Real to put Ronaldo up for sale

He's got twice the fans on Facebook than Manchester United and hasn't received any advertisement what-so-ever... Manchester United advertise pretty much every game in front of thousands, all over their website, etc. You could argue he's bigger than the club considering United have been rumoured of being the biggest/most popular club in the world going by their Facebook 'like' count...

I'm not a troll or anything but you could definitely argue that a player is bigger than the club.

:lol:

A player can be bigger in terms of worth but a player is never bigger then the club. Period. If they allowed that type of thinking, they'd be anarchy.

Its probably due to a multiplier effect. For egs, if a good looking player moves from United to Barca, he'd have more 'likes' than United & Barca simply because he'd get votes due to
1. Accumulated past votes from United fans
2. Barca fans
3. Fans of the national team
4. Women who find him cute.

Its a stupid measure in any case. Doesn't make him bigger than the club.

Fergie: I’d welcome Ron back

ALEX FERGUSON has opened the door for Cristiano Ronaldo to make a sensational Old Trafford return.

Fergie has confided in close friend and Italian World Cup-winning boss Marcello Lippi that Ronaldo would be welcome back at Manchester United.

Ronaldo forced through an £80million transfer from United to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009. But Lippi said: "Sir Alex told me he would take Ronaldo back tomorrow.

"We both think he is an extraordinary striker who can start on either wing, or as the sole striker and perform brilliantly.

"But the truly remarkable thing about Cristiano is that he ALWAYS scores."

Ronaldo has enjoyed a great season breaking the all-time La Liga record with 40 goals. He hit 51 in all, a Real record.

But his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has been strained and he admits he misses Ferguson and life at Old Trafford.

Honestly...I don't want him back =/

Oh FFS, as much as I loved him here I just can't see him working with our current team.

Him fitting into our team is not even the issue, no way would we shell out whatever Madrid are asking for him anyway.

Must be a slow day for the media.

gaz getting a brilliant send off, becks putting in a superb performances in our shirt again, signing up our next keeper for the next 20 years, and now this.....

me cock can't take it any more. :devil::devil::devil::devil::devil:

Going to be alright for Satruday?

Would be highly effective as a left-winger compared to Valencia's right, but in truth he is far more effective as a right-sided striker which he played for us in his last two seasons and now for Real, so we'd be dropping Hernandez or Rooney? He's similar to Thierry Henry in that respect, a converted winger into a goal-scoring machine...

Not gonna happen anyway as Real would want to recoup at least what they paid and there's no way United would spend that on anyone.

Why is there so much discussion about him leaving? In what way is saying "We'd want him for 160m pounds" an indication that they are looking to sell?

— — Carrick — Fletcher

Valencia — —*— — Ronaldo

With Anderson, Nani, Park and Giggs also to choose from. Wouldn't say no to that!

But then again, we don't need him and we would never shell out 50-80 mill for him.

I think we would shell out the money. However, it's a non issue

Didn't Madrid put some absolutely insane release cause fee in his contract? There's no way he'll leave.

And award for the most made-up-bullshit filled, all round worst article of the transfer window goes to...

Cristiano Ronaldo Wants £400k a Week to Leave Real Madrid for Manchester City

Former Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been talking up a possible move to Manchester City.

According to this article at Mirror.co.uk, the Real Madrid "Galatico" told friends City would need to pay him £400,000 a week in wages for him to even consider the switch.

Ronaldo also said he'd want the captaincy, the No. 7 jersey and a guarantee that he'd always be the club's highest-paid player.

Apparently, somebody connected with City owner Sheikh Mansour has already been in touch with Ronaldo—and offered him what the Mirror calls a "mind-blowing package."

The Portuguese international and former Ballon d'Or winner joined Madrid for £80 million in 2009 but is apparently losing patience with Jose Mourinho's tactics.

There's a suggestion the Spanish giants may decide to cash in on his current value, estimated to be at around £150 million, and invest the funds in new talent.

If Ronaldo is for sale, City are one of the few clubs—perhaps the only club—with the financial clout to make it happen.

Whether the 26-year-old would seriously consider a move to United's city rivals—having enjoyed some great years at United—remains to be seen.

I know some people like to think of Ronaldo as a cnut, but I seriously don't think he'd even consider joining City.

Nor do I. I think he owes to much to United and Ferguson to go piss it up the wall instantly.

If City actually pay him 400k a week I wouldn't hold it against him.

Apparently, Ronaldo is demanding:

* £400,000 per week.

* The City captaincy.

* The number 7 shirt.

* To always be the highest-paid player at City.

* An electric pencil-sharpener.

* The banning of Jinn.

* A personal menagerie, including monkeys, unicorns and badgerwolves.
