Real to put Ronaldo up for sale

400k p.w. is what they were rumoured to have offered Kaka, some time ago.

if they're willing to pay him that much then he'd be stupid not to! that's a god damn joke.

Ronaldo earns £286,000 now, in 12/13 it's £357,000 and £447,000 in 13/14.

He won't even consider this.

Some people think he's really a cnut, but he won't leave Madrid for Manchester feckin City.

City enjoy flexing their financial muscle but later realise they're an ugly proposition.

I think people should really give Ronaldo more credit. He can be a bit of a pretentious prick, but he's loyal to the people that have made him who he is. Believe it or not, he stuck with us twice when he sought away and each time still gave us everything. And honestly... Real Madrid or Manchester City.....

I don't think he did in his last season with incidents such as subbing himself off vs Sunderland and not tracking back vs Aston Villa/Porto.

He was brilliant at times don't get me wrong but he's even better than brilliant.

I'd love him back here but I couldn't bear the thought of him at City

Nor me.

But what happens in the event of Real wanting to sell, and City being the club that offers the most money?

I don't think Ronaldo would actually want to go to City, but would he have any say?

I wouldn't blame Ronaldo if he went.

Far too many people take the easy road. For a top player, joining a club like Manchester United or Real Madrid or Barcelona is the easy road. Those are clubs that won championships before you arrived and will win championships after you leave. You're not creating anything, you're standing on the shoulders of giants who came before you.

Going to a club like City for Ronaldo would be a risk, yes. However the rewards for turning City into a top club in the world would far, far, far outstrip the rewards for going to an established winner. Ronaldo would have a direct hand in establishing City as a top level club. His legend would be 10x what it would be should he follow his current path. He would be a giant whose successes and shoulders later players stood on. That is a risk worth taking.

This is no guarantee he would be successful, however, even if he fails, at least he tried something much more difficult.

we didnt sell him to Milan. He was on loan to Milan from his American team.

We sold him to Madrid, when it was rumored that he wanted to play for Barca

talking about when he originally was sold to Real by us.

I remember clearly reading he was sold by us to Milan. But Becks did not want to go and was then sold to Real for 24 million.

I can't imagine that Real would want to sell such a prolific goalscorer, no matter how much City offered them.

I definitely cannot see Ronaldo moving anywhere he didn't want to move to.

I most definitely cannot see him moving to City under any circumstances whatsoever.

His name is Ronaldo not God Almighty.

According to the press at the time we negotiated a higher price with Barcelona, but Beckham turned down the move.

I'm not sure how close we got to a deal with Milan.

Of course Ronaldinho then moved to Barca, Becks to Madrid, Ronaldo to us - and the rest is history.

If Real got Ronaldinho who knows how long Barca's rise to the top would have been postponed, but Perez didn't think he was pretty.

You believed that bullshit!!? They only said it after Barca had signed him. And let's not forget:

City is not even remotely tempting for a player of Ronaldo's stature. It's a humungous step down from being the main man at Real Madrid to the main man at Manchester City.

This was never going to happen unless at a time when Ronaldo was past it.

Notice none of the "in the future, only God knows..." bullshit nowadays...

Exactly. Lovely how Ronaldo doesn't mess Madrid around but was happy to c-p on us. I don't get why players can't just be honest with fans. If you want to leave just say so, graciously. Ronaldo's games and the undignified he carried on both during and after Euro 2008 still leaves a sour a taste.

Actually he was also asked - Would you like to retire in Madrid?

"Why not? But in football things happen. You never know. At this point I would."

And, Would you like to play alongside Messi?

"I don't see Messi leaving Barca, nor Cristiano leaving Madrid. At least for now. But you never know. Why not?"

And on the City rumour - City have offered 170m for you.

"Not bad, eh? No, I'm not going."
