Real to put Ronaldo up for sale

Why on gods green earth would Madrid want to sell is the bit I don't get in this muppetry.
They don't. And if there's any grain of truth in the rumours that he's thrown a strop, I'm sure they'll do everything in their power to keep him happy.

It's just the ultimate muppet story bound to emerge again (Remember the first version? ) sooner or later -- "Ronaldo to City! OMG!" It'll probably make the rounds all summer.

It'll be Messi again next week. 200 million or something.

Ronaldo>Mourinho

But seriously though...silly season in full effect.

The day a player becomes the most important man at the club is the day you're in trouble.

Mourinho is a great manager, i find it a bit contrived really. Mourinho and Ronaldo should be good together and Mourinho has gotten almost all big players on his side in his career. Only ones i can think of that werent are Robben and Balotelli.

If Mourinho honestly wants him gone then it's because it'll be for the good of the team.

I would say that day happened a long time ago at Real Madrid. And Chelsea dare I say.

Ronaldo sells a hell of a lot more shirts than Mourinho.

Erm...hello. This is Real Madrid run by Florentino Perez.

This is where star players have ruled the manager quite openly.

Believe me if Perez had a choice of Ronaldo or Mourinho, Ronaldo would win hands down. Jose is smart enough to know not to even try and pick that fight.

I've heard that City are very serious about Ronaldo and have made an offer that Madrid won't refuse but the problem for Madrid is that they can't been seen to be fodder for the richer Man City so they've engineered a fallout story to keep all sides happy.

The summer is almost upon us. This is the sort of thread which could end up being 100 pages long and complete nonsense from beginning to end.

Exactly why Madrid are a joke club.

The fact Mourinho hasnt been fired yet shows that maybe he is actually in some sort of control though. Any other manager would have been axed already.

If I were a mod this thread would be locked.

I am not a mod however.

It's a transfer story that is currently running in the media. Bollocks or not there's no reason for it to be locked.

If there's any truth at all to this story, and Real gave priority to Mourinho over Ronaldo, this would prove to me that the club has sold its soul for the (perceived) success that José might bring. As an example of this folly, I can't imagine another club of similar prestige posting videos supporting their claim of rivals' racial abuse, cheating etc on their official website - this kind of thing is usually the domain of fanboys, not historically-great football clubs.

Granted Ronaldo isn't the most popular player in the Madrid changing room but, one would think, giving Mourinho his own way over all matters is a fool's game...because even complete control wouldn't satisfy such an egotist.

Ronaldo will never go to City. As much as he is not what we'd consider a model pro in terms of staying at one club, his fondness for United and all to do with it makes me think he'd never go to City.

I could obviously be wrong, but he has a brain and he knows which club made him.

He's also a lot more savvy than is given credit. The emotional reasons are good enough but he also has strong business ties to that part of the world.

Hypothertically yes the money would be astronomical but he's happy where he is...I feel

He's only been at two previous clubs.

SL as a boy..which he was always going to leave and Utd where he gave 6 years. I'm sure he'll see out his career at RM with the possibility of playing in theUSA.

Don't know how this doesn't make him a model pro

What are you talking about?

How is giving control to the manager 'selling your soul'? It would be the only thing that club has done right in years.

It would prove to me that they've finally realised that the manager is more important for success than any individual player.

By pro I meant his media antics.

Given that Real's hierarchy put such emphasis on the club's prestige, reputation and traditions, allowing José to set whatever agenda he pleases really goes against the grain - they should, and have been, embarrassed by his behaviour; even club legends like Di Stéfano have spoken out against the style of Mourinho's management. It appears that the club's administration are now willing to go to any lengths merely to be 'winners' again; if that's not selling their soul, I don't know what is.

I think Mourinho is a very talented person - so I've no axe to grind here - but we all know what he is like: he will do, and say, anything in order to gain success or excuse defeat. Real - by their own definition of what the club is about - have cheapened themselves; they cheapened themselves by hiring José in the first place. He's known as a winner and, in the modern game/business, that is all that counts...not style, dignity or sporting behaviour.

So he left Manchester because of the weather and wanted to play in sunny Spain as it was his childhood dream.

He is now going to come back to Manchester to play for Manchester City? Yeah right!

Carrick--
--------Sneijder
Valencia-----Nani
---------Rooney---
-------Ronaldo----

It won't happen. But i personally love to see City put in a bid, Madrid accept it and leave it to Ronaldo over pondering the move. I would love to see what Ronaldo's reaction would be given it's United's city rivals and what he will do

This situation clearly justifies the club not spending the Ronaldo money.

We'll just tell Real that he came with a money back guarantee and boom, he's ours again.

Slavery at its finest.

Read this on a rumours site:

'Ronaldo says to spanish T.V: "My love for Manchester lies only on the red part, Manchester United"'

I want to see City bid 150m for him and Real accept. Then let's see how it plays out. Can the player say no? I would think so. He's strictly a cash-cow to Real anyhow.

But he made his own bed...

"As for Manchester City, I can’t ever see them being as big as United. United have all the tradition and you cannot make history in two or three years irrespective of how much money you have. City simply cannot buy what United have. I don’t know if they tried to get me but I wouldn’t play for any other English club but United.”
