Real to put Ronaldo up for sale

Manchester City tell #SSN they are not interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo

That's like me saying I'm not interested in banging a supermodel.

Manchester City have just released an official statement saying Christiano is not one of their transfer targets. Seriously.

Edit: Oooh Solius!

Man City will be circling like a vulture if he does become available, no doubt about that. The fact they've released this statement tells me that they're trying to keep the price down by intimating that they're not arsed. They clearly are.

Here's the thing with United. Even if this story was true, which I severely doubt (Jose would go before Ronaldo), Ronnie's not the sort of character who would go back to the place he came from (especially during his peak) because it would be tantamount to admitting that he made a bad move in the first place.

Fergie's cow-in-a-field analogy really was apt. Even when moving to other "super clubs", it's rare that you get it any better than at United. It must be galling for the lad, on some level, to see that whilst he has been producing super-human individual efforts to the end of a domestic cup, the United juggernaut has carried on moving forward at a frantic pace without him.

Graham Hunter said on this weeks Revista that Ronaldo isn't entirely happy at Real Madrid, and, paraphrasing his words, 'it hasn't quite turned out as he expected it to', with it originally being his dream move.

How true any of this is, I have no idea, but he also said that Ronaldo has been talking to some of his old Manchester United teammates and saying that it just isn't the same at Madrid as it was at United.

Again paraphrasing Hunter, 'if it wasn't for the weather in Manchester' and 'there isn't the same level of professionalism at Madrid as there is at United'.

Hunter said that he isn't at the point of wanting to move, but that there are some things about Real Madrid that he finds frustrating, including the way that Mourinho sets up the team.

Hunter also said a few weeks ago that he asked Ronaldo about a return to England/United. Ronaldo replied something like "in football, anything is possible. The only place in England to play is at United."

Muppet frenzy

Translation : they willl be definitely interested if he becomes available

Who wouldn't. Have you seen the way he finished the season, unbelievable.

lets offer 1 billion quid to madrid for him and 500 grand a week and see if we can get him back!:wenger:

Hehe imagine moving from united to real thinking it to be some sort of step up and then dropping 20 stories down to Manchester city. That's got to hurt.

Very true, especially when Mourinho has far from consolidated his position.

Not so sure this time - they've bowed to player power before and look where its got them.

Mourinho joining Real and Raul and Guti being bombed out could be a water shead moment for Real Madrid. The people in charge seem to realise that Mourinho is their best chance of toppling Barca.

The fact that they slowed their spending last season and wouldn't let Mourinho bring in a forward is also a significant change of pace.

No doubt they would sell Ronaldo for a huge sum - every player has his price.

ManCity had 2 offers for Cristiano Rolando turned down by Real Madrid already; prepared to go as high as €180 million
Are city that desperate - paying £150m for a mere anagram?

Although I'd hate to see the odious plonker back in this league, I'd also have a good hearty laugh if he joined city. All that is left is for Rooney to dust off his transfer request and city would have your CL winning front line.

In particular, I would enjoy watching Cal's existential anguish if it happened. That could be epic.

Meh, don't think he can do it (again) on a cold, winter night at Stoke.

To City?! Seriously? Don't see it.

Just imagine United winning the Premiership next season despite Ronaldo playing for City.

Bring it on!

A favorite of mine when he played for us, still interested how he fares at Real, but if he signs for City he will be dead to me.

I find it strange to say this but even if city would go for Ronaldo I believe he would be more sensible than Tevez and say piss off. Whilst part of his heart is Real, the other part is United. He wouldn't be a judas like that cnut Tevez. He knows he couldn't do that to us.

Even if a bid was accepted, he probably wouldn't go there, but still, if they offered him huge wages, he'd definitely think twice.

I doubt it. He already earns more money than god. His reasons for leaving us were as much to do with living in Manchester, as having won the lot with us.

I can't imagine he would return to Manchester to play for an inferior team for a few extra quid. Anyway, with the current UK tax rate, how much would Shitty have to offer him to match his current wage? £400,000 a week?

I can see City bidding for him certainly.

I can't see Madrid accepting it or him wanting to go there however.

I'd imagine they'd want to send Mourinho packing first if there really is a rift between them both. Especially after the club distanced themselves from his Champions League outburst.

I am sure Berlusconi will find a way of swindling the Italian tax payer to pay for this deal. AC Milan often find money from nowhere to make huge transfers. Great player that Ronaldo but you have put up with all the petulance and monster Ego so good luck to him wherever he goes

Mancini is worse than Mo with his tactics.

Will that suit Ronnie?

I'd say the chance to earn "more money than God" was also a fairly big factor. City can offer enough money to tempt any footballer and, now they're competing in the CL, there's no footballing reason not to sign for them. I could see Ronaldo being tempted, if he's offered a big enough pay-cheque.

I doubt Madrid would sell him though. This whole story has to be bullshit. The club is basically run in such a way that appeasing their fans is the main priority. No Madrid president would ever want to be the man in charge when they sold the striker that just scored the most goals ever in a single season.

When/If you are willing to pay 150 million for one player, money doesn't mean shit

I don't think he would go there, like I said, especially seeing as Fergie, who Ronnie said was like a father, is still in charge of United

I'm just saying that he could be tempted when money is no object

Maybe not even this year, but eventually, when and if City's progress continues and they win some real silverware
