Way too open game for my liking. Ozil and Ronaldo with way too much space, same with Di Maria. Van Persie has been class. Rooney non existant, same with our midfield. We need a second in the second half, but we need cleverley on to get some control. Xabi alonso is dominating there.
Need Anderson or Cleverley on in his place.

We have no midfield whatsoever. And that is with Rooney dropping back. Cleverly could be a good dimension to the attack but he won't be able to defend like Jones. He's made some splendid tackles.

Good result so far but our football is shocking. Rafael and Evra are a disaster and Jones is pointless. If we keep this up we'll finish this at least 2 goals behind. Cleverley on, now please. Also, I love Danny Welbeck, what a proper lad. His workrate is off the charts and he topped it off with a goal this time! I'm very disappointed we're not putting more pressure on Alonso though. In fact, I don't get what our game plan is at all here.

The Madrid defence are there to be had. Seriously, I said it weeks ago, Hernandez can tear these apart after 65 minutes. A tired Ramos and one yellow away from missing the return leg. A young Varane. Hernandez can stretch these and pull something off for us.
As it stands, I'd bring him on and I really think we'll have to consider Cleverley for Rafael with Jones going to RB, because we cant afford to lose Rafael here to a red.

Welbeck's goal was a perfectly placed header and adds to his collection of big clubs he's scored against, Ronaldo's goal was a mirror image of our goal in the final against Chelsea.
Kagawa and RVP have linked up very nicely and Rooney has done a great job basically tracking whoever has the ball at that time.
Real look the more composed, we're still lumping it forward on most occasions, but without the width we've not really got an outball.

Kagawa has been better than both Welbeck(what has he done except scoring?) and Rooney(I barely saw him, except for when he yelled at the ref).

2-1 to real at the end of the night would not be a disastrous result by any means, but if we can steal another I would be delighted.

I say Rafael needs Nani to help out, but that aint gonna happen. It's very hard to say what Fergie is going to do in light of his available subs:
Lindegaard, Valencia, Anderson, Giggs, Smalling, Hernandez, Cleverley.

I would have loved to have seen Evra at least challenge Ronnie for that header though, he just stood there and watch him nod it in.
Also we're missing Vidic at the back IMO. Our defence looks all over the place and we're not looking solid like we usually do with Vida. At least we got an away goal.
