Really proud of the team tonight

Proud? Bullshit.

Valencia and Rojo was the only ones that played well. Herrera is an absolute idiot, Pogba is the biggest bottler going and don't even get me started on Smalling.

So done. They showed zero guts tonight.

Can't imagine it would've been much different with 11 in the 2nd half. Chelsea didn't need to step into top gear and we don't really have another

Chelsea aren't actually that good.

We will do them comfortably at OT

Actually, they are that good.

We were ok. Hererra ruined the game but we defended manfully. Pogba being fecking useless was almost as problematic as Herrera being an idiot, mind you. We may have coped being down to 10 men but 9.5 was a bridge too far.

I wouldn't say proud. We defended a 1-0 loss all game and didn't create that much.

But considering the circumstances, it was better than expected. Losing 4-0 again would have fecked our season.

They missed 2 sitters, and the Rashford chance aside we had nothing even resembling an attacking display, even before the red. We played ok until the red, and the sending off ultimately killed any chance we had of going through, but there were a lot of average performances. I think the only players who can take any credit for that game were De Gea, Valencia and Rojo.

Am proud of Rashford and the defenders, especially Rojo and Young.

We will hopefully take these at Old Trafford, Conte the chronic imaginary card waver can do one.

Well as we'd racked up...zero shots on target in 34mins, i'd probably say not much would have changed

That logic. So the score was 0-0 when it was 11 vs 11, so it would have been 0-0 if the match was played for days.

They did well tonight, Valencia, De Gea and Rojo all had very good games. Up until the red card we were matching the best team in country, can't ask for anything more than that.

more than matched Chelsea until the red.

1 long range strike, apart from that we kept them pretty quiet. A team that's been scoring for fun against most the league.

Sure we could have done better with the ball but a 1-0 loss is nothing to be disappointed about, many fans thought we would lose by more with 11 men.

Well done boys, let's get Thursday won and crack on.

Sort of get where you're going with that, but we didn't come close to threatening when it was 11 v 11, so no guarantee it'd have panned out any differently.

We had 1 chance. One. We can barely score when we have 25, so it was always asking a lot to convert once.

Oh well, will quickly get over this, and the only good news is not having to postpone another league game and end up with a horrific schedule.

Proud  Most of our players look like they don't particularly give a shit whether they win or lose, and smile and joke at HT and FT.

I'm starting to have doubts about Mourinho now (and it's obviously not just based on tonight's performance).

Some really good performances, I thought.

Near impossible job, with the tactics, I'd suggest.

I'm proud of some of the team. Rashford, Rojo, Valencia, Dave... I even think that Fellaini did something.

Pogba was a disappointment, again.

Got to admit I completely forgot we were in Russia 4 days ago

Champions elect away.
Who haven't played for a week.
We've been in Russia
2 of main threats out
red card on 34mins.

Just too many odds to counter!

Nothing to be proud of. We weren't bad in the first 35 minutes and we had been robbed by Oliver but we haven't really showed any character after.

Proud?!

We were garbage and never looked like winning. Never even looked like we wanted to win...

I actually don't think too much of this Chelsea side so nah.

Hazard is class above the rest and the rest are just work horses, at least most of them are. At least in first half when it was 11 vs 11 I wasn't impressed with any player except Hazard.

That logic. So the score was 0-0 when it was 11 vs 11, so it would have been 0-0 if the match was played for days.

We were containing them, without offering any sort of threat.
We were never scoring today. We barely score when we have 25 shots!

Proud?!

We were garbage and never looked like winning. Never even looked like we wanted to win...

We did well to keep it to 1-0, but we're Man Utd, not some bloody minnow.
Only losing 1-0 shouldn't ever be some sort of success story against anyone!

De Gea, Valencia, Rojo, Young and Rashford get a pass. Fans were excellent too.

The rest, nah. Herrera cost us. Pogba looked right up for it for about 20 minutes, then he reverted to type. Jogging about, taking 5 touches too many and wondering why he's been tackled.

Hazard is class above the rest and the rest are just work horses, at least most of them are. At least in first half when it was 11 vs 11 I wasn't impressed with any player except Hazard.

Hazard is the clear difference alright. It'll be a different story for them next season with CL football to contend with.

In my eyes it was far from a 'heroic 10 man show'. Valencia and Rojo showed some guts the rest simply did what they were asked to but never tried to walk (or in Pogba's case - jog) the extra mile and push them.

Really proud of our performance today. We are coming about in bits and pieces.

Rashford, Rojo and Valencia are moral winners of this match.
I expected us to lose about 3 to 0 so losing 1 to 0 while man down..there must be some positives, I guess. I also thought that we were fine 11 vs 11 and the game could have gone either way. But if the ref decides to finish the game on 35th minute, what can you expect.

Only reason why I hang on to Pogba at the moment is that he's still very young. But he really needs to clean up his act.

We played 6 at the back after going down with not a single intent on retaining any sort of possession. The players fought but we lacked quality. When a team parks the bus the defenders have to deal with wave after wave of attacks and often look good doing so.

Also we should've subbed Darmian for Fellaini (and put Young as a LWB), not Micky.

Deary me standards have fallen if we're happy with that.

We had more fight at 4-0 down earlier in the season.

Imagine the score if Arsenal were down for ten men that long? United fought hard and with all the circumstances. El back from Russia. Missing big players up front, it was all going to be tough against a fresh Chelsea.

No shame in that result given Herrera's sending off. Great opening and thought we were going to confound the pundits. Valencia was immense and a good game too from Rojo. Pogba needs to step up though, failed to assert any real authority and I'm tired of seeing him shooting wide and then holding his head in his hands. Overall the commitment was excellent until we tired at the end. Why can't we show that against Bournemouth and others?

We have some spoiled brat fans. The OP is spot on. That's the kind of game Arsenal lose 6-1 after a setback like that. We played a better side away from home three days after flying back from Russia, we were a man down after 35mins and we hung in there right until the last few minutes.

We would have needed Chelsea to be off colour to have any chance with 10 men and credit to them they were good

Defended pretty well against a pretty good team. Not a tragedy but certainly not something to celebrate.

We didn't disintegrate Arsenal style and the likes of Valencia and Rojo went down fighting. But it was a limited performance and our big midfield buy looked out of his depth.

Wake up and smell the coffee. We were second best all over the pitch. Other than desperate defending, I don't see what else happened. Clearly the ref fecked the whole game. Soft red.
If we played 11 vs 11 odds are we would've not defended as much and would've got exposed more at the back. Even pegged back at our half they still managed to exploit so much. Rashford was isolated, couldn't sniff the ball. To me - there were no midfielders. Pogba got made look like a clown. What did he do? 90m signing. The guy is far from world class - he's a good midfielder, full stop. Fellaini - well every player will try to make a step forward and play for a club like Man Utd, Bayern or Juventus. After we all come to terms that he's not a fit, he should go back to play for clubs like Everton, WBA, Udinese, Nice, Hamburg and so on.
There are no explosive quality players in the team bar Mikhi. Martial and Rashford need to eat a lot of bread to reach the levels of Hazard, Sanchez, Robben, Ribbery etc.
I like how Mourinho set up the team, event though I wonder why Bailly was not deployed. There was a game plan. But still their punches were stronger. I think we would've lost with more had Herrera not been sent off.
The squad needs 2 forwards, whether is 2 wingers or a winger and a center forward. And most probably a reliable midfielder. Someone who is able to step up in the big games, not like Mr. Look at my new hairstyle. What a flop!

Got to admit. I'm surprised most in this thread are so negative. We were down to 10 most of the game (had our most important midfielder sent off) and then had a go at them towards the end, all without capitulating ala Arsenal (or ourselves at the Bridge earlier in the season). I'm happy to see that we've got a bit of fight in us.

On another day, Rashford converts that chance, and we might have had a bit of luck and gone through.

Terrible viewing. Clear gulf in class but yeah we didn't capitulate with 10 men behind the ball so it's not a disaster.
I really don't see the hype with this Chelsea side. Clear gulf in class is a tad over the top when we more than matched them before the sending off.
