to midnight tonight will get a $250 and 15 gold bar reward.

So if any of you are still playing the single player mode i suggest you get online before midnight so you don't miss out.

Just started chapter 6 and I'm on 61%. Must have done a ton of side-missions.
I’ve not long started chapter 6 and am on 69.5%

I would think getting a 100% would be a massive ball ache as there are the rare flowers, the taxidermy requests, Dino bones, cig cards, fish, rock carvings and so on. So much stuff to do.

I just finished the hunting missions with the veteran. Went to see if I could blow up the boar with dynamite. It didn't work, but Buell ran off into the distance never to be seen again

I'm sure I sure ' your character has reached his minimum weight' whilst online the other day.

Completed it and traded it in. Maybe I will pick it back up in future if online kicks off or DLC is out. Certainly not willing to sink another 3/4 weeks re-playing the main story.

I completed the story, strangers, legendary animals and most of the hunting requests. I got some of the carvings, dino bones etc but I really could not be bothered hunting around for them. It's a shame the old RDR1 map is so devoid of stuff to do in terms of missions.

The legendary fish.... I will die happy if I never come across such a ballache mechanic again.

Got 524 dollars online and blew it all on a shotgun, varmint rifle and a bow.

I like how anyone that was waiting to finish the story has been punished with no free money or gold bars

To be fair, they were doing it in acknowledgement of having gotten the economy wrong - so that impacted those who had played the game.

For one specific day though. I’ve played it online and got shit.
It’s not just one day. It was anytime up through yesterday.

The payouts will be rolling out gradually. That they chose to reimburse people on item price changes probably extended the length of the process considerably...

That’s fair enough then. Could still have just given it out to everyone.
